How Could I Possibly Have a Daughter After Reincarnating?

Chapter 320 : Sign a Contract With Me and Become a Magical Girl!

“So, have you finished reading it? Do the terms seem acceptable?” Qin Qing asked, watching Ling Ning who was still studying the contract.

Ling Ning, startled by Qin Qing’s sudden question, looked up sheepishly. “I’ve finished reading it, but…”

“But what? Not enough shares? I can always give you a bit more~”

Ling Ning quickly shook her head, flustered. “N-no, it’s not that. You’re already offering too much, Sister Qin Qing. I’m just an amateur model, not worth any shares. Like before, just giving me a small token is more than enough.”

She had carefully gone over the contract and found no issues with it. The terms were more than fair—so much so that it almost seemed too lenient. Most surprising of all was the part about compensation: Qin Qing was offering her five percent of the company’s original shares.

Ling Ning wasn’t completely ignorant; she understood the value of that five percent. While she loved money, she also had principles.

“Oh, come on! Five percent isn’t that much. Besides, if I’m giving you five percent, it’s because you’re worth it! So stop hesitating and sign the contract. Become my magical girl… I mean, my R&D… I mean, my employee!” Qin Qing said with a mischievous grin.

Listening to her words, Ling Ning felt an odd sense of unease. Was it just her, or did Qin Qing’s phrasing sound ambiguous? It felt like she was the heroine in some kind of… compromising manga plot, signing a dubious contract under pressure.

In the end, after a bit of coaxing from Qin Qing, Ling Ning signed the contract. But she couldn’t shake the feeling that she’d just signed her life away.

“Why do you look so nervous? It’s just a contract, not a lifetime commitment. Now, let me show you around the company and introduce you to the other staff.”

“You call your employees ‘idiots’ so casually. Isn’t that a bit much?”

Ling Ning teased, though the thought stayed in her head. Most of these ‘idiots’ were trained by Qin Qing herself. So if they’re idiots, what does that make her?

Of course, Ling Ning kept that last part to herself. Saying it out loud would probably be the end of her.

“This here is Pang Zi. You can just call him ‘Fatty’~”

Hearing his boss introduce him, “Fatty” struck a pose and flashed a grin at Ling Ning. “Hey there, beautiful. I’m Pang Zi, but you can just call me Fatty. Need any dirty work or heavy lifting done? I’m your guy!”

“H-hello, Brother Fatty,” Ling Ning replied.

“Don’t let his looks fool you. Fatty here is one of my most reliable designers, especially skilled at creating women’s formalwear,” Qin Qing explained.

“Huh?”

Ling Ning was genuinely surprised, giving Fatty a closer look. She wouldn’t have guessed that someone with his appearance was a master of women’s fashion design.

“And next to him is Ji Lao. You can call him ‘Gay Buddy’—not just a nickname, but also a fact about him. He’s in charge of designing casualwear… also for women.”

Ji Lao gave Ling Ning a flamboyant smile. “Hi there, beautiful! You can call me ‘Gay Buddy’~”

“H-hi…”

After introducing the design team, Qin Qing led Ling Ning through the other departments, giving her a chance to meet everyone. The men, and a few women, were delighted to learn that this beautiful model would be around regularly.

Ling Ning also discovered a recreation room in the office, complete with gaming consoles, computers, and more. She felt an itch to try it out herself.

“How about lunch at my place?” Qin Qing suggested with a bright smile.

“Sounds great~” Ling Ning agreed without hesitation. It had been a while since she’d been to Qin Qing’s home, and she hadn’t visited Yang Bing or the adorable little Tong Xue in a long time either. It was a perfect chance to catch up.

“Let’s stop by the market on the way,” Qin Qing suggested.

“Driving your sports car?”

“Of course. You’d rather walk in this heat? The market isn’t exactly close, and we’d be drenched by the time we got there.”

Ling Ning quickly agreed, thinking of the hot sun outside. Though she didn’t mind tanning, she hated the sticky feeling of sweaty clothes clinging to her.

“Finally back~”

Qin Qing sighed as she entered her home, setting down the groceries before hurrying to turn on the air conditioner. It was sweltering outside, humid and oppressive. Qin Qing figured it was the kind of weather that usually led to a sudden downpour.

After putting away the groceries in the kitchen, Ling Ning noticed that Qin Sirou wasn’t home. “Is Sirou out?”

“She’s been spending a lot of time out with friends lately.”

Hearing this, Ling Ning couldn't help but think of her own daughter, who had also been going out frequently these days. She didn't know where her daughter had been playing, so she decided to ask her about it when she got home tonight.

Ling Ning looked at Qin Qing, who was lying lifelessly on the sofa, and shook her head helplessly. She turned around, went into the room, and brought out a blanket to cover Qin Qing.

"Ling Ning is still as full of wife-material qualities as ever~ Whoever marries you in the future will be so blessed~"

"I've only just graduated from high school, it's too early to talk about these things! Besides, I might not even want to get married!" Ling Ning said irritably.

"What? I didn't catch that last part!" Qin Qing looked at Ling Ning with confusion, as Ling Ning's last sentence was spoken too softly, and she only caught a few words.

"It's nothing, you misheard~"

"Eh!? I clearly heard something about marriage!"

"I told you, you misheard!"

"Eh!"
