Chapter 280 : Can’t Control Myself!
“What should I do? I feel like I’m losing control!” Chen Ruo stared at Ling Ning’s lips, feeling like her self-control was slipping away.
“This atmosphere… it’s definitely getting more and more off!” Ling Ning thought, noticing how close Chen Ruo was, so close she could feel her breath on her face.
Just as Ling Ning was desperately trying to think of a way to break the tension, the door suddenly swung open, and her disciple, Jiang Xue, walked in with a baffled look.
The sound jolted Chen Ruo out of her trance, and she turned around, equally bewildered, to see Jiang Xue standing there.
“Uh… I didn’t see anything~”
Jiang Xue mumbled with an awkward smile, quickly closing the door. Inside, she was dying a little. She’d just stumbled upon her Teacher and Teacher in a rather compromising situation—would they silence her to keep her quiet? No way, she still had her whole life ahead of her! She hadn’t even gotten a girlfriend yet… Wait, why a girlfriend? She was straight! Or… was she?
“My apologies… About what just happened, please let me explain!” Chen Ruo climbed off Ling Ning and gave her a serious look. Yet, for some reason, she couldn’t shake a lingering reluctance.
“It’s… fine, I understand!” Ling Ning replied with a forced smile. If only she hadn’t taken things too far just now, they wouldn’t have ended up like this.
Jiang Xue sat in the living room, her mind spinning from what she’d just seen. For a girl with typical orientation, this was a lot to take in. But for some reason… why did she feel so excited?
“It must be because I’ve been reading too many yuri manga. That’s definitely it!” Jiang Xue reassured herself silently.
“Ahem.”
Jiang Xue snapped out of her thoughts to find her Teacher sitting beside her, looking at her expressionlessly. She couldn’t shake the feeling that any second now, Ling Ning might pull out a comically oversized knife and start chasing her, seeing as she’d witnessed something she shouldn’t have.
“Um… What you saw back there was just Chen Ruo and I fooling around. Don’t misunderstand. We’re just very, very pure friends. The best thing for you to do is forget what you saw. Got it?”
Jiang Xue nodded rapidly like a pecking chick. On the surface, she looked like she believed it, but in her heart, she couldn’t help but wonder: If they were really “very pure friends,” why would they need her to forget what she’d just seen? This only made her more convinced her suspicions were correct!
“So… why did it take you so long to get groceries?”
“There was a huge crowd! I had to wait in line forever,” Jiang Xue replied.
“Thanks for your hard work. I’ll go start cooking.” Ling Ning smiled and headed into the kitchen.
Watching her Teacher in the kitchen, Jiang Xue couldn’t help but think she exuded such “wife” vibes, especially when she was in an apron. If only it were a nude apron—uh, wait, what?
Jiang Xue smacked herself. What was wrong with her? Had she read too many explicit manga lately? Why were her thoughts so dirty? She had no right to think like that about her Teacher! Besides, her Teacher was already with Chen Ruo. She couldn’t just swoop in and steal her from her Teacher!
Chen Ruo glanced over at Jiang Xue, puzzled by her sudden self-slap. What was wrong with her new student?

“Why am I the model?”
Ling Ning asked, sitting in a chair, looking a bit exasperated at the two people setting up before her.
“Because I need to teach my disciple how to draw, and you’re the best model we’ve got here!” Chen Ruo replied matter-of-factly.
“…”
Ling Ning found herself at a loss for words but decided it didn’t really matter. As a professional model, sitting in a chair and reading a book was no big deal at all.
Knowing this would take some time, Ling Ning grabbed an interesting magazine to pass the time. As she settled in, Jiang Xue and Chen Ruo both noticed a change in her aura—she seemed to slip effortlessly into “model mode.”
Jiang Xue blinked in surprise, then began carefully sketching, her task to recreate her Teacher’s likeness as a manga character.
Chen Ruo sat by her side, quietly observing her every movement.
For a while, the only sound in the room was the scratching of a pencil on paper.
“Teacher… is so beautiful,” Jiang Xue thought to herself as she drew. It was the first time she’d looked at her Teacher this closely, and from every angle, she seemed absolutely perfect.
“All done!”
After some time, Chen Ruo suddenly spoke up.
“Huh? But…” Jiang Xue paused, confused. She was only halfway finished and still had things to tweak.
“We’re finally finished?”
Hearing Chen Ruo’s words, Ling Ning relaxed. She had been giving it her all, even slipping into her “photo shoot mode,” just so she wouldn’t slack off in front of her disciple.
Ling Ning got up, stretched, and strolled over to Chen Ruo’s side, smiling. “Let me see how it turned out~”
She examined the sketch on the drawing pad and nodded in approval. This manga-style portrait of her was quite good; while it wasn’t yet at Chen Ruo’s level, it was impressive.
Thinking back to the character Chen Ruo had drawn for her previously, she was hit by a familiar feeling, like she’d seen it before. After a moment’s thought, it clicked: the heroine in the doujinshi Chen Ruo had gifted her looked just like her! No wonder it had felt so familiar!
Ling Ning shot a glance at Chen Ruo, deciding to wait for the right moment to have a “heart-to-heart” with her about this revelation.
Just as Chen Ruo began explaining the art to Jiang Xue, she suddenly felt a chill and shivered involuntarily. She looked up to find Ling Ning watching her with an unreadable smile.
For some reason, Chen Ruo had a feeling that smile wasn’t as simple as it seemed…
