How Could I Possibly Have a Daughter After Reincarnating?

Chapter 263 : The Harem Protagonist (Sarcastic)

“Huh?! That’s weird… It should’ve been somewhere around here…”

Shortly after Bai Yiyue walked away from the stall, a scrawny, shifty-looking young man appeared nearby, his head lowered as if searching for something.

This young man was none other than Wei Suozhai, our dear friend. Today, he had brought along his cherished “Childhood Yuri Collection USB” to the convention. He’d arranged to meet an online friend with the same interests, intending to make an exchange of sorts—a pure, friendly “trade” of doujin resources.

Although cloud storage was a convenient option, his friend had insisted on a face-to-face exchange, so, reluctantly, Wei Suozhai agreed. He’d gone months without losing anything important, so he’d convinced himself that he wouldn’t be unlucky enough to misplace his treasured USB this time. He’d even taken it out of his safe just for this.

Everything had gone smoothly: he had made it to the convention center without incident, met his friend, and exchanged resources. His friend’s name was Fei Zhouren, a large bald man—or rather, he wasn’t entirely bald, as a few stubborn hairs remained on his head. According to Fei Zhouren, his baldness was due to “spiritual training,” though Wei Suozhai wasn’t sure what kind of training could lead to that.

Their trade had taken place at a nearby internet café, where they exchanged their USB contents. Wei Suozhai acquired Fei Zhouren’s “Yuri Seductress Collection,” so technically, the USB he lost should be called the “Childhood Seductress Yuri USB.”

After completing their trade, Fei Zhouren left quickly, explaining he’d only taken a short leave from his job at the supermarket. Meanwhile, Wei Suozhai decided to stay at the convention for a bit. After all, he was a dedicated otaku—there was no way he’d miss exploring such a huge event.

While browsing the convention, he spotted a limited-edition Billyko figure. Just as he was about to take out his wallet to buy it, he discovered, to his horror, that his shoulder bag had a large slash across it. His wallet and phone were missing, and the precious USB deep inside the bag was gone as well.

While losing the wallet and phone was annoying, he could replace those. But the USB? That was his lifeblood, especially with all the new, never-before-seen resources it held.

Thinking back, Wei Suozhai recalled bumping into someone near one of the stalls. That must have been when his bag was slashed. He figured the thief wouldn’t bother with a USB, which meant it had probably just fallen out along the way. Determined, he retraced his steps, hoping to find it around the stall he’d been near.

After searching the area thoroughly, Wei Suozhai came up empty. With no other options, he approached the vendor and asked, “Excuse me, but did you happen to see a USB shaped like a salted fish?”

The vendor blinked in surprise, then gave a forced laugh. “Sorry, haven’t seen any salted fish USBs around here. But, young man, how about this fine ‘golden bird’ USB instead? Just a hundred yuan, a great deal~”

“N-No, thanks!” Wei Suozhai shivered at the vendor’s overly friendly smile, suddenly suspecting he was dealing with… a creep. The last thing he wanted was to end up in a sticky situation here.

Feeling defeated, Wei Suozhai slumped into a nearby seat in the rest area. His USB was gone, his wallet and phone were gone—how was he even going to get home?

“Hey, isn’t that Wei Suozhai?”

Hearing his name, Wei Suozhai looked up to see two “beautiful, flat-chested young girls” standing before him. He didn’t recognize the older one, but the younger one was unmistakably Chu Feng, the maid from the café he frequented. He never would have imagined bumping into her here.

“H-Hello.”

“Why the long face? Did you lose your wallet or phone?” Chu Feng asked, covering his mouth in surprise. But realizing that his gesture looked a bit “flamboyant,” he reminded himself that he was dressed as a girl today, so he played along with the mannerisms.

Wei Suozhai forced a smile. “Both, actually.”

Chu Feng was shocked, then recovered with a sympathetic look. “Well… why don’t you tag along with us? Sister Qian Xu has a car. She could give you a ride home later, right, Sister Qian Xu?”

Qian Xu nodded, barely bothered. Giving someone a lift wasn’t a big deal, though she found herself suspicious of the disheveled otaku’s closeness with her “little sister” Chu Feng. She’d definitely keep an eye on him.

To avoid having Chu Feng walk too closely with Wei Suozhai, Qian Xu strategically positioned herself between them as they moved.

Chu Feng noticed and grew nervous, wondering if Qian Xu had a crush on Wei Suozhai. Otherwise, why else would she behave this way?

As for Wei Suozhai, he felt like he was receiving the ultimate otaku privilege. Surrounded by two cute “girls,” he noticed the envious glares of countless male attendees. For the first time, he felt the thrill of what it was like to be “a winner in life.” Could this be the taste of popularity?

As his spirits soared, Wei Suozhai suddenly sensed an eerie chill. He turned to see a group of people in black robes holding gas cans and makeshift torches. They looked at him with strangely friendly smiles, but for some reason, Wei Suozhai felt like he was in the middle of a fiery inferno.

He could faintly hear their muttered words: “Two girls, just for him…” “Burn, you filthy normie!” “Down with the hetero!”

“A-Anyway, let’s go check out the stage over there!” Wei Suozhai laughed nervously, pointing toward the stage area.

“Fine with me~” Chu Feng replied.

Though Chu Feng was puzzled by Wei Suozhai’s sudden urgency, he agreed to follow along. After all, so long as his lovely “big sister” Qian Xu was beside him, he didn’t care where they went.

With a reluctant glance, Qian Xu nodded as well, unwilling to come off as petty in front of her little sister.

“Hurry up then! Before the crowd gets too thick,” Wei Suozhai said quickly, leading the way.
