Chapter 257 : Be Like the Best
“Why exactly do I have to take a wedding photo with you?” Ling Ning asked, clearly reluctant. Honestly, two girls taking wedding photos together felt strange to her.
Walking ahead with Ling Ning’s hand in hers, Bai Yiyue turned back with a cheerful smile and said, “Why not? We’re already out here, and that Wenwen Bridal Photography place isn’t far. Besides, if we don’t use the voucher, isn’t that a waste?”
Just thinking about taking wedding photos with Ling Ning made Bai Yiyue’s heart flutter with joy.
“But…” Ling Ning sighed, seeing the hopeful look in Bai Yiyue’s eyes. She decided to let it go and just go along with her friend’s whim this time.
Before long, they arrived at Wenwen Bridal Photography Studio. Ling Ning glanced at the elegant storefront, feeling an odd sense of déjà vu.
“This studio must have opened recently, right?” she mused, recalling that it wasn’t here the last time she’d passed by. The brand-new, luxurious façade confirmed that it hadn’t been around for long.
“Oh, who cares? Let’s just go in~”
A sales clerk inside looked surprised when two young women, with a little girl tagging along, walked in. She wasn’t taken aback by the two girls coming in together but rather by how young they looked. She found it surprising that such young women would have a daughter this age.
However, the clerk’s professional demeanor quickly returned, and she greeted them with a friendly smile. Despite Bai Yiyue’s mask, her sense of style and the elegance of her exposed eyes and posture made it clear she was a beauty.
“Welcome! Are you here to take wedding photos?” the clerk asked with a smile. When she looked at Ling Ning, a vague sense of familiarity struck her.
Ling Ning furrowed her brow. Did she and Bai Yiyue really look like a couple? Why was everyone assuming that? Couldn’t they just be best friends?
“Yes, we have this~” Bai Yiyue eagerly handed over the crumpled voucher.
After verifying the voucher’s authenticity, the clerk led them to a room and handed each a small catalog.
“Please feel free to choose a wedding dress you like. Of course, if one of you would like to wear a tuxedo, that’s perfectly fine, but I’d suggest that you both wear dresses for the best look,” the clerk suggested, smiling.
Seeing Bai Yiyue’s enthusiastic face, Ling Ning shrugged and opened her catalog. Truthfully, she’d worn wedding dresses a few times for work before.
“Ling Ning, look at this one! And this one’s nice, too. I can’t decide!” Bai Yiyue said, moving closer to Ling Ning, flipping through her catalog with growing excitement.
“Could you try to be a bit calmer? You can always ask the clerk for recommendations,” Ling Ning replied, exasperated. It was just a photo shoot—was it really worth getting this excited?
“But I wanted you to choose for me~” Bai Yiyue pouted.
“Alright, then. This dress has a nice layered effect that would flatter your figure. The white lace flowers at the neckline will also nicely… complement your assets,” Ling Ning said, glancing meaningfully at Bai Yiyue’s chest. She wasn’t exactly endowed, so the hint was clear. Ling Ning was confident Bai Yiyue would catch on.
“This simple, fresh one is nice, too. Its delicate tailoring doesn’t stand out much at first glance, but its beauty shines when you look closely—like a graceful girl.”
“And here’s a Korean-style dress with a classic European-inspired front slit. The champagne-colored overlay looks elegant as well.”

“Wow, miss, you really know a lot about wedding dresses!” The sales clerk couldn’t help but be impressed by Ling Ning’s detailed suggestions.
Ling Ning smiled slightly. “I’ve just had some experience with them through work. It’s nothing much.”
Hearing this, the clerk’s eyes lit up as if she’d recognized something. “Are you by any chance… Miss Ling Ning?”
“Yes, that’s me… though, how did you know?” Ling Ning asked, curious. She hadn’t introduced herself, so she wondered how the clerk had figured it out.
“I’ve seen you in Bridal,” the clerk said, pointing to a magazine rack. One of the covers featured Ling Ning in a wedding dress.
“Oh, I see.” Ling Ning nodded, recognizing the magazine from a while back. She hadn’t expected to find it here.
“What’s Bridal?” Bai Yiyue asked, looking confused. She was still trying to process all the details from Ling Ning’s earlier explanations.
With a sigh, Ling Ning patiently explained, “Bridal is a fashion magazine dedicated to wedding dresses. I’ve been featured on it a few times, and I’ve even made it onto a couple of covers. I thought I’d faded into obscurity by now, but it seems I’m still remembered.”
“Am I famous?” Ling Ning wondered to herself.
After hearing the explanation, Bai Yiyue immediately had an idea. She wanted to collect every issue of Bridal featuring Ling Ning—at least a hundred copies for her personal stash.
Suddenly, Ling Ning thought of something crucial: Bai Yiyue’s identity. If news broke that Bai Yiyue was here taking wedding photos with her, it would undoubtedly make headlines.
“Could I speak with your boss for a moment?” Ling Ning asked the clerk.
“Of course, please wait a moment~”
The clerk didn’t know why Ling Ning wanted to speak with the owner, but she respected the saying “the customer is always right” and quickly went to fetch the boss. She was sure the boss would be thrilled to meet someone as well-known as Ling Ning.

Shortly after, the clerk returned with a tall woman with short black hair. She was dressed in a white blouse and black skirt, with a camera hanging around her neck and a fan in hand. Something about her appearance felt oddly familiar to Ling Ning.
“Hello, I’m Chen Guanxi, the owner of this studio.”
“Huh?”
