Chapter 252 : Drinking Makes Me Happy~
“Here’s your order, miss. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be taking my leave~” Ling Ning placed the food on the table in front of Bai Yiyue, her face expressionless.
“Huh?! Don’t go! Stay and chat with me,” Bai Yiyue pleaded, her eyes filled with hope.
“Sigh~”
Ling Ning glanced around the café. Business was slow, and Bai Yiyue’s pitiful expression softened her heart. She called Dong Xue over, sat down across from Bai Yiyue with Dong Xue on her lap, and immediately began feeding her from Bai Yiyue’s plate.
Truth be told, she didn’t trust her overly infatuated childhood friend to behave, so she’d brought Dong Xue as a buffer. Plus, playing with Dong Xue while feeding her was fun—Dong Xue was absolutely adorable when being fed.
Seeing Dong Xue nestled in Ling Ning’s arms, Bai Yiyue’s excited expression faded. She’d hoped to sneak in some physical affection while Ling Ning was distracted, but with Dong Xue there, she couldn’t do anything untoward. How frustrating! She wanted to be the one sitting on Ling Ning’s lap, being fed by her.
“So, what did you want to talk about?” Ling Ning asked, feeding Dong Xue as she spoke. She didn’t believe for a second that Bai Yiyue was here just to grab coffee—she knew full well that her friend disliked anything bitter.
“Oh, nothing, just… it’s been a while, and I missed you~”
Ling Ning raised an eyebrow. “Didn’t we just see each other yesterday?”
“No, no, even a single second apart from you feels like an eternity,” Bai Yiyue replied with utmost sincerity. For her, there was never a wrong moment to advance her romantic plans.
Ling Ning rubbed her arms as goosebumps rose. “Where did you get these cheesy lines? It’s nauseating.”
Bai Yiyue laughed, scooting over to sit beside Ling Ning. “Ling Ning, are you free tomorrow? You promised to help me decorate my room, remember?”
Ling Ning thought for a moment. It seemed she had indeed promised to help with that. The idea of going shopping in this sweltering weather felt exhausting, but she’d given her word…
“Tomorrow? Fine. What time? And get your hand off my leg, or you can forget about me helping!” Ling Ning replied, stone-faced. Her overly affectionate friend always tried to push boundaries whenever she let her guard down.
Bai Yiyue chuckled, removing her hand from Ling Ning’s thigh. “Then, how about 9 a.m.? I’ll come pick you up~”
“Alright~”
Just then, Ling Ning heard Chu Mengyao calling her name. Realizing she’d been slacking off for quite a while, Ling Ning popped the last piece of tart into her mouth and gracefully got up with Dong Xue in tow.
Bai Yiyue watched longingly as Ling Ning walked away in her maid uniform, wiping away the drool that nearly escaped. She really wanted to play some… intimate games with Maid Ling Ning. But alas, Ling Ning would never agree to something like that.
When Ling Ning’s figure disappeared around the corner, Bai Yiyue finally turned back to her table—only to realize, much to her dismay, that her food was completely gone. The plate was spotless, and she couldn’t fathom how Ling Ning had managed that.
Honestly, if you wanted Ling Ning’s company, you had to be prepared to pay the price.

“Xia You, want to have a few drinks tonight?”
After their shift, Ling Ning was walking home with Dong Xue and Xia You when they passed a convenience store. Ling Ning spotted some cold beers in the fridge and swallowed instinctively. She realized it had been ages since she’d had a drink.
Honestly, in this sweltering weather, a couple of ice-cold beers would be perfect—refreshing and thirst-quenching.
“Sure… that sounds nice~” Xia You replied, almost never declining Ling Ning’s suggestions.
With Xia You on board, Ling Ning went into the store and grabbed a few bottles of cold beer. She knew her tolerance wasn’t what it used to be, so she didn’t buy too much—just enough for them to share.
Dong Xue looked curiously at the beers in Ling Ning’s hand, wondering what they were.
Ling Ning noticed her curious gaze, patted her head, and said with a smile, “This is beer, Xiao Xue. You’re not old enough to drink it yet, but I’ll get you some cola at home. How does that sound?”
Hearing this, Dong Xue’s eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. Cola was her favorite.
Xia You watched the interaction between Ling Ning and Dong Xue, a gentle smile on her lips. Ling Ning really was kind to everyone. That’s what Xia You adored most about her—her unending kindness.

“Ahhh, so refreshing~” Ling Ning sighed as she took a gulp of the cold beer, feeling that familiar warmth spread through her. She felt like all her aches and pains had melted away.
Xia You took a sip too, although she wasn’t particularly fond of alcohol. In fact, she’d always disliked it due to her father’s drinking habit, which had filled her home with that unpleasant scent.
But if Ling Ning enjoyed drinking, then Xia You decided she could enjoy it too.
Soon, a faint blush spread across Xia You’s cheeks, giving her an alluring glow under the lights. Meanwhile, Ling Ning showed no signs of being affected—she never seemed to flush while drinking. However, things changed after the alcohol set in.
Before long, Ling Ning had finished her beers. Having gone without drinking for a while, she’d misjudged her tolerance. Xia You, on the other hand, had barely finished one bottle.
After a short time, the alcohol finally hit Ling Ning. Her tolerance was even lower than before, it seemed.
“L-Ling Ning, are you okay?” Xia You asked, concerned, watching Ling Ning sway unsteadily.
Ling Ning’s half-lidded eyes sparkled, her fair cheeks tinged with a faint blush. Her lips parted slightly as she breathed softly, and Xia You could smell the faint scent of alcohol. There was something intoxicating about her allure.
“I’m…fine. I just need to lie down,” Ling Ning murmured, her gaze settling on Xia You’s lap. Without a second thought, she laid her head on Xia You’s lap, oblivious to her rolled-up skirt and the hint of panties peeking out.
Xia You looked down at Ling Ning, lying so trustingly in her lap, and slowly lowered her head…
