How Could I Possibly Have a Daughter After Reincarnating?

Chapter 145 : We Still Don't Know the Chapter Title We Saw That Day

What would happen if you woke up one morning to find someone else in your bed?

Because tomorrow was New Year's Day, Ling Ning had stayed up all night writing, finally sleeping at around two or three in the morning. Before she went to bed, she checked in on her daughter and Qin Sirou to make sure they hadn't kicked off their blankets.

She knew her daughter well; she was pretty well-behaved when she slept. Qin Sirou, on the other hand, was a different story. She often kicked off her blanket. One time, Ling Ning got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and decided to check on her, only to find that Qin Sirou wasn't even in her bed.

At the time, Ling Ning was completely puzzled. She was just about to go looking elsewhere when she discovered Qin Sirou curled up underneath the desk. Ling Ning had no idea how someone could manage to end up under a desk while asleep.

Sure enough, when Ling Ning entered Qin Sirou's room that night, she found her wrapped in her blanket, lying on the floor. That was Qin Sirou's magic—no matter what position or where she slept, the blanket always stayed with her.

Ling Ning shook her head helplessly, then carefully picked Qin Sirou up and put her back in bed, tucking her in before quietly leaving the room.

Once she was sure everything was fine, Ling Ning finally settled into her own bed, satisfied.

However, the next morning, Ling Ning woke up to find someone lying beside her. No wonder she felt someone tugging at her blanket in the middle of the night. Wait! That wasn't the point here.

Why was there suddenly someone next to her? She was sure no one had been there when she went to sleep. And from the long hair, she could tell it was a woman. And not just that—a completely naked woman.

Luckily, Ling Ning realized her pajamas were still intact, or she really would have thought something had happened.

It seemed Ling Ning's movements had woken the person beside her. The woman turned over, and it was none other than Qin Qing.

Qin Qing's long eyelashes fluttered for a moment before her eyes opened. She gave Ling Ning a sleepy smile and said, "Good morning, Ling Ning~"

"Good morning, my ass! When did you get back? Why didn't you let me know in advance? And why aren't you wearing any clothes?!"

Qin Qing blinked and processed Ling Ning's barrage of questions before replying, "I don't know what time I got here. I was just too tired, so I crawled into bed. Oh, and I like sleeping naked."

"Wait a minute, why didn't you sleep in your own room?!"

"That bed is so cold. Yours is warm—it's much more comfortable."

Ling Ning was left speechless by Qin Qing's answer. She got out of bed, grabbed a coat, and picked up her phone to check the time. It was already almost ten o'clock. She couldn't believe she'd slept that long.

Turning to the still half-asleep Qin Qing, Ling Ning asked, "Aren't you hungry? Do you want to get up and have some breakfast first? Also, your makeup hasn't been removed yet."

"No, let me sleep a bit longer. Wake me up at lunchtime," Qin Qing murmured before rolling over to take Ling Ning's spot, clutching her pillow as she drifted back to sleep.

Seeing how exhausted Qin Qing looked, Ling Ning sighed and gently pulled the blanket over her before leaving the room.

The two little ones were still in bed as well, either still asleep or simply refusing to get up. And honestly, it was understandable—during winter, the bed felt like it had an invisible barrier, making it incredibly hard to leave.

After washing up quickly, Ling Ning changed into outdoor clothes. She planned to go out for breakfast. Even though it was nearly lunchtime, her stomach was growling, and she knew she couldn't hold out till noon. She figured she might as well get breakfast and pick up ingredients for lunch while she was out.

Just as Ling Ning reached the ground floor, she ran into Yang Bing and her daughter, who were about to go out for a walk.

The little girl, Dong Xue, had been rubbing her eyes sleepily, but the moment she saw Ling Ning, her eyes lit up. She ran straight over to Ling Ning, grabbed her skirt, and began rubbing her face against Ling Ning's thigh.

Ling Ning was long used to Dong Xue's habit of tugging at her skirt. She couldn't help but once again thank Qin Qing for the quality of her clothing—it truly was remarkable.

"It seems Xiao Xue is still quite attached to your skirt~ Oh, and Happy New Year!" Yang Bing smiled as she watched.

"Happy New Year to you too, Sister Bing. Out for an early walk?"

"Yes, we're just taking a stroll. The weather is so nice today, and the sun feels so good, so I thought I'd bring my daughter out for some sunshine. Plus, we could grab some groceries while we're at it." Yang Bing smiled warmly.

Ling Ning felt the warmth of the sun on her skin. It really was a comfortable day.

"What a coincidence, I was just about to go grocery shopping too."

"Shall we walk together then?"

"Sure."

"Hey! All of you, get up!" Ling Ning called out again. She was almost done making lunch, but there was still no sign of anyone waking up. Ling Ning wasn't even sure how many times she'd tried waking them now.

After a while, there was still no movement. They were really testing her patience. Ling Ning silently washed her hands—using cold water in winter was surprisingly invigorating.

First stop: her own room.

Qin Qing was still lying comfortably in bed, unaware of the approaching danger.

Ling Ning looked at the peacefully sleeping Qin Qing, then wordlessly slipped her cold hands under the blanket.

"Aaah!!!"

"Sister Qin Qing, it's time for lunch."

Now wide awake, Qin Qing stared at the smiling Ling Ning. How had she never noticed this black-bellied side of Ling Ning before?

Seeing that Qin Qing was fully awake, Ling Ning turned to leave the room. As she left, she gave Qin Qing a look that clearly said if she dared go back to sleep, things wouldn't be this simple next time.

Next stop: her daughter's room.

Ling Ning walked in to find her daughter, Ling Ye, wrapped in her blanket, curled up in bed, playing on her phone.

"Ye Ye, it's time to get up for lunch."

"Mm, okay."

Ling Ye didn't even glance up, her eyes fixed on her phone, completely missing Ling Ning's seemingly gentle smile.

Seeing her daughter still ignoring her words, Ling Ning quietly walked over, placed her cold hands on Ling Ye's cheeks, and started to rub.

"Aaah!!!"

Ling Ye looked at her mother with wide, horrified eyes. She hadn't expected her mom to use such a chilling attack, catching her totally off guard.

Seeing her daughter finally get up to get dressed, Ling Ning nodded in satisfaction. Was it so hard to just listen to your mom?

Hearing two screams from the other room, Qin Sirou got up, dressed herself, and opened the door—only to be greeted by Ling Ning's kindly expression.

"As expected, Sirou is the best," Ling Ning said, patting Qin Sirou's head before turning to leave.

After Ling Ning left, Qin Sirou let out a sigh of relief. She didn't know why, but there was an inexplicable pressure from Ling Ning just now. If she had still been in bed, she probably would've been the third scream.
