Chapter 137 : Whatever You Like, I'll Like Too

The three of them were sitting in a small diner. After listening to Li Meng and Li Qian's explanation, Ling Ning finally understood what had transpired.
However, Ling Ning still didn't quite know what to say. Li Qian had mentioned having a sister before, but who knew they looked this much alike?

Li Qian gave her sister a deep look. "Are you looking for trouble?"
"Bring it on. You think I'm scared of you?" Li Meng shot back defiantly.
"Enough, both of you. Shut up!"
Unable to take it any longer, Ling Ning finally shouted. She knew the sisters didn't get along, but she hadn't imagined it was this bad. Today's outing was full of surprises, and not the good kind.
Seeing both of them fall silent obediently, Ling Ning took a deep breath and said, "Let's just eat. No talking during the meal, understand?"
The two sisters, as if sharing one brain, nodded in unison and began attacking their food, each throwing hostile glances at the other as they ate, like they were pretending the food was each other.
Being twins, they had similar habits and tastes, which became a problem very quickly. Ling Ning hadn't even managed to exhale a sigh of relief before she saw the two of them practically wrestling over a piece of sweet-and-sour pork.
"That's enough! Let me divide it for you!"
Ling Ning picked up the plate of sweet-and-sour pork and evenly split it in half. Hopefully, that would keep them quiet.
With the two finally eating quietly, Ling Ning nodded in satisfaction and began her own meal.
But what she didn't see was that, under the table, the twins' legs were not idle. Since they couldn't fight openly, they decided to wage a covert war beneath the table.
Because Li Meng had injured her right foot, she was at a slight disadvantage in this skirmish. However, since she was sitting next to Ling Ning, Li Qian was also hesitant to go too far, fearing she'd accidentally kick Ling Ning. Seeing Ling Ning's expression, which showed she was genuinely annoyed, both sisters reluctantly decided to behave, finally eating their meal properly.
Ling Ning ended up treating them to lunch. Even with her thick skin, she felt a bit guilty for constantly leeching off Li Qian. An occasional treat would make her feel less awkward about freeloading in the future.
"What should we do this afternoon? Since your sister's hurt her foot, maybe we should call it a day? I can go out with you another time," Ling Ning suggested to Li Qian.
"She can go home if she's hurt. Besides, she wasn't even supposed to be here today," Li Qian said, giving her sister a sidelong glance. She had already wasted the entire morning looking for them, and she wasn't about to lose the afternoon too.
"I'm not going home~ I'm feeling much better now. As long as Ling Ning helps me, I'll be fine." As she spoke, Li Meng grabbed onto Ling Ning's arm, shooting her sister a challenging look.
Ling Ning sighed in resignation. Just then, she remembered there was a movie theater nearby. Watching a film seemed like a good idea.
"Why don't we go watch a movie? Isn't there a popular one out now called 'Your Name' or something?"
"'Your Name'!?" Both sisters exclaimed at the same time.
The movie had already been released in Japan, and it had only recently gotten the rights to be shown in China. It was said that most people who went to watch it were couples, and those who confessed their feelings after watching it reportedly had a high success rate.
"Sure, sounds great~" Both sisters agreed immediately.

Li Qian squinted at her sister, her voice cold as she asked, "What are you really trying to do?"
"Don't you get it by now? Whatever you like, I'll like too." Li Meng smiled sweetly.
Hearing her sister's words, Li Qian was silent for a moment before replying, "I don't know what you're talking about, dear sister."
"Oh? If you really don't know, then I won't hold back."
"You..." Li Qian was about to argue back when Ling Ning returned from the restroom, so she swallowed her words.
"This is better~ Sisters should get along, not hurt each other all the time. Alright, the movie is about to start, let's go in."
"Sure~" Li Meng carefully stood up, immediately clinging to Ling Ning's arm, then shot her sister another challenging look.
