Chapter 124 : This Isn't Some Kind of Ecchi Plot
Sunday quietly arrived.
Today, Li Si was up early—though, in truth, she hadn't really slept much the night before. It wasn't just because Ling Ning had asked her for help, although that was part of it. Most importantly, there had been some great news regarding Zhang San's condition.
One of the people Li Si rescued from the traffickers happened to be the daughter of the director of the "Bury If You Can't Save" hospital. After finding out that Li Si was the one who had saved his daughter, the director offered to cover all the costs for Zhang San's surgery and rehabilitation, even personally taking charge of the operation.
The director of "Bury If You Can't Save" hospital was once known as "Soul Caller from the Underworld" for his remarkable skills. With him handling the surgery, the risk was significantly reduced.
As usual, Li Si opted for a simple outfit—white T-shirt, well-worn jeans, and canvas shoes. Naturally, she wrapped her chest tightly. After all, a flat chest was easier to manage, saved fabric, and made moving around much more convenient. Li Si couldn't imagine having her chest bounce around while fighting or running—it was just too ridiculous.
As for her glasses, she still hadn't replaced the ones she lost during the fight. Without them, her popularity at school had surged—apparently, the girls in her school preferred cute-looking boys. What Li Si didn't notice was that many male classmates were also looking at her with newfound interest. It seemed liking cute boys wasn't just for the girls.
There was a saying: "Japanese people think girls with small fangs are cute, Americans think girls with freckles are cute, and then there's a group that likes girls with a big 'chest.'" Clearly, Li Si was in danger of falling into that last category in their eyes.

At the school gate, the appointed meeting place.
Li Si had arrived half an hour early, thinking that would be more than enough to get there before Ling Ning. But to her surprise, when she reached the meeting spot, Ling Ning was already waiting.
Today, Ling Ning wore a simple black dress, devoid of any fancy decorations, which gave it a plain appearance. On any other girl her age, the dress might have seemed a bit too mature, but on Ling Ning, it exuded an air of mystery.
"Yo~ You’re early." Seeing Li Si approach, Ling Ning greeted her with a smile.
"You too. Why so early..." Li Si said, clearly surprised.
Ling Ning smiled gently and handed Li Si a still-warm breakfast. "I just got here. These are freshly made pork buns, and they're delicious. If you'd been any later, they'd already be in my stomach."
"Th-thanks."
The two walked along the street, with Li Si keeping a step behind Ling Ning as usual, eating the pork bun Ling Ning had bought her, all the while sneaking glances at Ling Ning's back.
After finishing the bun, Li Si suddenly remembered that Ling Ning had asked her for help today.
"Ling Ning, can I ask what you needed my help with today?"
"You'll find out when we get there," Ling Ning replied, her face lighting up with a mysterious smile.
"Oh~ So, where are we going now?"
"My house."
"Oh, your hou—wait, what?! Your house?!" Li Si blinked in disbelief, staring at Ling Ning.
Ling Ning turned her head, rolling her eyes at Li Si. "I'm not bringing a boy home. Why are you getting so worked up?"
Li Si was momentarily speechless. She'd spent so long pretending to be a boy that she'd started to think like one.
Ling Ning's place wasn't far from the school, and they reached her building before Li Si realized it. It was Li Si's first time there, and as she walked in, she looked around curiously, much like a country bumpkin visiting a city mansion for the first time.
It had been some time since Ling Ning last came home. She'd been staying at Qin Qing's house and had almost forgotten about this place. Though she hadn't lived here long, it was still her home, and she couldn't help but feel a warm sense of familiarity.
As Ling Ning walked into the living room, she spotted a small fish barely moving in its tank. She suddenly remembered what she had forgotten when she moved out—her pet fish.
The little fish drifted sluggishly in the tank, looking utterly dejected, its fins drooping. Ling Ning didn't particularly care for this fish, but her daughter did. If it died, Ling Ye would be heartbroken. Hastily, Ling Ning grabbed some "Monthly Ticket Flavored" dog food and sprinkled a bit into the tank.
The moment the fish saw the dog food, its eyes practically lit up, like a pervert spotting a beautiful woman. It seemed to have forgotten how long it had gone without food, and immediately started devouring it. This salted fish was close to becoming a literal dead fish.
Curious, Li Si came over and saw the fish munching on the dog food. She asked, "Ling Ning, why does your fish food look like dog food?"
"Because it is dog food," Ling Ning replied, her face expressionless.
"What?!" Li Si stared at Ling Ning in shock, then turned back to look at the fish tank. She had never heard of fish eating dog food before.
"Forget about it. Come to my room," Ling Ning said, turning and walking into her bedroom.
Li Si froze upon hearing those words, her heart beginning to race uncontrollably. She hesitated for a while before slowly following Ling Ning into her room.
When she entered, she saw Ling Ning sprawled on the bed in a most unladylike manner—her panties were even slightly visible.
Realizing her posture was less than appropriate, Ling Ning shifted awkwardly and then sat up on the bed. She had just lain down out of habit upon seeing her bed.
Noticing Li Si’s flushed face, Ling Ning smirked mischievously. She walked over to the door, locked it, leaned against it, and said with a devilish smile, "Take off your clothes."
"W-what?!"
Hearing those words, Li Si instinctively took a step back. Getting invited in and then immediately being told to strip—this was escalating way too fast! What was this, some kind of ecchi plot?! Li Si had always imagined herself being the one in control, but now Ling Ning seemed more terrifying than a whole army.
Seeing the terrified look on Li Si's face, Ling Ning raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to take them off, or not? If you keep stalling, I'll come over and help you~"
"Y-ya-mete~"
