The war between Jin and Kaido, reported by intelligence operatives, quickly captured the attention of the world's major powers.

The news exploded like a clap of thunder.

One was the "World's Strongest Creature."

The other was the "King of Paradise," hailed as the "World's Strongest Rookie."

Of course, these titles were mostly just hype, cooked up by the newspapers and media to sell more copies.

But they had been embraced by the public.

Kaido's overwhelming power.

Jin's meteoric rise.

Both had shaken the world.

Who was stronger?

The world debated...

The New World was in a frenzy. Countless pirates were chasing the trail of the battle, hoping to witness the clash with their own eyes.

Others were looking to fish in troubled waters, to strike when both sides were weakened and make a name for themselves.

But it was no use.

The two of them were too fast.

They were constantly moving, chasing each other through the sky, their movements completely unpredictable.

Most could only hear the distant sounds of their battle.

They couldn't even catch a glimpse of the fight.

It was inhuman.

The World Economic Journal had offered a massive reward: one clear photograph of the battle was worth ten thousand Berries.

The casinos were running betting pools, attracting hordes of gamblers.

"Gurararara..." Whitebeard laughed as he listened to the news, reminiscing about his own youth, when he had fought with such reckless abandon.

But when Marco told him that a town on one of the islands had been half-destroyed in the fighting, his face darkened.

They were going too far.

—————————

On a small island, a fierce battle had just ended. Zephyr held the pirate captain who had attacked the town in one hand.

"Dammit! Let me go! I'm the man who's going to find the One Piece!"

"One Piece?" Zephyr sneered. "What 'One Piece'? It's brought nothing but sacrifice, sorrow, and pain."

After receiving his prosthetic arm and undergoing cybernetic modifications, Zephyr had refused to be relegated to a desk job in the Marines. He wanted to hunt pirates.

To avenge his family and his students.

But the World Government and Marine Headquarters wouldn't give him the authority.

So he'd struck out on his own.

He had formed the "Neo Marines."

A pirate-hunting force.

Zephyr would turn in the pirates he captured to the Marines in exchange for funding to expand his group. He had liberated towns from the oppression of pirates, and his conviction had drawn many to his cause.

The Neo Marines had grown to a force of over three hundred.

Zephyr tossed the pirate captain to Bins.

"A captain with a bounty of 70 million. Don't let him get away. He's our operating budget... Those bastards at the Marines, refusing to fund us... it pisses me off."

Zephyr had purple hair and wore sunglasses. His right arm and half his body had been replaced with cybernetics. His proportions were a little off, but his massive frame still radiated the aura of a Marine Admiral.

"Yes, Zephyr-sensei."

Vines snaked out from behind Bins and wrapped around the pirate captain.

He was the user of the Paramecia Grow-Grow Fruit, with the ability to control and accelerate the growth of nearby plants.

"Ain, what's the casualty report?" Zephyr asked, looking over at Ain, who was tending to the wounded in the town.

"Still counting, Zephyr-sensei," she replied.

She had long, wavy, sea-blue hair and wore a purple tank top and black short-shorts. An X-shaped scar marked her right leg. She wore black, high-heeled shoes and a blue cloak.

Bins and Ain were two of the survivors of the pirate attack on the Marine training vessel. That shared experience had bound them to Zephyr's side, and they had helped him build the Neo Marines.

There was also another, a man named Shuzo, who was currently leading a team in pursuit of the fleeing pirates. He believed in eradicating evil to the last.

They were the core of the Neo Marines.

"Pirates," Zephyr growled, walking through the smoldering town, the sounds of crackling flames and crying and wailing all around him. "Those villains... are they even worthy of forgiveness?"

Suddenly, he turned his head. He heard a strange sound from the sky, a continuous rumbling, like thunder. And it was getting louder, closer...

Bins, Ain, and the others heard it too.

Everyone looked up.

A whistling sound.

"Hey, is that... a person??" Ain gasped.

A massive figure was falling from the sky like a meteor, tearing through the air.

He crashed into the island's coconut grove, the impact shaking the ground and sending up a massive cloud of dust.

Before they could even react, another figure fell from the sky, hitting the island like a missile.

The dust cloud grew even larger.

"Hey, what's going on?"

Everyone was confused. This was a remote island. News traveled slowly. And Zephyr, though he was still technically a Marine, was unable to receive intelligence support from Headquarters due to the nature of his organization.

But what shocked them even more was the fierce battle that erupted in the coconut grove. It was as if two ancient beasts were tearing each other apart, their terrible power splintering the trees, shaking the very island.

It was terrifying.

A battle of this magnitude... Zephyr thought, his expression grim. He rushed toward the grove.

"Zephyr-sensei!" Bins, Ain, and the others followed.

When he reached the edge of the grove, he saw that a massive, thousand-meter clearing had already been carved out. Trees were scattered like matchsticks, the ground was torn up, and deep craters pockmarked the landscape.

It had only been... less than thirty seconds.

The destructive power of the two combatants was immense.

Zephyr's eyes narrowed.

"Kaido!"

His pupils contracted. Kaido's seven-meter-plus frame was unmistakable.

'Kaido? One of the Four Emperors, Kaido??'

Ain, Bins, and the other students who had followed him were all in shock.

"What is he doing here?" Ain said, a strange look on her face. "And who is that, fighting with Kaido?"

Kaido's club swung in a wide arc, smashing into the ground and tearing the earth asunder. A powerful shockwave erupted from the impact, uprooting the coconut trees and snapping them in two.

"Look out!" Zephyr leaped, shattering the flying trees. Bins and Ain also acted, cutting through the debris. But some of the team members were still sent flying.

"This is insane!" Bins said, his heart pounding. "And this is just the aftershock."

Beneath the club, Jin held his ground, a single fist blocking the blow. A fiery light blazed in his eyes, and an incredible fighting spirit erupted from his body.

He pushed the club away, leaped, and countered with a punch that slammed into Kaido.

Kaido staggered back a dozen steps, the ground cracking beneath his feet. He braced himself and then charged forward again.
