Lin Xinghai didn’t hesitate. Upon returning to the academy, he had Little Fatty handle the Xinghai Squad’s follow-up arrangements.

"Teacher, are you going to the eleventh Abyssal Passage?" Lin Xinghai asked, his expression faltering slightly.

Instructors like Zuo Wenya, who were affiliated with the academy, were typically only called upon for aid. The military would only invite Divine Demon Realm experts from other organizations to assist when they encountered a major problem they felt they couldn’t handle on their own.

’If Zuo Wenya has to go now, doesn’t that mean the situation at the Abyssal Passage is already getting worse?’

Zuo Wenya saw the change in Lin Xinghai’s expression and seemed to guess his thoughts. He chuckled and said, "The situation isn’t as bad as you think. In fact, it’s not just us instructors who are going. Starting tomorrow, the academy will be organizing students to head over in batches. Consider it part of your mid-term exam."

That genuinely surprised Lin Xinghai. "With our strength as students, wouldn’t we just be getting in the way at the Abyssal Passage?"

"I know you must have a lot of questions, but given your status as a First Class Seed, there are some things I can indeed tell you."

"Based on the current situation, with the number of Abyssal Passages constantly increasing, a major war is inevitable. Since that’s the case, it’s better to manage the flow than to try and dam it up completely."

"The country’s high command has now decided to use this newest, the eleventh Abyssal Passage, as a pilot program. We’ll no longer focus on a static defense. Instead, we’ll let them send their Abyssal Creatures through, and we’ll use our home-turf and technological advantages to annihilate them, thereby weakening their forces."

"It will also give the new generation, like you, a chance to get up close and personal with the Abyssal Creatures and gain some early experience."

Lin Xinghai felt somewhat reassured after hearing Zuo Wenya’s explanation.

’So, the situation isn’t out of control. It’s an intentional strategy by the government. That changes the nature of these arrangements entirely.’

Still, he had some lingering questions. "I heard that this time, the number of Third Level Mutated Zombies that have come out of the Abyssal Passage has already surpassed one hundred. With that many of them, isn’t there a real risk of an accident? Or does our country just have a lot of Divine Demon Realm experts?"

Lin Xinghai was genuinely curious, especially about the number of Divine Demon Realm experts. He still didn’t have a clear idea, as it was considered a state secret.

"Hua Country has one of the highest numbers of Divine Demon Realm experts. While I don’t know the exact figure, I can make a rough estimate. For example, here at East Sea Base, the number of Divine Demon Realm experts from the military, the government, and the academy combined is around twenty."

"Other bases might not have quite as many, but they won’t be far behind. So, the total number of Divine Demon Realm experts across the entire country very likely exceeds two hundred. For this operation, at least one hundred will be mobilized."

At this, Zuo Wenya paused before continuing, "Of course, the Divine Demon Realm experts aren’t our greatest asset in daring to do this."

"Because there are at least a hundred intercontinental missiles aimed at that location. If anything goes wrong, the entire area will be scoured with nuclear weapons. That’s why those Third Level Mutated Zombies don’t dare to make a rash move."

Zuo Wenya smiled and patted Lin Xinghai on the shoulder. "So, feeling more at ease now?"

Lin Xinghai hadn’t expected an answer like that. He nodded at once. "Yeah! Definitely much more relieved."

’Of course,’ he mused, ’that’s definitely a last resort. They wouldn’t use it unless it was absolutely critical. Otherwise, the nuclear radiation after the blast would be a massive problem.’

’But nuclear radiation has no effect on the Mutated Zombies. So, after a nuclear strike, if they had to continue defending the Abyssal Passage, they’d be fighting Mutated Zombies while being exposed to radiation. That would be completely fucked.’

"Alright, that’s not why I called you over. I’ve prepared the resources you need for your breakthrough. I had originally planned to personally stand guard for you, but now you’ll have to rely on yourself."

"I know you have a very solid foundation, so normally, breaking through to the Body Shaping Realm shouldn’t be a problem. However, you chose the Thunder Divine Body. Breaking through with it is at least ten times more difficult than with any other Divine Demon Body, so you must be extremely careful during the process."
