Chapter 4245: No Access
Chapter 4245: No Access
With the rest of their platoon joining the fray, the remaining six Godly Spawns were defeated pretty fast. Still, the other new ascenders underestimanted these creatures. They weren’t Rean and Roan, who had their Sky Celestial Energy, Crystal Void Weapons, and Crimson Lightning.
Their attacks were capable of injuring the creatures, but not enough to kill them, even if they had an opening. The Godly Creature’s Bodies were just that tough. Because of that, the first two guys who made use of the openings their platoon created ended up being struck back.
One of them was deeply injured, but he survived and retreated. The other wasn’t so lucky, though. He was killed on the spot, and before anyone could intervene, the Godly Spawn gobbled the new ascender’s body in one go!
In a certain way, you could say it was Rean and Roan’s fault. They made it look a lot easier than it really was, which led to the lapse in judgment by their platoon. Of course, seeing the difference when they were the ones attacking, these old monsters adapted fast and controlled the field. Taking the Godly Spawns down was not too difficult once they knew what to expect. Besides, Rean and Roan were also there.
After the last Godly Spawn died, a group of cultivators quickly took the bodies away to the area where the Godly Crystals were harvested. No one stopped them. According to their guides, like Clayton, every kill was properly recorded, and everyone would receive their fair share of crystals at the end. The Arrays present on the battlefield made sure of that.
Roan’s Crystal Void Scythes disappeared, and he looked at the other new youngster groups or ascender groups around. There were definitely a few losses, but overall, only around two or three percent of those experts really died, and that was mostly in the first clash.
After the first experts fell and the others understood what to expect, it became a lot easier for them to fight. Almost no expert died after the first minute of battle against those Godly Spawns. "Such small losses in front of such huge gains of first-time experiences. The higher-ups know very well what they are doing."
Rean walked to his side, his eyes on the frontlines. "Roan, have you noticed what happened just before Moxin died?"
Moxin was the expert who was eaten after the twins’ platoon joined the fray.
Roan’s expression turned slightly serious as he nodded. "He tried to flee into his Pocket Dimensional Realm."
"Yes," Rean agreed with him. "The others probably noticed that as well. It was obvious how terrified he felt when he failed, but it was already too late."
Roan looked back. "A lot of us were surprised, but many others didn’t seem so. This assault happened too soon for us. A good part of us weren’t given enough time to learn all the information, like the fact that you wouldn’t be able to enter your Pocket Dimensional Realm."
Rean’s consciousness entered their Home Great Void, and he could talk to Sister Orb and Default. However, when he tried to enter the Great Void, nothing happened. Not only that, but he couldn’t send or bring anything from inside either. "It is the same for us. We can’t return to the Great Void."
Roan returned his attention to the battlefield ahead, but his mind entered the Great Void as well. ’Default, is this supposed to be like this?’
’No,’ Default answered instantly. ’Do you remember when I said Sister Orb should try to appear by your side after you got to the Celestial Plane? I said that because, as far as I know, entering and leaving one’s Pocket Dimensional Realm was always possible. That could only be stopped if someone used a Formation... or an Array in the Celestial Plane’s case. There is also the possibility that a strong expert scrambled the Space around the battlefield ahead of time to prevent exactly that.’
He continued. ’However, your battlefield definitely doesn’t have any array preventing it. Werkitt said that your Besgol Region has only two Law God Realm Experts. They should be able to scramble the space, but I highly doubt they are doing it to you right now. Why would they waste their time with that? Not to mention, they would only be able to do it on one battlefield, and only in a small area of it. Law Gods aren’t anything special. Their power has a limited range.’
’Would they have any special reason to scramble the space of your battlefield specifically, considering there are hundreds of battlefields during this Godly Creatures Assault right now?’
"What about the Godly Creatures themselves?" Rean asked.
’Even less likely,’ Default assured. ’Level Four Godly Creatures, or Godly Horrors, seem to be the limit of the attacks against your region. Godly Horrors still don’t have intelligence, so they wouldn’t think about it. Even if they could think, they would need to get much closer to you to scramble your space. Trust me, if a Godly Horror had appeared in your battlefield, you would have noticed.’
[Guys,] Sister Orb took from there. [You saw it as well. Quite a lot of the new ascenders and the youngsters seemed to know about it ahead of time. Only those who are too new and haven’t had a chance to hear about it are surprised to find out. That said, this is likely something common that happens everywhere all the time, not just in your battlefield.]
Rean and Roan had to agree with Sister Orb. ’Well, Default and the other Primordial Beasts had been trapped for countless years, ages, eons. It is very possible that something happened while you were out, Default.’
Default didn’t like it, but he saw no flaw in Sister Orb and Rean’s theory. ’The only question is what happened while I was out. I think I’ll pay a visit to the Celestial Plane.’
’Can you come here?’ Rean asked.
’Obviously!’ and Default answered. ’Try to find the other Primordial Beasts, for example. Tharos, Hick, Aurethra, and Xyrath have already gone up. We ascended in the past, remember? The only reason we couldn’t go to the Celestial Plane was that we were trapped inside the Werdlem Empire’s Bubble.’
The twins focused on the Great Void, and sure enough, they couldn’t find those four Primordial Beasts. ’So that’s how it is...’
’Of course,’ Default didn’t forget, ’We are bound to our Home Great Void, which now you know is called Vinx. We can’t stay out for long periods of time, so you will see us returning from time to time, whether we want it or not.’
’Yes, you mentioned that before, too,’ Rean nodded.
Then, Roan saw Clayton approaching. "You’re here. Could you tell us more about why we can’t enter our Pocket Dimensional Realms? Shouldn’t you have mentioned that ahead of time?"
Clayton was taken aback. "This... Sorry, it was my failure. Seniors should have been warned indeed. It’s just that everyone usually learns about it on their own. However, because the time between your arrival and the assault was so short, I forgot to mention something so obvious for me, but naturally not for new ascenders like seniors."
Roan could easily tell Clayton wasn’t lying. Clayton was simply used to it. "Whatever. So? Why are Pocket Dimensional Realms not working?"
