The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor

Chapter 434 - 332: Assisting Move (Part 2)

In any case, since Sifrin herself had this idea, Cleia was more than willing to give her a push. The kind of push with bad intentions from the Windsor Clan was unacceptable, but if it was to seek a happy and fulfilling life for Sifrin, then it was okay.

After all, given Lynn’s current status, expanding the harem was foreseeable in the future. If Sifrin didn’t make a significant breakthrough before the expansion, it’s hard to say how far back she’d be pushed, considering Lynn had a bit of a distaste for Sifrin.

If Sifrin didn’t take the initiative, she might have to wait until Lynn felt downright hopeless before she could gain anything...

"So, consider it a favor to me, and let’s just put Sifrin’s name down for the list, okay? Just this once over the next couple of days?"

Cleia never asked anyone for anything, but to ensure that her dear cousin could find happiness, she was willing to lower her pride and plead with Lynn.

Although she never held a high and aloof demeanor like she did with others in front of Lynn, she also never showed such vulnerability before, making it her first time speaking softly.

"But I’ve just got back and haven’t even brushed my teeth yet..."

Among Lynn’s household, there were many who were freely offered, some even throwing themselves at him, but being forcibly brought to him at the door was a first.

If Cleia had brought one of the Princesses of the Six Kingdoms, or even Little Sour Radish or Little Eve, it would have been acceptable, but for it to be Sifrin...

As Lynn spoke, he turned his head to glance at Sifrin, who was obviously well-dressed and standing beside Cleia, holding onto Cleia’s sleeves with both hands, looking unexpectedly graceful and elegant for a change.

It wasn’t that Sifrin’s makeup had changed her much, and Lynn had never denied her beauty; it was just that Sifrin had been staying home for a while now. Although Lynn traveled between two worlds, he often saw Sifrin, and from his observations, ever since she became a maternal caretaker, she’d seemed more mellow; yet, she was still five Vivians away from being truly graceful.

So, what was up with this "graceful, elegant, and not at all mischievous" appearance now?

Could this be the legendary case of a British cop becoming pliant when abroad?

But she hadn’t even been investigated yet...

Perplexed, Lynn was ready to decline.

However, before he could utter a word, the unusually docile Sifrin, not her usual boisterous self, suddenly shrank behind Cleia, only revealing half her face from behind the taller Cleia’s shoulder.

Although only half of Sifrin’s face was visible, it was hard to discern all of her emotions, but those lively eyes were just brimming with drama.

Lynn could see hope, longing, grievance, reluctance, conflict, resignation, gloom...

Those were just a pair of eyes, and calling them beautiful wouldn’t be too much, yet they expressed so many emotions, changing frame by frame. With such acting skills, even film kings and queens might bow and call her "sister."

"If...if it’s not possible, please don’t refuse me outright. Let me leave quietly, holding onto a last thread of hope, waiting for that chance that might never come in decades, centuries..."

As Sifrin spoke, the half of her face peeking from behind Cleia suddenly seemed to be hit by a natural disaster. It was no longer just a "pearl in the rain," but like the heavens had opened a shower on her.

Even separated by Cleia, Lynn could sense the scent of green tea, but he couldn’t deny that Sifrin looked much more pleasing when crying like this.

Because her previous impression on him was so poor, whenever Lynn saw her, he had the urge to mock her. Yet because Sifrin was merely mischievous, but never crossing any boundaries, finding the opportunity to properly "teach her a lesson" was quite challenging.

Therefore, Sifrin crying was a sight Lynn had always wanted to see—seeing her cry genuinely made him happy, even if it was faked.

Of course, if she could cry particularly loudly, that would be even better...

Who knows if Sifrin had some special ability to see through the thoughts of a True God. Seeing that Lynn was still unresponsive, her tears, originally like a showerhead, turned into a sprinkler truck, pouring out as if they were free, mixed with increasingly audible wails.

Lynn could only wonder how tender Sifrin really was, with so much moisture; it felt like taking her to a desert and squeezing her cheeks could stave off a drought for three years...

"Lynn, say something!"

Given Cleia’s understanding of Sifrin, she knew that even when Sifrin cried her heart out, it might not be out of genuine sadness. However, with her wails so loud, there was perhaps some sincere sorrow involved.

"What am I supposed to say? Sifrin was recommended by Hilvy and now has your support. Even though I’m someone who knows when to stop, sometimes you need to give your lady a little face."

As Lynn said this, he raised his left hand, lifting the loudly sobbing Sifrin into the air, twisting her as if evacuating excess water after laundry, wringing out remnants of Water Magic before pulling the embarassedly scratching her head Saintess of Light beside him.

"I know your acting’s good, but this time, I’ve seen through it."

Standing a head shorter than Lynn, Sifrin had to tilt her head up to meet his eyes when facing him directly, yet Lynn only needed to slightly lower his head to catch the tears she was stubbornly holding back in her eyes.

She wasn’t using Water Magic Items to feign crying to deceive Lynn; she was hiding her almost genuine tears of helplessness with the flood of fake ones.

The lively husky was not always carefree. Just like a typical girl, she also had her authentic emotions.

And even true huskies, eventually come into season...

"I didn’t! I don’t even like you that much! It’s just the family’s task! Hmph!"

Blushing red, Sifrin huffed and turned her head away the moment Lynn stared at her for two seconds, seemingly unwilling to let him see the defiance in her eyes.

"Tsundere is out of style now. This trick isn’t as good as the last."

Lynn didn’t let Sifrin carry on her act but instead pinched her cheeks to turn her back around, determined to look into her eyes.

"Affection won’t work, tsundere won’t do, the ice queen is Cleia’s attribute. I can’t steal her persona right in front of her. As for other traits, I could turn adorable into mischievous, nobody would believe obedient anyway, and as for being cute, I can’t outdo Lina and her twin. So, what else do you want me to do?"

With her cheeks pinched, Sifrin spoke in a muffled voice, sounding indignant and ready to cry again at a moment’s disagreement.

"Just be yourself. You’re mischievous, I treat you as lively. You’re more anthropomorphic, I just won’t treat you as human. Isn’t that great?"

As Lynn’s words fell, the clever Sifrin tried to make a getaway, but no matter how fast she was, she couldn’t be quicker than the hand speed of a True God. She barely turned half her body, and just started moving her long legs, before Lynn lifted her off her feet.

So Cleia ended up watching as Lynn lifted Sifrin like a little chicken, with Sifrin stepping mid-air trying to escape, only to rack up a lot of movement without actually moving at all.

"Why don’t I book it for three years later? Once the three-year period arrives, we’ll immediately fulfill the marriage contract, alright?"

Sifrin was one to be flexible. Seeing her wish fulfilled while being on the brink of disaster, she quickly conceded.

Even though gaining happiness while missing the prime of youth felt like a loss, it was better than being seen as a practice test for unlocking all achievements...

"You want a three-year promise with me? You’re a little rich miss, not poor..."

Sifrin declared that she couldn’t understand Lynn’s reference, but she could tell that he was teasing a young girl...

Cleia, the observer on the side, opportunely... no wait, wasn’t she supposed to assist?

In any case, once Cleia realized the atmosphere was either wrong or exactly right, she left the room to the boisterous, solitary man and playful husky.
