Under Lynn’s persistent refusals and rejections, the Seven Great Demon Kings never gave up the idea of competing with him for the custody of Little Youli.

But once Little Youli spoke up, the Seven Great Demon Kings stood at attention, expressing their willingness to listen to the Guardian Demon God’s oracle.

That’s right, in their eyes, Little Youli’s "golden words" were equivalent to mortals hearing a Divine Oracle. Even though she was just a Sub-Soul, the Guardian Demon God was her, and the Sub-Soul was her—they both belonged to the same Demon God King. They couldn’t look down on her just because the Sub-Soul had a lower soul content and was somewhat faint in soul.

"Since Lord Yuri likes it this way, then let it be. However, we dare not become Lord Yuri’s mothers, not even as aunts. Lord Yuri can directly call us by our names, and if there’s anything needed, feel free to instruct us, and we will do our utmost to fulfill it!"

Lynn letting Lord Yuri call him dad might be considered blasphemous, deserving a bashing, but if Lord Yuri herself wants to call Lynn dad, then that is the Demon God’s will, which must not be defied.

In reality, the Seven Great Demon Kings are quite persuadable; the difference lies in who is doing the persuading.

"Hey, hey, so what if I want you to be my mothers, isn’t that okay?"

Little Youli is still young and doesn’t understand the wondrous nature of power. She doesn’t really want seven obedient subordinates; she’d much prefer to have loving mothers.

But listening to Lord Yuri’s orders would directly constitute blasphemy.

Between slightly defying orders and seriously offending the Demon God, they naturally choose the less harmful and insulting option.

"Alright then... so Little Youli will have seven less moms, but that’s not a big deal. As long as Lynn Dad doesn’t have seven fewer wives, otherwise, Lynn Dad would definitely be unhappy."

The two little ones carefully observed their changing expressions, fearing a less favorable response.

However, the adults were too good at managing their emotions, so the kids couldn’t fathom their thoughts.

All they could read from the expressions on the Demon King aunties’ faces were the words "Don’t speak, I’m thinking."

Only the face of the youngest Demon King auntie seemed to say "Don’t speak, I’m grilling..."

After a long while, having privately exchanged and discussed who knows how much, the Seven Great Demon Kings eventually sent Ilya to speak on their behalf.

"Alright, Lord Yuri’s companion deserves better treatment."

Ilya and her fellows reluctantly admitted that they would give special treatment to Yuna, who belonged to the opposing camp.

As the devout followers of the Guardian Demon God, they only held the basic respect for the Destruction Demon God that one would give to a Demon God King. Their factions had always been competitive, having fought more battles against each other than against Miracle World over the years.

If they had encountered the Destruction Demon God’s vessel under other circumstances, they might have even considered destroying it.

Previously, they deliberately ignored Little Yuna, mainly to give Lynn some face and at least not harm his daughter, but not harming was pretty much as good as it was going to get.

They couldn’t possibly accept the vessel of the Destruction Demon God as a daughter. While it’s not entirely impossible for them to "defy the hierarchy" outside of faith-related situations, as devout followings of the Guardian Demon God, how could they get intimately involved with the Sub-Soul of the Destruction Demon God?

Even if the Guardian Demon God wouldn’t suspect them of betrayal, they couldn’t do such a thing. Recognizing an enemy as a daughter might sound bold, but in reality, it comes with too many troubles.

But since Lord Yuri has spoken, they can’t just pretend not to hear. They must agree but with subtle wordplay—merely saying they shall treat her better, not necessarily equally...

This technically doesn’t count as defying the oracle, it’s more about the way of the world.

After all, even the most selfless and greatest demon can’t perfectly equate an adopted daughter with a biological one, so who could fault them for not treating the daughter of an enemy demon the same as their own child?
