Chapter 118 -: 117 A nightmare.[1]
"Fire blast!"
On the eastern side of the purple forest, a small team of four students was fighting hard.
Two boys and two girls stood together, facing five dangerous Time-Rewinding Purple Wolves.
The wolves looked a lot like normal wolves, but their fur was a deep, glowing purple.
Their eyes shone with the same bright purple color, and each one had a sharp horn sticking out from its forehead.
They were a bit smaller than regular wolves, but their killing intent made them feel much scarier.
One wolf, clearly the leader, howled loudly as a fireball slammed into its side, burning a deep wound into its purple fur.
But then...
"Howl!!"
The leader threw its head back and roared.
The horn on its forehead flashed with bright purple light.
In the next second, the nasty burn on its body started healing right before everyone’s eyes.
The wound closed up as if time itself was running backwards!
"Attack their throats! Kill them with one strike!" shouted Lana, the girl with soft wavy hair.
She dashed forward bravely.
"I’ll trap four of them! Marie, go with Dave and Ryan, you three handle the leader!"
Marie nodded quickly and rushed ahead.
Dave and Ryan moved fast too, heading straight for the big leader wolf.
"Infinite cast!" Lana yelled as she slammed both hands onto the ground. "Earth Shell!"
"Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!"
The ground shook violently.
Cracks spread everywhere as a thick wall of earth burst upward.
At the same time, Marie raised her hand and shouted, "Infinite cast! Confused Bunch!"
A bright yellow circle appeared in her palm.
Golden light shot out and washed over the four smaller wolves.
Their fierce eyes suddenly went blank.
Their heads tilted in confusion, and they froze for a moment, looking dizzy and lost.
"Bam!"
Lana’s spell finished forming.
A giant shell made of hard earth rose from the ground and completely trapped the four confused wolves inside.
The moment the shell closed, the wolves snapped out of their daze and started howling and crashing against the walls in anger.
"Howl!!!!"
The leader wolf roared with pure rage when it saw its pack trapped.
But before it could do anything, Dave appeared right in front of it.
He was holding a huge, heavy mace.
With a loud battle cry, he swung the mace down with all his strength.
"BAM!!"
The heavy weapon smashed into the leader wolf with a thunderous sound.
"Thwack!"
A sickening crunch echoed through the trees as Dave’s heavy mace smashed straight into the leader wolf’s head.
The blow was so powerful that the sharp horn was driven deep into its own skull instead of breaking off.
"Crash!"
The wolf’s head slammed into the ground like a rotten tomato.
Blood sprayed everywhere in a messy burst.
The leader didn’t even get a chance to roar or use its time-rewinding power.
It just stopped breathing or to be more precise, there was nothing left in its head to breathe with.
"Uhhhhhh!!!" Dave roared in victory, raising his bloody mace high in the air.
Ryan, who had been about to attack, canceled his spell and walked over with a big smile.
He gave Dave a friendly tap on the back. "Well done! Now let’s finish the other four!"
The two boys turned and walked toward the giant earth shell where the remaining wolves were trapped.
Lana was covered in sweat, her hands still pressed forward as she struggled to hold the shell in place.
Dave stepped up and gently tapped the hard earth wall.
"You can let go now, Lana."
"Okay!" Lana nodded quickly.
She pulled her hands back, and the earth shell sank smoothly into the ground with a soft rumble.
The four Time-Rewinding Purple Wolves, who had been crashing and howling inside, suddenly saw daylight again.
They looked up with fierce purple eyes, ready to attack.
But at that exact moment...
"Die, you fuckers!!!" Dave yelled.
His massive mace came crashing down with terrifying speed.
"BAM!!!!"
All four wolf skulls exploded at the same time like overripe tomatoes.
Blood, bone, and purple fur scattered in every direction.
"Good job, guys!"
Lana said with a big smile as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.
She walked over and gathered everyone together.
The four teammates stood in a happy little circle, their faces glowing with excitement.
Lana looked at their chest badges and grinned.
"Marie, Ryan, and I have already reached 97 kills," she said, her voice full of energy.
"We just need three more each!"
Everyone glanced down at the glowing numbers on their badges.
Sure enough, 97 shone brightly on three of them.
Only Dave was behind, his badge showed 87. He still needed 10 more wolves.
It had already been three full days since they entered this floor.
In that time, they had killed many Time-Rewinding Purple Wolves, but they never rushed.
They worked smart as a team.
They always let the weaker members get their kills first.
Marie had been the first to reach 97, and it was done on purpose.
No one wanted to accidentally hit exactly 100 too early.
If someone killed one extra wolf by mistake, they would be sent straight to the second floor without the others.
Lana smiled brightly at her teammates, her eyes sparkling.
"Thanks to our great teamwork, we’ve come this far together," she said warmly.
"We’re almost there!"
"Hahaha!" Ryan laughed, scratching his cheek. "You’re right. Our teamwork is the best among all the students!"
"Right?" Marie agreed with a soft chuckle.
"Yeah, I think so too," Dave nodded as he casually lifted his heavy mace onto his shoulder.
Lana looked at her three friends with pride shining in her eyes.
They weren’t strangers, they had known each other since their first year.
Because they understood one another so well, their cooperation was one of the strongest in the whole group.
"Haa..." Lana let out a long breath of relief and smiled.
"Okay guys, let’s move out. We’re just a few kills away. We will finish th..."
She suddenly stopped talking mid-sentence.
"Grrrr... grrr... grrr... grr..."
The low, angry sound of teeth grinding echoed from all around them in the purple forest.
"Hmm?" Lana hummed, tilting her head.
She looked at her friends with a puzzled expression.
They looked just as confused.
Slowly, all four of them turned to see what was making the noise.
However, the moment they turned...
