Athanasia: My Hacker System

John ran towards the closest location of the enemy. On the map, there was one invader activating the isolation dome. Yet whenever he got closer, he noticed a few other red dots coming from the inside of the department, before they passed through the wall and joined the one he was targeting.

"Ten enemies? It seems you expected me to come, bastard."

John didn't feel pressured; he already had a plan in mind. From his talk with Natalie, he realised he was overly cautious, not to realise that his abilities and sword were considered normal in this world.

So he decided to use the most accepted power of his, his sword.

"Lightning Dance!"

John didn't even wait to inspect the structure of the eleven enemies. The moment he drew closer, he instantly activated his deadliest sword special effect.

The next thing that happened was for tons of sword shadows to appear and dance, slash and attack all the enemies within his range of effect. He didn't stop there, and added Speed Lock ability to augment his movement and cover up the enemies fast and not allow them to escape.

The eleven enemies were taken by surprise. They were all cyborgs, with special abilities of fire, water, ice, and even lightning. Yet nothing did anything to John thanks to his high speed. He didn't activate his absolute defence ability, or else he might expose himself.

He simply used his super speed to evade the attacks. He moved with calm and wisdom, making sure he wouldn't get hit and his enemies would be showered by the sword shadows till they all fell down.

"One group down, more to come."

John didn't hesitate to destroy the device these cyborgs were using to activate the dome using his sword. One slash and the device got destroyed, then he noticed the descending speed of the dome, which was initially slow, but became slower.

Then he turned to the next target, and started running.

The next fights were the same. The only difference was that more enemies were sent by Mark in an attempt to stop him, yet all failed. Against his experienced movement and rich battle experience, he gained from the brutal fights at the pocket trial and the new world; these fights were mere breeze to him.

Yet by the time he reached his fifth battle, something new happened.

Instead of sending enemies towards him, the enemies moved inside the department, leaving the device behind. John simply crushed it, then moved to attack the next target when he noticed something.

"They returned and laid another device?"

John frowned when he saw that on his map. When he checked other spots, he noticed the same thing happening as well. To him, it felt like a futile attempt, and yet he felt something was wrong.

"Why are you wasting both of our time? What are you waiting for?"

John didn't hurry to circle the areas he visited to destroy those devices again. Noticing something was off, John didn't hesitate to take a broader look over the map.

Whenever he did, his heart skipped a beat. His focus was entirely on the Military Department. He wanted to stop whatever Mark planned to isolate the department with. Yet whenever he looked way beyond the department, even beyond his club base, he noticed something scary.

There, at the far distance, almost several miles away, another group of cyborgs were scattered on a larger scope, all using the same devices, and another dome was slowly falling on top of the department and the club.

Seeing this froze John in place for a few seconds as the implications of this were quite severe. If the dome fell, then it would isolate him and his team members.

If that happened, then everything they planned and prepared for would be gone.

[Come out now! Leave the area around the club, move towards the outside for a few miles and kill the enemies outside the falling dome!]

John didn't hesitate, took out the device he received from Ricky and relayed the distress order to everyone. He didn't hesitate and activated his Speed Lock ability in succession, pushing himself far and moving like a bolt of lightning outwards.

At least even if his friends couldn't make it out, he would still make it.

He didn't check his map; he kept moving forward and pushing himself to the limit. The distance that would normally take a few minutes was crossed in half a minute, bringing him closer to the first target.

He knew his friends wouldn't make it if he left the dome alone. The dome was descending faster than the one inside. And so he moved towards the closest group, didn't care about facing twenty enemies at once, and instantly wreaked havoc among them.

The first thing he hit was the device, then he unleashed a barrage of sword shadows and killed everyone in less than a minute. When he looked up, he saw the dome descending in fast motion, not affected by the device he destroyed in the slightest.

"Dammit!" he gritted his teeth, "I was complacent and negligent!"

When he checked his map, he counted how many red groups were out there. There were around fifty groups, each composed of twenty enemies, and all were working together to bring that dome down fast.

Even if he destroyed a few of those devices, it wouldn't make a difference. Not to mention the area he had to cover was quite vast. There was literally no hope of stopping it, and his friends were far behind. Unless…

[Elena, Cissel… Use your speed abilities to the max. don't hold back, use the abilities non-stop and cross the border of the dome before it falls down.]

He instantly gave new orders, specifically mentioning these two. He didn't have any time to pick who could pass or not. He wanted the fastest to cross the distance as soon as possible.

To his surprise, it wasn't only Cissel and Elena, but Ben also moved fast using his ability. John totally forgot he could merge with the tornado, and it was the first time he had seen him implement the ability to cross a big distance in no time.
