Chapter 225 215 : Weird
Hughie sat on the sofa inside the private room, fidgeting so much that he could barely keep his hands still.
The longer he waited, the more convinced he became that he must have lost every remaining brain cell to agree to Butcher's plan.
If things went wrong, he wasn't dealing with an ordinary man. He was dealing with a Supe who was very interested in men, and that single fact was enough to make Hughie question every life decision that had brought him here.
The thought that he could get raped by a Supe if everything completely fell apart kept forcing its way into his mind, and that possibility alone made his rear tighten with fear.
"Jesus Christ, why did I agree to this?" he thought while rubbing his face. "I should've stayed at home. I should've gotten a normal job. I should've ignored Billy the first time I met him."
The door finally opened. Ezekiel stepped into the room and immediately looked Hughie up and down.
"Huh. I heard a new guy came tonight, but you aren't exactly handsome," Ezekiel said with a disappointed expression.
Hughie forced a polite smile. Inside his head, however, the response was much less friendly.
Fuck you. Do you seriously think I care about your opinion? I'm not here to win a beauty pageant.
Ezekiel laughed softly and closed the door behind him. "But don't worry. There is a certain satisfaction in breaking in a newcomer."
The sentence hit Hughie like a truck. Every alarm bell inside his brain started ringing at once.
Nope. Absolutely not. Billy, you better come in here right now before this conversation gets any worse.
Ezekiel smacked his lips and slowly walked toward the sofa with complete confidence. Meanwhile, Hughie's survival instincts had already begun drafting resignation letters from reality itself.
Ezekiel sat down beside him and casually placed a hand on Hughie's thigh, giving it a gentle pat as if encouraging him to relax. The gesture alone made Hughie want to leave his own body.
On the outside, he forced an awkward smile. Inside, he was having a complete mental breakdown.
Billy, you absolute psychopath. I swear to God, if I survive tonight, I'm never listening to another one of your plans again.
At the same time, outside the private room, Butcher and Mother's Milk stood near the corridor entrance.
Two security guards remained posted nearby, and several Supes wandered through the club, making any direct move risky.
Butcher peered toward the closed door with irritation. "Well, that's a complication we didn't bloody account for."
Mother's Milk folded his arms. "The plan was for Ezekiel to use his usual room. Frenchie said there was a ventilation entrance connected to it."
"Aye," Butcher replied, "but the slippery bastard changed locations tonight, and we ain't got time to search the entire buildin' for another way in."
Mother's Milk glanced back toward the door. "I think Hughie's getting a bit fucked up in there."
Butcher remained silent for a moment. "Poor lad's earnin' his stripes tonight," he muttered.

Ezekiel leaned closer. Hughie immediately raised both hands and pushed against his chest.
"Don't come near me, you weird creepy bastard."
Instead of being offended, Ezekiel laughed.
"Resistance? That actually makes things more interesting. Most people are either terrified or desperate to impress me."
Before Hughie could move away, Ezekiel's arm stretched unnaturally across the sofa and hooked around his shoulders, keeping him from getting up.
As Hughie struggled to create some distance, the sudden movement pulled against the curtains covering the large decorative window. The fabric slipped loose and dropped aside, exposing the glass to the street outside.
Hughie instinctively looked through it. Then his eyes widened.
Across the road, under the streetlights, stood a familiar white-haired figure.
Outside the building, Ethan was taking Kimiko for a walk, figuring that getting her away from enclosed spaces for a while would help her become more comfortable with the city and with ordinary people. The two happened to pass by the club — then Ethan glanced toward the window.
What he saw made him stop. Hughie was pressed awkwardly against the glass with Ezekiel far too close for comfort.
Without hesitation, Ethan placed a hand over Kimiko's eyes and gently turned her head away.
"Yeah... let's pretend we never saw that."
Kimiko tilted her head in confusion.
Ethan remained completely bewildered. "When the hell did Hughie become gay?"
He genuinely couldn't remember missing a development that important. For several seconds he simply stared at the window, trying to process the situation.
"Either I've misunderstood something," he muttered, "or that bloke has a far stranger social life than I thought."
Hughie saw Ethan standing outside the window. Relief hit him so hard that he almost cried.
"Help me!" he shouted while struggling against Ezekiel's grip.
Outside, Ethan stopped. "Help?"
For a moment he genuinely wondered whether he had misunderstood the situation — he had interfered with enough important events already.
Maybe this was another one of those moments where changing something earlier had created an entirely different outcome.
His senses spread through the building. Almost immediately, he found Butcher and Mother's Milk just outside the private room.
Two guards stood in front of the entrance, and several Supes occupied the surrounding area. Getting inside quietly was no longer possible.
Ethan sighed. "So that's what's happening."
Inside the corridor, Butcher clicked his tongue. "The bloody plan's gone to shit. We should've accounted for the possibility of a room change."
Mother's Milk kept watching the door. "And Hughie is still in there."
Before either man could decide what to do next, reality shifted. Ethan snapped his fingers.
The world around Butcher and M.M. blurred. One moment they stood in the corridor — the next they were inside the private room.
Mother's Milk nearly stumbled forward, eyes wide as he immediately raised his fists. "What the hell just happened?"
Butcher looked around in complete confusion. Hughie stood near the window looking absolutely terrified while Ezekiel stared at the two new arrivals in disbelief.
Even for a man accustomed to bizarre situations, instant teleportation wasn't something he expected to experience on a Friday night.
Hughie had never been happier to see them.
