Chapter 203 : Chapter 203
Chapter 203. The Western Continent Lizard Alliance Enters the Fray
William followed Lynn’s gaze and looked up into the high sky. The clouds churned like ink, and apart from the occasional energy aftershock tearing through the firmament, there was nothing unusual.
Fenlilan lightly rubbed his fingertip over his Spatial Ring. After pondering for a moment, he spoke.
“Continue according to the plan.”
He raised his head and swept his gaze over everyone’s grave faces. His voice was as steady as a boulder.
“If there truly is a Demigod Realm existence up there, it should have already entered the field to seize the divinity. There is no need for it to keep wasting time in the sky.”
“Most likely, they are only some worthless rats hiding their heads and showing their tails. Once we obtain the divinity, they will naturally reveal themselves.”
Everyone exchanged glances, suppressed the unease in their hearts, and continued lying in wait behind the fractured rocks.
This chaotic battle lasted for two full days and nights.
The collisions between Domain-Level Powerhouses tore open Spatial Rifts. From time to time, powerhouses fell amid exploding light. Their corpses smashed into the ruins, and the splattered blood foam was soon evaporated by the energy aftershocks.
The Holy Light Bishop’s white robe was soaked through with blood. Mog’s dark-purple Dou Qi grew thinner and thinner. Even Pandora’s gilded armor was covered in cracks.
All three sides had fought until they were completely spent. That mass of Impure Divinity flickered between bright and dark at the center of the battlefield, becoming the final piece of tempting meat.
Just as Pandora gathered her last strength and prepared to completely defeat the Bishop and Mog, a thunderous HUM suddenly came from the sky.
A massive Gnome Airship broke through the clouds, and the magic cannon barrels embedded in its steel hull glimmered with an eerie light.
Before anyone could react, orcs of all shapes and forms leaped down from the airship.
There were werewolves with exposed fangs, bearmen covered in rock armor, and Lizardman Shamans holding Bone Staffs.
Their totem markings were strange and unfamiliar. Clearly, they did not belong to the Orc Alliance of the Northern Continent.
“Kill…”
The werewolf at their head cracked the ground when he landed. With a swing of the giant axe in his hand, he split a Holy Light Knight in two.
These orcs had no formation or discipline. They hacked at anyone they saw. Whether it was the Holy Light, Blackgold, or Radiant Sun side, all became their targets. In an instant, the three-way melee was stirred into complete chaos.
Pandora looked at the black flag hanging from the airship, and her expression changed abruptly. She cursed sharply, “Savages from the Western Continent! You want to take advantage of us? Dream on.”
She suddenly took out a glowing green leaf. Visible Life Force flowed across the leaf. It was the “Leaf of Life” treasured by the Elf Clan.
As she activated her mana, the leaf transformed into countless points of light, scattering like spring rain over the Radiant Sun powerhouses.
Those powerhouses who had been on the verge of collapse instantly surged in aura. Their wounds healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, and battle intent reignited in their exhausted eyes.
“Seize the divinity!”
Pandora swung her sword and split apart the charging bearman. Golden Dou Qi erupted like a blazing sun.
“Show this scum from the Western Continent that some things are not theirs to take.”
The Holy Light Bishop and Mog also sensed that something was wrong. They temporarily stopped fighting each other and each gathered their remaining forces to resist the orcs’ surprise attack.
Above the ruins, four forces slaughtered one another in a tangled mess. The radiance of colliding energy almost illuminated half the sky.
Behind the fractured rocks, a sharp light flashed in Fenlilan’s eyes.
“The opportunity has come.”
He pointed directly at the center of the battlefield.
“These newly arrived orcs have disrupted their formations. If we act now, no one will be able to spare the attention to stop us!”
William tightened his grip on his sword hilt. Behind him, Darwin let out a low chant, his dragon pupils locking onto the increasingly unstable mass of divinity.
Fenlilan directly gave orders to the Domain-Level Powerhouses beside him.
“Move. First, collect the scattered fragments of divinity.”
Several figures darted out from behind the fractured rock layer like ghosts, their target clear.
The corpses of the Domain-Level Powerhouses who had just fallen.
Some of the corpses still had a faint halo lingering on them. Those were fragments of totem divinity refined from the Totem Pillar. These were private gains secretly made by the Domain-Level Powerhouses of the Three Great Empires. After all, which Domain-Level Powerhouse did not want to advance to Demigod?
At the center of the battlefield, the four-way melee was in full swing.
The werewolf’s giant axe swept across the field, shattering a Holy Light Knight’s shield.
The Dark Mages of the Blackgold Empire chanted spells, and black mist coiled around the ankles of Radiant Sun soldiers.
Every swing of Pandora’s longsword “Dawn” carried blazing Dou Qi capable of tearing space apart, yet she was always held back by three or four orcs.
No one noticed that people in the shadows were silently harvesting the scattered divinity.
In this life-and-death slaughter, no one had the energy to care about those “scraps.”
“We have collected almost enough.”
Fenlilan looked at the powerhouses returning one after another. The fragments of divinity inside the Crystal Bottle had already accumulated to nearly half a bottle.
“The divinity on Pandora and the others is the real prize, but charging in now would be a direct clash. It is not worth it.”
Behind the fractured rock layer, William and Dragon Mother Daenerys continued lying in wait.
Darwin’s Dragon Breath lingered around William, forming a layer of camouflage that almost blended into the rocks.
His gaze remained fixed on the battlefield, and his fingertips unconsciously rubbed his Spatial Ring.
“Do not use that connection unless there is no other choice.”
Daenerys spoke in a low voice. The scales of the Red-Gold Dragon rose and fell slightly in the shadows.
“Once a Demigod intervenes, the entire balance of power on the Southern Continent will collapse. We may not necessarily gain any advantage.”
“After all, the Three Great Empires also have Demigods. They are not the slightest bit afraid of the Two Great Ancient Races.”
William nodded.
His very existence was an invisible deterrent.
Pandora, the Bishop, Mog, and even those Western Continent orcs who had suddenly appeared all vaguely knew that he had close ties with Dragon Island and the Elf Clan. They also understood the terror of Demigods.
That fear of provoking consequences forced them to leave one final Bottom Line in the melee and stopped them from acting with complete abandon. This was precisely part of Fenlilan’s plan.
At the edge of the battlefield, a Lizardman Shaman seemed to sense something. He raised his Bone Staff and pointed it toward the fractured rock layer, chanting under his breath.
A dark-green curse arrow tore through the air, but before it could touch the rock layer, it was shattered by the Dragon Might Daenerys released with a wave of her hand.
“We have been discovered.”
