Chapter 41 : Chapter 41
Chapter 41. Contact, The News Spreads
The power of laws swirling around Fenlilan’s fingertips flowed like water across the Spatial Rift. Golden runes circulated along the edge of the crack, temporarily sealing that hidden danger firmly in place.
He glanced at the remaining Crawlers inside the Secret Realm. His figure suddenly blurred, and in the next moment he had already appeared in the depths of the Secret Realm.
Several Foreign Race Legends who had attempted to hide had just begun to roar when the power of laws that surged out of nowhere crushed them into nothingness, not even leaving behind a trace of aura.
Only after eliminating all threats did Fenlilan turn and step out of the Secret Realm.
A biting wind carrying snowflakes rushed toward him. He raised his hand and set up a communication array. The moment the runes lit up, it connected with the communication crystal on Kroll II.
“Ancestor! How is the situation?”
Kroll II’s voice carried an urgency he could hardly conceal. When it came through the array, it was still trembling slightly.
“It has been resolved.”
Fenlilan’s voice was calm and without ripples.
“The Domain and Legend inside have already been cleared. Let your Legions enter for training.”
“Really?!” Kroll II’s voice suddenly rose, filled with wild joy. “That’s wonderful! Ancestor, you—”
“Mm.”
Fenlilan said no more. He directly cut off the communication, his figure turning into a streak of light as he disappeared into the snowstorm of the Northern Frontier.
Inside the central command tent of Dragonfang Fortress, Kroll II held the communication crystal and paced excitedly on the spot.
Even the snowstorm outside the window seemed gentler because of the news. He suddenly stopped, and a determined light flashed in his eyes.
In order to seize this Secret Realm, the Royal Family had paid the price of eight Legends. Now the matter had finally been settled.
“Someone!”
He raised his voice.
A Griffin Rider quickly entered the tent and knelt on one knee in salute. “Your Majesty.”
“Deliver my orders.”
Kroll II’s tone grew steady, carrying unquestionable authority.
“First, go to Giant Frost Fortress and inform Duke Lane and Duke Carden that the Secret Realm has stabilized. Tell them to immediately gather their forces and drive those Barbarians out. Increase the pace.”
“Second, notify Derek Fortress. The Royal Second Monster Legion is to immediately move to the Secret Realm Entrance and station there. Set up strict defenses. Not a single Crawler must be allowed to slip out.”
“Yes! Your Majesty!”
The Griffin Rider accepted the order and strode out. The sound of armor clashing echoed outside the tent.
Kroll II walked to the map, his fingertip landing on the position of the Secret Realm in the Northern Frontier.
This dangerous land that had devoured countless lives would now become a cradle for cultivating the Royal Family’s combat strength.
He took a deep breath. Although the winters of the Northern Frontier were cold, the spring belonging to the Royal Family might not be far away.
Kroll II summoned the commanders and deputy commanders of the nine Legions that had not yet departed and told them the news, naturally to set their minds at ease.
Inside the central command tent, the commanders and deputy commanders of the nine Legions gathered together. The cold gleam of their armor reflected the candlelight, and a lingering heaviness still hung in the air.
Kroll II stood in the middle of the tent. His gaze swept across their tense faces before he slowly spoke.
“I have just received news. Ancestor Fenlilan has already eliminated the Domain and Legendary Foreign Races inside the Secret Realm.”
“The Secret Realm… has been reclaimed.”
The tent fell silent for a moment before cheers burst out uncontrollably.
Someone slammed the table hard. Someone rubbed their hands in excitement. Even the most composed Legion commanders could not help but reveal smiles.
“Excellent! We can finally breathe easy!”
“With this Secret Realm as a training ground, the Legions’ combat strength will definitely rise to a new level within three years!”
“The ancestors who died in battle… did not sacrifice themselves in vain…”
Amid the discussions, Kroll II raised his hand slightly, and the tent quickly quieted.
Looking at the fighting spirit rekindled in their eyes, he said in a deep voice, “Be happy if you must, but the important matters cannot be delayed.”
“Our next task is training the troops.”
“The Crawlers in the Secret Realm are not much of a threat. They are perfect for these new soldiers to practice on.”
“All of you must stay fully alert. No mistakes are allowed.”
“Yes! Your Majesty!”
Everyone responded in unison, their voices so loud that a few specks of dust fell from the top of the tent.
“Good.”
Kroll II nodded.
“The plan remains unchanged. The entire army will march toward the Secret Realm Entrance.”
He looked at one of them.
“Commander of the Second Legion, go notify the First Legion and inform them of this news.”
“This subordinate obeys!”
The commander of the Second Legion cupped his fists and accepted the order before quickly leaving the tent with the others.
Only Kroll II remained inside. He walked to the map and traced the lines connecting the Secret Realm Entrance and the stationed Legions with his fingertip.
Reclaiming the Secret Realm was only the first step. How to properly utilize this dangerous land to elevate the kingdom’s foundation to a higher level was the more important matter.
When William tied the final piece of luggage onto his saddle, the camp ahead was still busy packing supplies.
The rumbling of wagon wheels rolling over frozen soil mixed with the shouts of soldiers, sounding somewhat sluggish. He was staring absentmindedly at the distant formation when light footsteps approached from afar.
“Little William, fantastic news!”
Jessy’s face was full of excitement, and she waved a freshly delivered note in her hand.
“Ancestor Fenlilan has already wiped out all the Domain and Legendary Foreign Races inside the Secret Realm!”
“That place is now our ready-made training ground. We do not have to worry about a Foreign Race counterattack anymore!”
William was stunned for a moment. Then a genuine smile spread across his face, and the tension that had been weighing on him for days instantly eased.
“Really? That’s wonderful.”
The sacrifice of the Royal Family’s eight Legends had not been in vain. The Northern Frontier could finally catch its breath.
The news seemed to grow wings and quickly spread throughout the entire camp.
The soldiers who had been slowly packing their belongings suddenly seemed filled with energy. The speed of tying up tents doubled, and the teams transporting grain and supplies began moving more frequently.
Even the noble youths who had been full of complaints now showed a hint of anticipation on their faces. Being able to train in the Secret Realm was a rare opportunity for anyone.
In less than half an hour, the nine Legions left Dragonfang Fortress one after another.
The sound of the horn rang out again. This time, it no longer carried suppression but instead brimmed with high morale.
The great army resembled a black dragon as it advanced toward the depths of the Northern Frontier.
Wagon wheels rolled across the frozen river, producing creaking sounds. William and Jessy walked side by side, looking at the endless line of troops ahead and the faint outline of snow mountains in the distance.
The cold wind was still biting, but as it blew across their faces, it seemed slightly less piercing.
“When we enter the Secret Realm, I must take a good look at what the nests of those Foreign Races look like.”
Jessy played with the reins, curiosity shining in her eyes.
William smiled.
“Third Sister, take care of yourself first. Even without the Domain and Legends, those Crawlers are not easy to deal with.”
