The SSS Ranked Demon King Goes to the Hero Academy

Chapter 60: Chopping Monsters. (4)

The lizard man showed no mercy.

With a quick gesture, he ripped off the armor covering his chest.

With a bite, he broke the metal helmet covering his head, and with a tail swipe sent him flying to the other end of the cafeteria, making him embed into a wall again.

There, the lizard man didn’t hesitate and kept attacking, opening his jaw and sending from his mouth a stream of blue plasma.

Jeremy quickly put his arms in a cross in front of him and activated an energy shield.

However, the plasma pierced through the shield and reached Jeremy’s arms, melting his armor and drawing a scream of pain from the man.

Hearing that, Aku turned.

Should he save him or was it better to let him die?

The lizard man glared at his enemy, his bright eyes piercing.

Then the lizard stretched out his hand. As he did so, the black metal of the armor deformed, taking the shape of an axe.

The lizard man then shot toward Jeremy. However, just before reaching him, the entire place filled with blue particles.

"Now you’ll see, you shitty lizard!" Jeremy roared.

Aku was surprised at what he saw. Jeremy had created a mini tank around himself, not only to protect himself but also to attack.

The tank’s cannon aimed at the lizard man at that precise moment as it began charging energy of a sky-blue color.

"Grrr?" The lizard man was confused, seeing how a gigantic object had suddenly appeared in the cafeteria.

However, he acted quickly. He wasn’t going to let the cannon charge its attack. He wasn’t stupid. He was aware that when energy gathered in one place, it wasn’t a good sign, and it was better to cut off the source at its origin.

The lizard attacked quickly, cutting the cannon in two. However, the blue particles that constituted the cannon’s structure decomposed and recomposed in an instant, right when the lizard man had made his cut.

A gigantic energy shot was launched from the cannon’s tip toward the lizard man, who barely had time to manipulate his armor’s metal to cover his entire body.

The energy shot was powerful enough to open a hole in the floor.

This time the armor had withstood the blow, though it was red-hot. It cooled little by little.

After all, Jeremy hadn’t learned from his mistake and had again attacked with a light attack a lizard man covered with armor made of metal with the property of absorbing light.

However, the lizard man didn’t fall. He had created a network of black metal beneath his feet to avoid falling.

"Grrr," the lizard man growled as he created another axe in his other hand.

Quickly the lizard man propelled himself, cutting the tank’s cannon into little pieces and then making two powerful cuts to the vehicle, seeking to pierce through it.

Seeing one blow wasn’t enough, the lizard man began hitting the tank’s armor multiple times, seeking to break it.

"Motherfucker, that damn shitty lizard is persistent," Jeremy cursed as the tank glowed sky-blue again.

The tank decomposed and recomposed as a different machine.

An arachnid robot that struck the lizard man with its metallic legs.

The lizard man had to be quick and block the blow with his tail. However, when more robotic legs tried to hit him, he had to get serious.

The spider and the lizard man began a powerful exchange of blows. The lizard man used his axes to repel the mechanical legs’ attacks while the arachnid robot attacked faster and faster.

Aku watched the scene attentively. Hundreds of blow exchanges in a second.

Sometimes the lizard man managed to cut off one of the arachnid robot’s legs, but it regenerated immediately.

Other times the spider managed to land a blow on the lizard man, but he didn’t move a centimeter, as if it barely scratched him. Moreover, thanks to the armor’s weight, he didn’t go flying.

The demon king crossed his arms as he observed the battle. Perhaps he wouldn’t need to intervene.

Something good, undoubtedly, because he didn’t want to have to show his power in action, especially after seeing how that machine had learned from the lizard man’s combat style and used it against him.

Jeremy didn’t seem like someone reliable enough to show his power to.

Something that could be used against him in the future, and he didn’t want to run that risk.

"Let’s try something different," Jeremy then said as his robot’s legs suddenly changed shape.

A chainsaw, mechanical claws, a mechanical saw, a flamethrower.

That among other things was what the arachnid robot’s mechanical legs became.

Suddenly the robotic spider’s attacks became more versatile. However, they were just as fast.

Things were getting complicated for the lizard man, who didn’t notice how the arachnid robot was dissecting the metal network beneath his feet.

The lizard barely had time to jump when he noticed the floor he had created with metal was falling. However, that jump was exactly what Jeremy was looking for.

"Bomboclap!" Jeremy exclaimed as the spider’s legs moved apart, revealing an energy cannon ready to fire.

Jeremy’s plan had been to force the lizard man to jump so he couldn’t dodge a charged attack.

Since seeing the lizard man had resisted the first attack, Jeremy concluded he just had to charge a stronger attack to win.

However, the lizard wasn’t foolish either.

As soon as he saw what his opponent had planned, he concentrated much of his armor’s metal in front of him in a cone-shaped shield.

The energy shot was brutal.

A column of red energy shot from the spider robot’s core, fired with immense power.

Aku had to quickly surround himself with azoth because the ray the robot expelled was so intense it heated the entire cafeteria.

However, it hadn’t achieved its objective.

The metal shield deflected much of the energy thanks to its conical shape while the rest of the energy was absorbed.

Aku sighed. Jeremy really hadn’t realized the property of that metal.

Fearing Jeremy would resort to increasingly powerful attacks, Aku was forced to intervene.

"Hey you! His armor’s metal absorbs light. Energy attacks aren’t going to work," Aku commented aloud, hoping Jeremy would hear him.

The man growled with anger, still inside the spider robot.

"I already figured that out, bastard! If you wanted to help, you could have warned me a little earlier!" Jeremy roared with rage, clearly angry that his plans hadn’t been fruitful.

Though the truth was Aku did have reasons to fear Jeremy’s stubbornness, since the latter was already planning to fire an even more powerful energy ray.

Right at that moment, the lizard man shot at tremendous speed again toward the arachnid robot, this time armed with sabers much lighter than the weapons he had carried before.

This time the lizard warrior came out winning in the exchange of blows, cutting at high speed each leg with which the arachnid robot tried to attack him.

Apparently the lizard warrior didn’t need an advanced computer program to read his enemy’s movements and learn patterns.

The arachnid robot’s legs were cut with quick and precise movements, which was chained with a thrust aimed at the arachnid robot’s core.

However, the robot expelled its core as if it were a cannon projectile.

The lizard man had to act quickly and fuse the swords together to form a large mace which he used to forcefully strike the marble, breaking it into a thousand pieces.

Then the robot leg pieces that had been cut glowed, becoming mechanical insects that lunged at the lizard man ferociously.

The mechanical insects gripped the lizard man’s body forcefully as they tried to pierce through his armor with their steel mandibles.

The insects squeezed, exerting great pressure on the armor. However, right at that instant, several spikes emerged from the armor, piercing through the insects.

"Ha! You fell for it, you fucking bastard lizard!" Jeremy exclaimed at that instant.

Upon saying that, the insects that had been impaled by the armor’s metal stakes began to swell like a balloon until they exploded, releasing a toxic green liquid.

"If energy doesn’t work, I’ll use acid!" Jeremy announced with an arrogant smile.

Those insects had released quite a powerful acid that had begun corroding the lizard man’s armor.

Aku was surprised by that strategy. In the end, it turned out Jeremy wasn’t as stupid as he appeared to be.

Seeing how the acid consumed his armor little by little, the lizard man acted quickly, expelling the metal away from his skin and replacing it with the black metal he had left on the ground to fill the hole the energy ray had left.

The liquid metal then positioned itself on his back, forming metallic wings that allowed him to remain suspended in the air.

The climax moment of the battle had arrived.
