Chapter 3234: The Fuse

Fang Heng’s return to the Noel Clan caused quite a stir among the clan’s high-ranking members.
On the surface, the recent conflict with the Noel Clan seemed to have started entirely because of Fang Heng.
There was still no evidence that the spawns had sabotaged a Noel Clan ship during the joint battle against the Seed of Ouroboros. The Noel Clan had chosen to tolerate it. However, the spawns repeatedly pushed their advantage, even attempting to forcibly board alien ships for inspection and detaining Noel Clan vessels.
The Noel Clan could not accept this and thus broke off relations with the spawns.
Now, to hear that Fang Heng had not died?
The Noel Clan’s high-ranking members were struck by a strange, inexplicable feeling.
The spawns had put in so much effort, yet in the end, they had failed to kill Fang Heng?
It was almost laughable.
Even so, the grudges between the Noel Clan and the spawns would not end so easily.
Fang Heng was merely a catalyst.
The deeper conflicts between the spawns and the Noel Clan had existed for a long time. The clan’s high-ranking members had long harbored dissatisfaction with the spawns, and anger had been building for some time.
Taking advantage of the God Clan’s favor, the spawns had continuously encroached on the Noel Clan’s external interests. Recruiting the Noel Clan’s martial artists and poaching them had been just one example.
The recent incident involving Fang Heng appeared, in the eyes of the Noel Clan, to be a test.
If the Noel Clan showed weakness again, the spawns would only push further next time.
The Noel Clan had survived to the present, so they were not fools. Once they learned that Fang Heng had the ability to control mutant worms and the Black Fog, they almost immediately linked him to the attacks on high-ranking spawns and the various events in the Ice Soul World.
It was now clear that Fang Heng was very likely the leader of the vampires, or at least a top-level operative among them, possessing the ability to control both the Seed of Ouroboros and the Black Fog.
Involving the Black Fog Game and the Seed of Ouroboros, the Noel Clan had no choice but to act cautiously.
The Black Fog was like a virus, spreading and emerging in tiny corners of the universe, while the Seed of Ouroboros had once nearly wiped out all forces in the Seven Realms Martial Capital, making it extremely dangerous.
Regarding Fang Heng, the Noel Clan’s high-ranking members were also divided in opinion.
Their greatest concern was not the spawns, but the God Clan’s stance toward the Black Fog Game.
If it became implicated, the clan might risk annihilation.
Self-preservation was undoubtedly the safest choice.
After spending most of the night deliberating, the high-ranking members reached a consensus.
"I will go see him."
One elder of the Noel Clan stood, his eyes glinting with interest. "I have never heard of anyone breaking through transcendent demigod-level consecutively in such a short time, and already approaching the edge of God-level."
The next morning, An Qian arrived at the villa with Ambrose, the great elder of the Noel Clan’s Elders Council.
An Qian bowed and introduced, "This is Elder Ambrose. This is Mr. Fang Heng."
"Elder."
Fang Heng bowed politely to the short elder at the door and invited them into the villa.
"An impressive young man. I have already heard some details about you from the captain and An Qian."
Among many races, the Noel Clan was long-lived, possessing extended lifespans. Elder Ambrose was short, with a graying beard, and his body frail.
He followed Fang Heng into the villa and sat across from him, nodding. "Fang Heng, thank you for helping the ships escape. Without you, the entire fleet would have been swallowed by the worm swarm, a huge loss for the Noel Clan."
Fang Heng felt slightly embarrassed and cupped his hands politely. "Elder, you are too kind. The ships encountering spatial turbulence was most likely caused by spawns working in secret. Ultimately, it was my fault that the Noel Clan’s fleet was affected..."
"Don’t talk about fault. Since you are a martial artist recruited by the Noel Clan, we should be responsible for your safety."
Ambrose nodded with a smile, observing Fang Heng, his eyes carrying a subtle intensity.
He could not discern Fang Heng’s academic level?
Had Fang Heng developed the ability to hide his aura, or had his academic level already reached the threshold of God-level?
Fang Heng noticed Elder Ambrose watching him and gestured subtly to An Qian.
Half an hour ago, An Qian had said she was bringing a martial artist who had mastered God-level disciplines.
Was it him?
An Qian respectfully stood behind the elder and nodded slightly to Fang Heng.
"Elder."
Fang Heng went straight to the point. "My academic abilities have reached a bottleneck. I wish to know how to advance to God-level disciplines, and I am willing to offer some compensation..."
Elder Ambrose seemed to have already guessed the general idea. He waved his hand, stopping Fang Heng from continuing.
"Before we proceed, the Noel Clan’s high-ranking members have already discussed this matter. Listen to our perspective first."
"Please, elder."
"We all know you are involved in the recent Black Fog and vampire incidents. Currently, news of your survival is limited to the Noel Clan’s high-ranking members, but I believe this news will spread soon."
"The spawns will not stop pursuing you in the short term. At the moment, they are facing some internal problems, and the Seven Realms Martial Capital is also affected by the mutant worm disaster. They may not be able to focus on you for now. Once the spawns regain the chance, they will not let you go."
Elder Ambrose intentionally did not mention the God Clan, then paused before continuing.
"Your existence will intensify the conflict between us and the spawns, something we, the Noel Clan, do not wish to see. Now is not the time for a death struggle with the spawns."
"With your status, it is no longer appropriate for you to remain as a martial artist within the Noel Clan."
Fang Heng listened and nodded quietly, as he had anticipated.
To cause such a conflict with the spawns over a recruited martial artist, the Noel Clan had done remarkably well to reach this point.
He was slightly disappointed, but it did not matter. With the God’s Eye, breaking through would not be too difficult. If needed, he could find another way.
Perhaps he could consult the Evil Clan for information.
"However..."
Elder Ambrose’s tone shifted, his eyes sharpening. "Fang Heng, I think we can explore another form of cooperation."
"Hmm?"
Fang Heng raised his head and asked, "What kind of cooperation?"
"The Noel Clan is now in a full cold war with the spawns and cannot actively attack them, but the vampires have no such concerns."
"We hope to leverage the vampires’ strength to jointly strike against the spawns."
