The tiger's roar did not stop. It continued for ten seconds. The sound waves hit the walls and bounced back. Because of that, the players who were already on the floor felt their eardrums burst. Fresh blood ran down their necks.

The tiger was now twice its original size. Its blue fur was matted with purple mana. The purple mana leaked from its skin and hovered in the air. It looked like a thick fog. The tiger's eyes were no longer blue. They were a dark, glowing purple. It took a step forward. The stone floor beneath its paw did not just crack. It turned into black liquid.

Leonhardt Weiss tried to lift his head. His golden armor was shattered. The divine light was gone. He tried to grip his sword, but his fingers were broken. Because of that, the sword slipped from his hand.

"Move..." Leonhardt whispered.

He could not move. The purple mana in the air was heavy. It acted like a weight. It was more powerful than the previous fear aura.

The tiger turned its head toward the Rankers. It saw Sasha Kim trying to crawl away. She had no ammunition left. Her artillery was broken. The tiger jumped. It did not use a skill. It just used its physical strength.

BOOM!

The tiger landed near Sasha. The shockwave sent her flying into a stone pillar. She hit the pillar and fell. She did not get up.

Hyeonwoo tried to cast a spell. He pointed his broken staff at the tiger.

"『Mana Bolt』..."

A small blue light came from the staff. It hit the tiger's shoulder. The purple mana around the tiger swallowed the bolt. It did not do any damage. The tiger looked at Hyeonwoo. It swiped its tail. The smoky tail was now a solid purple blade.

The tail hit Hyeonwoo's chest. His mana shield shattered instantly. He was thrown backward. He landed near Gunnar Volkov. Gunnar was still unconscious.

The Rankers were overwhelmed. They could no longer fight. They were lying in the sludge. Their mana pools were empty. Their bodies were broken.

The porters were watching from the corner. They were protected by a small mana barrier that Hyeonwoo had cast earlier. But the barrier was flickering. It was about to fail.

Park, the veteran porter, looked at the tiger. His hands were shaking. He looked at Min-ho and Han.

"This is bad," Park said. "The Rankers are done. If we stay here, we are next."

Min-ho looked at the tiger. He looked at his own hands. He was a porter. He carried crates. He did not fight monsters.

"Should we intervene?" Min-ho asked.

Park shook his head immediately. "No. It is against the code. Porters are not to involve themselves in fights during a raid. That is a rule. If we fight and survive, we will be blacklisted by every guild."

"The guilds won't exist if everyone dies here!" Han shouted.

Woonhee was standing at the front of the group. She was staring at the tiger. She heard Park and Han. She tightened her grip on her backpack.

"Park-ssi is right about the rule," Woonhee said. "But he is wrong about the situation."

Park looked at her. "What do you mean?"

"If the Rankers die, the barrier fails. If the barrier fails, we die. This is not a raid anymore. This is a survival mission," Woonhee said. Her voice was steady. "We are porters, but we are also players. We have levels. We have skills. They are low level, but we have them."

Because Woonhee said this, the other porters looked at each other. They were all E-rank or D-rank players. They had basic skills like 『Light Bolt』, 『Rock Throw』, or 『Acid Splash』.

"We have to do something," Woonhee said. "Otherwise, we die in the next five minutes. Everyone, prepare your long-range skills."

The porters began to move. There were twelve of them. They stood in a line.

"On my mark," Woonhee said.

The tiger was walking toward Leonhardt. It opened its mouth. A sphere of purple mana began to form. It was going to finish him.

"Fire!" Woonhee shouted.

Twelve low-level skills hit the tiger at once.

『Magic Arrow』!

『Fire Bolt』!

『Stone Shot』!

The attacks were weak. They did not pierce the tiger's skin. But they were enough to distract it. The purple sphere in the tiger's mouth dissipated. The tiger turned its head. It looked at the porters.

It was angry. A group of ants had just bitten it.

The tiger roared and began to run toward the porters.

"Keep firing!" Woonhee yelled.

The porters fired again. They were using their MP fast. Because they were low level, their mana pools were small. After three volleys, half of them were empty.

'This is not enough. We are just poking it. We need something that can actually stop it. If only Kang Min were here. He would have killed this thing in one blow. He wouldn't even have used a skill.'

Woonhee reached into a small pocket on her belt. She pulled out a stone. It was a rune. It was a rare item she had found in a hidden chest on the second floor. She had been keeping it to sell. It was worth at least 50 million.

The rune was a [Summoner's Blessing]. It increased the power of a summon by 300% for five minutes.

Woonhee looked at the tiger. It was twenty meters away. It was moving fast.

She checked her status window.

[Random Summon: 1 point remaining.]

She had one chance. In the past, she always summoned slimes. Slimes were useless in a fight. They just sat there and dissolved sludge.

'Please. Not a slime. Give me something that can fight. I don't want to die here. Please.'

She crushed the rune in her hand. The purple stone turned into dust and entered her body. Her mana pool began to glow.

"『Random Summon』!"

The system message appeared.

[Skill: Random Summon has been activated.]

[Random Summon remaining: 0.]

A circle of white light appeared on the floor in front of Woonhee. It was large. It was two meters in diameter. The light was so bright that the purple mana fog was pushed back.

The tiger stopped. it sensed a new power.

From the center of the light, a figure appeared.

It was a knight. He was seven feet tall. He wore full plate armor that was pure white. There were no decorations on the armor. It was plain and functional. He held a massive claymore in his right hand. The sword was also white.

The knight did not talk. He did not have a name above his head. He just stood there.

"A knight..." Woonhee whispered. She felt a wave of relief. It was not a slime.

The tiger roared. It jumped at the knight.

The white knight did not dodge. He did not move his feet. He raised his claymore.

CLANG!

The tiger's claws hit the white sword. The knight did not move an inch. He was like a wall. The tiger was pushed back.

"Everyone, get behind me!" Woonhee shouted to the other porters.

The porters moved behind Woonhee. The white knight stood between them and the beast.

The tiger tried to move around the knight to get to the porters. But the knight was fast. He did not attack. He only moved to block. Every time the tiger lunged, the white knight was there. He intercepted every strike.

Because the knight was playing defense, the porters were safe for now. But the tiger was becoming more violent. The purple mana was leaking from its body in larger amounts.

Then, the air changed.

It became cold.

It was not a normal cold. It was a freezing chill that felt like needles hitting the skin.

The porters looked toward the center of the room. They looked at the Demon King's body.

The giant meatball of flesh was no longer red. It was turning grey. An ice breeze began to blow from the body. It carried a dark, purple mana.

"What is that?" Min-ho asked. His breath was visible in the air.

The players on the ground were also noticing. Leonhardt Weiss looked at the meatball.

"It's not over..." Leonhardt said. His voice was trembling from the cold. "If that thing fully manifests... we're done for."

"We have to destroy it now!" Sasha Kim yelled. She tried to stand up, but she fell back down.

One of the Iron Aegis players, a warrior named Boris, managed to stand. He was bleeding from his head. He gripped his mace.

"I'll break it!" Boris shouted.

He ran toward the Demon King's body. He raised his mace. He was five meters away when the meatball emitted a massive blast of ice.

WHOOSH!

The ice breeze hit Boris. He was blown away instantly. He hit the ground and slid thirty meters. His armor was covered in frost.

The ground around the Demon King's body began to change. The black sludge turned into ice. The ice was not flat. It grew into jagged spikes. These spikes spread outward in every direction.

"Get back!"

The ice spikes reached the players. Leonhardt had to roll away. Hyeonwoo used his last bit of mana to create a small heat shield.

The cold became more intense.

Everyone's bodies began to change. Ice patches started to form on their armor and skin. It happened in segments. A patch on the shoulder. A patch on the leg. The air was so cold that it hurt to breathe.

"What the hell is descending?" Park asked. He was hugging himself. His eyebrows were white with frost.

The Demon King's body was no longer a meatball. It had become a shell of ice. It was a giant, irregular sphere of translucent purple ice. The edges were uneven and sharp.

The room was silent now. The only sound was the crackling of the ice spikes as they grew.

Suddenly, the top of the ice shell cracked.

CRACK.

A hole appeared in the ice.

A human arm shot through the hole.

The arm was bare.

The arm gripped the edge of the ice hole and pulled.

A shoulder came out next.

Then the movement stopped for a second.

The person inside seemed to be pushing against the shell.

CRACK. SHATTER.

The top of the ice shell exploded.

A man pushed himself through the opening. His head came out first. Then his torso.

Woonhee opened her mouth. Her heart stopped for a second.

"K-Kang Min..."
