Chapter 8 : Chapter 8
Chapter 8: The Unexpected
Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun and Lin Aoxue were walking through the cultivation marketplace with astonished expressions on their faces.
“So this is a cultivation sect? The things being sold here are truly extraordinary. There are even so many medicinal herbs I have never seen before,” Ye Liuyun said excitedly while looking at the shops that sold herbs.
As for Lin Aoxue, her attention was focused on the weapon shops. The weapons sold here came in all kinds of varieties, and she particularly liked swords.
However, just as the two of them were completely absorbed in looking around, a streak of light suddenly descended from the sky, accompanied by a powerful fluctuation of spiritual energy, and landed directly in front of Lin Aoxue.
“Huh? Greetings, Sect Master.”
The surrounding disciples immediately bowed respectfully once they recognized the newcomer.
Lin Aoxue and Ye Liuyun were startled by the sudden appearance of the woman.
However, when they heard the others address her as Sect Master, they immediately realized who she was.
They had not expected that the Sect Master of Yunxia Sect would appear before them.
Ye Liuyun quickly lowered her head in respect, but when Lin Aoxue saw the woman before her, she froze for a moment before revealing a surprised expression.
“Is it you? The fairy sister who taught me cultivation back then?” Lin Aoxue recognized her at a glance.
“Hehehe, little girl, you still remember me? Back then I asked you to come with me, but you refused no matter what. Yet now you have come here on your own,” Yun Yun said with an amused smile.
Lin Aoxue looked a little embarrassed and instinctively glanced at Ye Liuyun.
At that moment, Ye Liuyun understood that the cultivation technique Lin Aoxue possessed had been taught to her by the Sect Master of Yunxia Sect.
So she had already taken a liking to Lin Aoxue long ago.
“Well… I… actually did not want to come here either,” Lin Aoxue said weakly.
Yun Yun was momentarily stunned but did not think too deeply about it.
“Alright, alright. Since you are already here, you cannot refuse this time. Your aptitude is exceptional. There is no need for you to remain an outer sect disciple. I told you back then that if you were willing, I would personally accept you as my direct disciple. Come with me,” Yun Yun said with a gentle smile before waving her hand and lifting Lin Aoxue into the air.
Then she flew away.
“Wait! I still have something to tell my sister!” Lin Aoxue said anxiously.
“What is the hurry? That girl is now also a disciple of the sect. You will have plenty of time to talk to her later. For now, you should follow me to the inner sect,” Yun Yun replied with a smile.
And just like that, Lin Aoxue was taken away by Yun Yun, leaving Ye Liuyun standing there in complete confusion.
“What… what just happened? Aoxue was taken away?” Ye Liuyun stood there for quite a while before she could process it.
“What is so surprising about that? Your little wife is not only a pure wind spiritual root, but she also possesses the Feathered Immortal Physique. Her aptitude is far superior to yours. She is destined to become one of the enlightened figures of this era in the Human Realm,” Lin Qingyou said with a sigh.
Ye Liuyun was stunned.
“Feathered Immortal Physique? What is that? Is it powerful? Hey, old demoness, are you hiding a lot of things from me? So Aoxue is far stronger than I am?” Ye Liuyun asked repeatedly.
“You compared yourself to her? Forget it. Your aptitude is far too poor. If you had not encountered me, you would have spent this entire life as a minor cultivator—or perhaps you would not even have become a cultivator at all,” Lin Qingyou replied with a look of disdain.
Ye Liuyun’s mouth twitched violently when she heard that.
“Hey! You look so beautiful, so why are your words so poisonous? Can you not give me a little face?” Ye Liuyun complained.
“Hehe. If you look so well-behaved, why do you keep calling me an old demoness?” Lin Qingyou retorted.
When they first met, this woman had wanted Ye Liuyun to accept her as a master. At first, Ye Liuyun had trusted Lin Qingyou. However, after she finished cultivating Lin Qingyou’s technique, she felt she had been tricked.
Still, she took a deep breath and began asking about various aspects of cultivation knowledge.
Lin Qingyou answered every question without holding anything back. By the time Ye Liuyun found the Sect Affairs Pavilion, she had already learned quite a bit about aptitude.
“Damn… I did not expect my aptitude to be this terrible. Sigh. Comparing people really makes one furious,” Ye Liuyun sighed.
“Hahaha, do not think too much about it. As long as you cultivate the technique I created, you only need to keep a low profile and slowly raise your realm. After all, you cannot die. Sooner or later, you will ascend to the Immortal Realm,” Lin Qingyou said proudly.
Ye Liuyun was speechless.
She then walked into the Sect Affairs Pavilion.
“Hello, Senior Sister. I am a newly admitted disciple,” Ye Liuyun said as she handed over her entry token to the disciple guarding the place.
The other woman merely glanced at Ye Liuyun before signaling for her to follow.
After entering a separate room, the female disciple said calmly, “Take off your clothes.”
“Huh? Why?” Ye Liuyun froze.
“Why? Naturally, I can measure your body. Now that you have joined Yunxia Sect, you must wear the sect’s disciple uniform,” the female disciple said while rolling her eyes.
Once Ye Liuyun heard this, she obediently complied. After she removed her clothes, the disciple used a measuring tape to measure various parts of her body before turning to retrieve a set of clothes.
However, when the clothes were brought over, Ye Liuyun’s face immediately turned green.
“Senior Sister… may I apply for the male disciple uniform instead?” Ye Liuyun asked stiffly while looking at the clothes.
The Entry Disciple uniform was simply too… feminine.
It consisted of a white knee-length skirt, a cloud-patterned upper garment, and embroidered shoes. It even looked somewhat tight.
She truly did not want to wear such feminine clothing, especially something so girlish.
Spending too much time surrounded by feminine things would inevitably push her further and further down the path of becoming a woman.
She still hoped to turn back into a man one day. If even her behavior and clothing became completely feminine, then even if she turned back into a man in the future, she would feel like a pervert.
The style of the clothing resembled the outfits worn by underage girls in the mortal world.
Clothing in the Tang Kingdom had strict age regulations.
Men and women of different ages had to wear clothing styles appropriate for their age.
This was especially strict for women.
Girls under sixteen wore skirts that reached the knees. Unmarried women over sixteen wore skirts that reached the feet. After marriage, they could no longer wear maiden-style clothing.
Men had similar distinctions, though they were not as obvious and were not strictly enforced.
“Huh? No. Sect rules state that clothing must follow the required standards within the sect. Take it,” the female disciple said helplessly before stuffing the clothes into Ye Liuyun’s hands.
“Eh?” Ye Liuyun wanted to say something more, but the disciple had no intention of listening.
“Change into it here. Come find me after you are done,” the female disciple said before leaving the room.
That left Ye Liuyun standing there alone in awkward silence.
“Sigh, kid. It seems you are going further and further down the path of becoming a woman. I wonder—after being a woman for long enough, will you still want to become a man again? Hahaha…” Lin Qingyou laughed again.
“Get lost, you old demoness who never has good intentions,” Ye Liuyun said, her face turning red with frustration.
But she had no choice now.
Taking a deep breath, she removed the clothes she was currently wearing, which did not fit very well anyway.
Fortunately, she had already adapted somewhat over the past three years. If someone had suddenly forced her to wear women’s clothing back then, she probably would have wanted to crawl into a hole and hide.
Still, to be honest, the material of the clothing was quite nice. It felt smooth.
She put on the garments one by one.
Surprisingly, although the clothes looked small, they fit her perfectly once she wore them—not too loose and not too tight.
It was as if the clothing had elasticity and automatically adjusted its size.
