Chapter 199 - 108: First Try at Archery
Zhao Ruoxuan was still holding her phone in a daze, recording a video, and suddenly realized she had captured the previous scene.
She excitedly said to Li Younan, "Brother Younan, I got it, I got it, that shot you made just now was awesome!"
Li Younan slowly lowered his bow and smiled, "Got it, got it, send me the video later."
This was just a small episode, and everyone marveled at how lucky Li Younan was to shoot such an extraordinary arrow.
After that, the camping and barbecue continued.
Today was purely a day of relaxation, no traveling, no exhaustion, just lounging around a hillside meadow whose scenery might not even represent Jiuzhaigou, enjoying barbecue, resting a bit, feeling the cool mountain breeze, admiring the valley view, and listening to the calls of unknown birds, it was very pleasant.
By the time they finished packing up to go down the mountain, it was almost 4 PM.
After getting down from the mountain, they went back to the hotel to rest for a while, just in time for dinner.
As usual, Ze Wangxiu’s car led the way, and Li Younan followed down.
At Ze Wangxiu’s café, he stopped again.
After getting out of the car, Ze Wangxiu had a few words with the workers, and Li Younan followed suit, taking out his phone to snap some photos.
After arriving at their accommodation, Ze Wangxiu jumped out of the car and came over to ask Li Younan, "What do you want to eat tonight?"
Li Younan quickly said, "Let us treat you tonight."
Ze Wangxiu laughed heartily, "No reason for you guests to pay."
Li Younan frowned, "You treated us yesterday, and today you took us up the mountain for a barbecue. We can’t let you spend any more."
Ze Wangxiu nonchalantly said, "Nonsense, don’t be so stingy, alright?"
Li Younan was momentarily speechless, stingy? Is that how it’s defined?
Amid the pulling back and forth, Ze Wangxiu’s phone rang.
Seeing the caller, his expression changed slightly, and he picked it up, exchanging a few words in Tibetan.
Even though Li Younan couldn’t understand, he could see Ze Wangxiu’s expression turn a bit serious, and he hung up the call somewhat unhappily.
Li Younan tentatively asked, "Is something wrong? If you need to, go handle your stuff tonight."
Ze Wangxiu chuckled, "It’s nothing, let’s go for yak hotpot tonight, that’s settled. I’ll call you when it’s time to eat."
That evening, Ze Wangxiu also invited two more friends over; he really was someone who loved making friends.
For dinner, no matter what was said, he wouldn’t let Li Younan pay.
But when they were about to head downstairs and go their separate ways after dining, they encountered a woman in her 30s, who clearly was close to Ze Wangxiu. Judging by her age, she wasn’t his wife, likely someone akin to a sister.
She argued with Ze Wangxiu rather seriously.
While Li Younan couldn’t understand what they were saying, he felt this woman seemed a bit dissatisfied with Ze Wangxiu.
He couldn’t help but ask one of Ze Wangxiu’s friends nearby, "Um... what’s going on?"
The friend smiled and said, "Don’t worry about it, it’s nothing to do with you. Doesn’t Ze Wangxiu have a coffee shop? He invested some money in it, and his family is against it, that’s his sister."
Li Younan blinked, starting to understand a bit.
It was quite understandable, after all, opening a coffee shop in a place like that, even though there were other items on offer, probably only the few tourists in the village’s homestays would drop by.
To be honest, Ze Wangxiu’s business was somewhat idealistic.
No wonder his family opposed it.
At that moment, Ze Wangxiu and his sister argued a bit more.
The sister pointed discontentedly at Ze Wangxiu’s two friends and said something.
Li Younan saw the expressions of the two friends turn slightly awkward.
Even though he didn’t understand Tibetan, he could roughly guess she might have said something like "all you do is hang out with some questionable people every day."
This little episode didn’t last long.
After Ze Wangxiu’s sister left, it was evident that his mood wasn’t as great as it was during the day.
Li Younan didn’t know how to comfort him, so he just thanked Ze Wangxiu for his hospitality and care over the past couple of days. Ze Wangxiu smiled, "No need to be so polite, I just love making friends, and it’s quite an honor for me to befriend you, honestly."
Li Younan smiled wryly, "You’re exaggerating."
Going back that night, Li Younan sent all the footage he captured today, including the video Zhao Ruoxuan recorded of him shooting the arrow that nailed the mouse to the stake, and the video of Ze Wangxiu’s little café, to jk Dragon.
Soon, jk Dragon replied somewhat surprised, "Have you practiced archery before?"
Li Younan proudly said, "First time shooting, do I have a natural talent?"
As usual, jk Dragon snorted, "Just luck, really lucky!"
Li Younan didn’t argue and said, "When you’re editing, could you emphasize the café part? Actually, the café is quite a nice spot to check out, plus that Tibetan experience hall near the mountain top grassland, once completed, should be pretty interesting."
jk Dragon asked curiously, "Are you promoting it? Did you get a sponsored gig?"
Li Younan replied, "No, it’s for free, more or less."
Then he briefly told jk Dragon a bit about Ze Wangxiu.
jk Dragon responded with an "Oh," without asking further, "let’s see the results tomorrow morning."
