Chapter 189 - 106: Setting Off for Jiuzhaigou!
They made a brief stop in the county town to rest a bit, and then decided not to spend the night there, driving straight to the entrance of the scenic area 40 kilometers away.
It’s said that just the village homestays and hotels around the scenic area can easily accommodate seventy to eighty thousand tourists.
As they drove closer, it was obvious that the area surrounding the scenic spot was inhabited by Tibetan people.
The accents and even appearances here were quite different from those in the county town.
Even if they didn’t speak Tibetan, the dialect spoken was Sichuanese, giving a feeling as if you crossed a whole province in just 40 kilometers.
Upon reaching near the scenic area, Li Younan drove straight to a pre-booked homestay to settle the two families.
This homestay was located a few kilometers away from the entrance of the scenic area.
Its downside was that it was a bit far, but the upside was that it was relatively cheap and more in touch with nature. At this time, Jiuzhaigou was in its peak season, and there were many tourists near the scenic area.
According to online ticket data, nearly 30,000 people were expected to enter the area the next day, so the tourists lingering around the vicinity might even reach around 60,000.
So, while going out for a stroll, you could distinctly feel the hustle and bustle of people.
Thinking about this, Li Younan and his mom felt a bit worried whether tomorrow there would be long queues; if it was as crowded as a sea of people, that would be quite frustrating.
However, Li Younan planned to spend three days in Jiuzhaigou. Besides the famous Jiuzhaigou scenic area, he also contacted a local fan to arrange a camping BBQ nearby after touring the scenic spot. If the experience in the scenic area was unsatisfactory, he would make up for it elsewhere.
Since he might need to discuss some video matters with JK Long on the phone at night, Li Younan decided to sleep separately from his mom to avoid disturbing her rest.
In the room, JK Long asked Li Younan, "Has the cruise company’s payment arrived yet?"
Li Younan checked, and indeed, there was an income of 50,000 yuan credited to the account.
He said excitedly, "It’s in, I’ll send your share to you right away."
JK Long lazily replied, "Whatever, I’m not asking you for money."
Li Younan was already used to JK Long’s attitude, and said nonchalantly, "I know. By the way, Brother Long, I wanted to talk to you about this last time. When are you free? We should meet up, we’ve been working together for so long, and I still don’t know what you look like."
Although he had made this request before and had been ruthlessly rejected by JK Long, Li Younan felt that they weren’t that familiar back then, but now they were.
Yet, JK Long still replied indifferently, "I don’t want to meet you. What’s there for two grown men to meet for?"
Li Younan was momentarily speechless, but also strangely felt that it made a kind of odd sense. What’s there for two grown men to meet for? Hmm, there’s a peculiar logic to it.
Li Younan said regretfully, "Alright then, if you ever change your mind, we can meet up and hang out somewhere."
JK Long shifted the topic, "Tomorrow, you could do a livestream; Jiuzhaigou has decent traffic. I heard the service quality is pretty good. There are online comments saying that other scenic spots are 5A because they meet the 5A level, but Jiuzhaigou is 5A because the scenic spot’s upper limit is 5A. Don’t know if that’s just hype, you should check it out tomorrow."
Li Younan noticed that JK Long seemed to like suggesting that he livestream. He sighed slightly, but thinking it over, he indeed hadn’t streamed in quite a while.
As a video creator, this is part of the job; doing a livestream once in a while does make sense, so he agreed.
In the evening, the area remained bustling.
His mom sent him a message asking him to buy some toiletries downstairs, as she wasn’t comfortable with the disposable toothbrush and toothpaste in the homestay.
For such a slightly picky request from his mom, of course, Li Younan fulfilled it unconditionally.
Compared to parents who claim to have had a hard life, his mom, who seemed picky, actually appeared more relatable and was more popular.
As Li Younan went downstairs, he unexpectedly saw Zhao Ruoxuan, who was downstairs as well, chatting non-stop on her phone.
She saw Li Younan and didn’t hide, simply greeted him.
Out of curiosity, Li Younan took a look over, and Zhao Ruoxuan turned her phone towards him, saying, "I’m livestreaming."
Li Younan blinked, "You stream too?"
He didn’t mean anything by it, after all, as he was planning to stream himself, the question was reasonable.
Yet, in Zhao Ruoxuan’s ears, it took on another meaning... something like, you stream too? Her expression changed slightly, and then she said defiantly, "Don’t underestimate me, I have a lot of fans."
Li Younan laughed immediately, didn’t explain, and nodded, "Have you made any money yet?"
Zhao Ruoxuan’s expression turned a bit odd, and her gaze hinted, "You are so clueless."
She said, "Livestreaming isn’t as you think, making money isn’t as easy as you imagine, you don’t understand streaming, do you?"
Li Younan blinked, momentarily not knowing how to respond.
He then changed the subject, "How many fans do you have?"
Zhao Ruoxuan tried hard to make her tone seem calm, casually saying, "Not many, just a few thousand fans."
Li Younan thought, well, that’s really not that many indeed.
Zhao Ruoxuan was somewhat expecting Li Younan to burst out with something like ’Wow, that’s amazing,’ but was disappointed to find he remained unmoved, further confirming in her mind that Li Younan totally did not understand what having a few thousand fans meant.
