Chapter 110
Chapter 110: I'll Pei Your Mother
***
Sophia and I rushed over in a panic.
"Are you okay?!"
"I'm fine." Sarah immediately stood up. She shook her head, patted the dust off her school uniform, and glared in the direction of the flame boy, hopping on her feet as she cursed: "Fuck you! Asshole! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
...Looks like she's really fine.
So I ran two steps over to Daisy's side. She seemed a bit dazed from the fall, having just propped herself up to kneel on the ground. She was about to raise her hand to rub her head when she suddenly noticed a dirty scrape on her elbow, which had already started to seep blood droplets. Daisy froze for a moment, then shifted her gaze to my face, her little mouth quivered, her eyes reddened, and she was about to cry.
At that moment, the flame boy's voice reached my ears: "Sorry, sorry~ Ladies, uh, I didn't mean it. Are you all okay?"
He seemed to apologize, but his careless, frivolous tone made it clear he wasn't taking this seriously, which made me a bit angry... but I didn't have time to deal with him right now.
I crouched down, grabbed Daisy's delicate arm, and used my fingers to wipe away the dirt around the wound, pursing my little mouth and blowing on it twice: "It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt. It's okay, Daisy, it's just a scrape."
Daisy nodded pitifully.
"Yeah... I'm fine... wuu—"
She let out a trembling cry before trying hard to hold it back. Her lips were pressed tightly together, but tears still streamed down her cheeks.
I became a bit flustered, quickly lifting my sleeve to wipe away her tears, saying "it doesn't hurt, don't cry" while untying the handkerchief from my wrist and carefully wrapping it around the scrape on her arm.
"Daisy, how are you?"
Seeing Daisy crying, Sophia and Sarah also gathered around.
"Ah! Her arm is injured..."
"I'm... fine... We need to hurry... wuu... hurry to the training grounds..."
Daisy's sobbing words immediately ignited the emotions of the two girls, and then all I could hear were their sharp scolding voices and the flame boy's joking excuses.
"What's wrong with you?! Is scaring us fun? Huh?!"
"Still laughing! Shameless! How dare you laugh?!"
"Come on~ I said it was an accident."
"An accident? Are you blind! We already moved out of your way, the road's so wide and you don't take it, you just had to come toward us, what's your problem?!"
"What problem could I have? Just that kind of problem~"
"A stupid problem!"
"Miss, cursing isn't right, you know~"
"Do you still think you're so cool?! Just because you can use Order Power a little better, who are you showing off to?! Self-important jerk!"
"Using such boring tricks, trying to get whose attention?!"
"Making a girl cry is absolutely the worst! Shame of men!"
"Scumbag!"
"...Are you fucking done yet?!"
"What, you want to fight?! I'll scream!"
After simply bandaging Daisy's scrape and tying the handkerchief into a pretty bow, I helped her slowly stand up.
"Can you walk?"
"Yeah..." Daisy nodded, a very forced smile appearing at the corners of her mouth.
She was already quite cute, but now with teary eyes while forcing herself to be strong, she looked particularly pitiful.
"Stop... arguing... I'm fine, let's hurry to the training grounds..."
Following Daisy's words, I turned my head to look toward the arguing group, just in time to see the lightning boy who had run ahead earlier now returning.
He put his arm around the flame boy who had been scolded nearly to the point of rage, then looked toward Sarah and Sophia who were equally furious, smiling as he tried to smooth things over: "Hey, what's going on here? Everyone calm down a bit."
He then punched the flame boy's shoulder: "Peter, what's your deal! Not only did you upset the ladies, but you made one cry? That won't do, you need to apologize properly—"
The teasing words that came out of his mouth seemed to get caught in his throat before he could finish, as if someone had grabbed him by the neck. The natural smile on the lightning boy's face froze the moment he made eye contact with me.
In that instant, I seemed to see his pupils slowly dilating. The slightly dumb look that showed through his somewhat vacant expression made his originally handsome face look utterly foolish at this moment. I didn't even need to think, I already knew what he was going to say.
"Holy shit..."
As expected, a vulgar and completely unoriginal exclamation.
Two seconds later, the lightning boy who had come to his senses became so excited his face flushed red. He tightened his grip around the flame boy's neck and leaned in to whisper in his ear.
"Look at that one, the black-haired one..."
"Praise the gods... I just noticed too, there's a beauty of this caliber among the new students..."
"Did we just hit the jackpot..."
"Let's work together, we've got to win her over..."
"You win her or I win her?"
"Let's see who's got the skills."
I frowned in disgust.
Did they think others couldn't hear them like that? Really... such boring little boy mentality. There was no point arguing with people like this, it was just a waste of time. I'd just have them apologize and get lost.
Having made up my mind, I helped Daisy slowly walk up to them, my cold gaze sweeping across both their faces.
"You two, properly, apologize to them."
"Hey hey, this has nothing to do with me, miss." The lightning boy pushed the boy named Peter and raised both hands with a smile, "It's all this guy... Hey, hurry up and apologize!"
The flame boy spread his hands: "But I already apologized."
"Say it again, don't leave a bad impression on the ladies."
"That would make me feel embarrassed."
At this moment, Daisy also gently pushed my shoulder: "Forget it, Peylo... Let's just go."
Hearing that Daisy wanted to leave, the flame boy immediately changed his tune: "If you want me to apologize... it's not impossible. But I think, you see, this lady just cried, and honestly that makes me feel quite bad. Just apologizing seems a bit impolite. How about this, you're all from the same dormitory, right? Tell me your dorm number, and tonight we'll bring some small gifts over and apologize properly to you ladies, how about that?"
The lightning boy clapped his hands upon hearing this: "That's great! I think that's fine."
"You wish!" Sophia immediately glared, "Now, bow your heads, and say you're sorry properly, hurry up! We still need to get to the training grounds!"
"Don't rush, miss. Everyone's the same. We're also first-year students who just enrolled, also in a hurry to get to the training grounds. Why else would we have been running so fast just now?" The lightning boy still had that grinning expression.
"Of course you're not in a hurry! You were running so fast!" Sophia stamped her feet in anger, "We still have an injured person here, you jerk!"
"Stop it, Sophia, let's go." Sarah walked over with a dark expression on her small face, supporting Daisy as if to carry her on her back again. "Peylo, ignore them. If we don't leave now, we'll really be late."
I tilted my head and thought about it, deciding Sarah was right.
Rather than arguing with two immature little boys, hurrying to the training grounds for assembly was more important.
Anyway, looking at them, they weren't going to apologize properly.
So I nodded: "Okay."
Letting go of Daisy's hand, I looked expressionlessly at those two annoying faces. They smiled again.
"What, leaving already? Miss Peylo~?"
"Peylo~ shall we see you off?"
"Peylo~"
The next moment, my petite body lightly leaped up, and under their slightly dazed gazes, I clenched my fists and struck down at their noses.
"I'll Pei your mother."
