Chapter 2: The Massacre

Ignoring the increasingly fervent shouts in the distance, I hurriedly lowered my head to check.
My arms and chest were surrounded by ominous black smoke, my upper body seemed to be covered by black armor made of unknown material, extending down to my thighs, only exposing areas above the forearms.
Below the legs were completely entwined by even more intense black smoke that gave off dazzling white light, like a black battle skirt, shrouding my legs, connecting to what looked like tar-like, yet boiling black liquid.
Looking out into the distance, under the azure sky, emerald hills with thousands of peaks and valleys connected to plains rich with green grass. Groups of two or three towering verdant trees bearing red fruits stood tall, and unknown silver flowers bloomed across the wilderness.
Such a perfect scenic view was completely ruined by a massive chasm spanning several kilometers, terrifying black liquid continuously overflowed from the chasm, flowers and grass withered instantly upon contact, turning into black powder.
And at this moment, I was actually standing in the center of this chasm, atop the bubbling black viscous liquid.

With a command from the lead knight in the middle, the third round of fireballs came trailing long tongues of flame towards me.

Streams of blue-white light smoke rose from where the knights died, were instantly absorbed into the thick smoke, after which the black smoke no longer lingered, quickly returning into my body.

The moment the black smoke returned, white mist rose from my body. I immediately felt something surge into my body, this feeling was somewhat similar to being in the black liquid, but much more intense.
