Chapter 152: Introductions
With all of them sitting atop Figg, the Druid turned Triceratops lowered his horns and charged forwards with even stronger fervour. Smashing through players like bowling pins, goring some on his horns and crushing others under foot.
Belladonna sat at the front, catching arrows and daggers then using her newly acquired ammo to fire back at those who were blocking them. As she did so, she cursed herself for not resupplying her stocks of Stonemuncher pellets to use as bullets, but thankfully the ammo was plentiful here.
At the back, sat Lilith, using her shield to quite literally cover their rear, and occasionally using her axe to take care of any attempted hitch hikers. A completely crimson and blushing Vestra was sandwiched between these two powerful women, her head swimming with all kinds of thoughts.
As for their healer, the little fluffy fox used their shoulders as his own personal platform, without a care for any attacks that came his way. If any did, he would just duck behind his meat shields, and if any managed to reach him when he couldn’t dodge, they would just bounce harmlessly off of his skin as if he was surrounded by a forcefield of fluff.
This little mounted battle charge, really hammered home Belladonna’s weakness for range in her mind, and forced her to start considering what new glyphs she could use. Not that only having one type of Glyph on her body made her a bad Glyphborne.
No, of course not. It just meant that she was careful and considerate about it all. That was definitely it.
However, with her new education in magic, especially from the real world (which was a concept she was still amazed that was actually true) she should be able to do even more with her Glyphs.
Although she couldn’t do it now. All the bumping in their movement would ruin the carving, or cause her to stab herself in the hand.
Once they had finally made it out of the crowds, that didn’t exactly mean they were alone. There were still players surrounding them, all of them hurrying in the same general direction as the group.
But there was far less players in comparison, and an unspoken rule that fell over the thinned crowds. The people at this point where only here because of strength or ingenuity. They were the type of people you shouldn’t want to mess with, for one reason or another.
Fighting each other now would not only be an absolute waste of time, but would be actively detrimental to them. That didn’t stop them from all eyeing each other suspiciously, just waiting for someone to be stupid enough to break the unspoken agreement.
But for now... they were safe.
Safe enough for Figg to dismiss his Triceratops form, as the woven wood making up the creature rapidly untwisted itself and was sucked back into his body, revealing the familiar druid with wooden antlers sprouting from his forehead.
Seeing Figg transform, the little fox let out a soft sigh and then started to grow. Its face shrunk and its fur grew, weaving itself together into an adorable pure white robe.
Saige straightened up as his staff manifested into his hand with a flash of white light and gave the rest of the party a soft smile.
Vestra immediately let out a high pitched ’squee’ at the sight of Saige, her body overloading with ’cuteness aggression’ as she had to stop herself from lunging at the boy. He was just so damned cute, she could barely control herself, having to get all of her energy out by clenching her fists tight and against her chest.
While most of the party gave Vestra a very strange look for her behaviour. At the side, Lilith glanced down at the over reacting girl and gave her a knowing smile, as well as a nod of absolute understanding. This was truly the way when it came to cuteness, and it must be protected at all costs.
Rubbing her temples as if she was trying to rid herself of a headache, Belladonna let out a soft sigh before gesturing to Vestra and Figg.
"Guys, this is Vestra and Figg. They were the first friends I made in this game. We raided a dungeon together and we worked pretty well, so I know they won’t hold us back."
She then turned to Vestra and Figg and gestured to the other two, "Vez, Figg. Meet Lilith and Saige. Otherwise known as my older brother and his fiance."
"Brother?!" They both shouted in unison, glancing between the two people before them. Their eyes were filled not just with disbelief but confusion, as they wren’t actually sure who was supposed to be who.
After all... weren’t both of the people in front of them women?
As if on cue, Saige fluffed up his tail and brought it in front of his face, holding it close as he hid behind it, with just a pair of adorable doe eyes poking out the top. His fluffy ears fell flat against his head as he somehow forced a blush and spoke in an intentionally high pitched, feminine voice.
"Bell... Do you really have to expose me like that? It’s not very nice to tell people who you really are and- Owie!"
Even when Belladonna slapped him on the back of the head, Saige kept up the innocent and adorable act, which just made Belladonna give him another few slaps and even pull on his ear to get him to walk beside her whilst she gave him a stern talking to.
As they walked past, Vestra leaned forwards slightly, letting the fluffy tail brush over her face before watching Saige’s back with wide, sparkling eyes. Her cuteness overload somehow becoming even more powerful upon realising that it was a boy in front of her, and not an adorable girl.
That was like double points!
Lilith placed a hand on Vestra’s shoulder, pulling her close as she gave her a reassuring pat.
"I can tell that we are going to get on wonderfully, don’t you think?" She said with a strange smile, as the two women started to walk alongside each other.
Poor Figg was left at the back of the pack, a strange and awkward look on his face as he looked at the strange pairings. The overbearing sister with the adorable, feminine brother and the two cuteness lovers whispering suspiciously between each other.
Was he really the only normal one in this group? He sighed in exhaustion, rubbing the back of his head before speeding up his pace, not wanting to be left behind even if they were a bunch of weirdo’s.
