Villain of Fate: The Tyrant System

Chapter 113: A Quiet Moment Behind the Mask

A Quiet Moment Behind the Mask

Then he turned his head and looked straight at her chest.

"But aren’t you tired from walking around all day with those big boobs?"

The room went silent.

Lina Ashford froze.

Her hands stopped for half a second.

"Even if you are tired," Julian continued thoughtfully,

"just tell me."

"It’s a small matter."

Lina slowly resumed the massage.

Her smile remained perfectly calm.

"Thank you, Young Master Julian."

But under the table—

Her fists were already clenched so tightly that her knuckles had turned white.

For a moment, she considered smashing his head directly into the mattress.

But then she took a slow breath.

Her shoulders relaxed slightly.

Forget it... forget it.

No point getting angry and making myself sick.

Gathering information is more important.

That thought cooled the irritation inside her chest.

Lina exhaled quietly and adjusted her posture. Her cool, jade-like fingers rested gently on Julian’s head as she began massaging again with careful, professional movements.

"Oh... that’s nice," Julian murmured.

He closed his eyes and stretched comfortably across the bed.

"Your technique is quite good."

His voice carried genuine satisfaction.

Inside his mind—

(This is what I call a divine life.)

(Her technique is so professional.)

(Sigh... such a beautiful girl. Why does she have to be an assassin?)

(If she stayed here as my maid, working two hours a day and relaxing the rest of the time, that would be the life she deserves.)

(The assassin’s world is so dangerous.)

(Fighting and hiding every day... how exhausting for a girl.)

Lina’s fingers paused for the faintest moment.

She hadn’t expected those thoughts.

Her purple eyes lowered slightly.

For someone who knew she was his enemy...

He sounded strangely sincere.

Deep down, those words touched something she usually buried.

She continued massaging quietly.

But her thoughts drifted.

Why couldn’t she live like other girls?

A normal life.

Going to school.

College.

Working in an office.

Complaining about her boss.

Playing games late at night.

Shopping with friends.

Arguing in small boutiques about dress prices.

Eating free desserts at a sweets shop.

Being treated like a princess just once.

Then maybe...

Finding a boy she liked.

Dating.

Living peacefully.

In her world, there had never been such things.

There were only missions.

Targets.

Blood.

Survival.

Every day was another knife-edge between life and death.

It was exhausting.

For a brief moment, Lina wondered what it would feel like to truly live like an ordinary girl.

Her gaze lowered toward Julian.

He was lying comfortably, eyes half closed, looking completely relaxed.

"Young Master Julian," Lina suddenly asked softly.

"Do you have any siblings?"

Julian opened one eye.

"No," he replied casually.

"I’m an only child."

He stretched slightly.

"I do have a few cousins though."

Inside his mind—

(Speaking of cousins... I think of that snitch Ammy D’Aurelius.)

(That idiot is now a vice president at The Flavor Factory, but he hasn’t made any moves yet.)

(Evan is also hiding somewhere.)

(Without his orders, Ammy shouldn’t dare try anything for now.)

(If he does... it’s fine.)

(He’s under 24-hour surveillance anyway.)

Lina blinked slowly.

She had to admit—

This man was very careful.

Even key pieces on the board were tightly controlled by him.

No wonder the Obsidian King had suffered at his hands.

I’ll report this to the Obsidian King later, she thought quietly.

Her curiosity toward Julian grew stronger.

This man knew far more than he should.

Fortunately...

She could hear his thoughts.

Her hands moved from his temples to his shoulders, pressing gently.

"Young Master Julian," she asked softly.

"Is this pressure okay?"

Julian gave her a relaxed thumbs-up.

"Perfect."

His voice was almost lazy with comfort.

Honestly...

After all the chaos recently, this was the first moment he truly felt relaxed.

Being served like this was finally starting to feel like the life of a rich villain.

"So," Lina continued gently,

"does this mean I’ve passed the test and can stay as a maid?"

Julian didn’t answer immediately.

He opened both eyes and looked at her thoughtfully.

Lina met his gaze calmly.

But inside—

She was observing every small reaction.

Julian finally shrugged.

"As long as you can adapt to the job, it’s fine."

"If you can’t... just tell me."

"You can leave anytime."

He waved his hand casually.

"And your salary won’t be short."

Then—

Almost naturally—

His hand reached out and lightly patted her thigh.

Lina’s body stiffened slightly.

Inside his mind—

(Heh... you insisted on staying.)

(Don’t blame me for being shameless.)

(If you can’t stand it, just leave.)

(Don’t force yourself.)

But then his thoughts softened slightly.

(Honestly... if your family hadn’t been destroyed by Evan’s master...)

(Your status wouldn’t be much lower than mine.)

(Losing your parents and brother so young...)

(Then being taken by your enemy and raised as an assassin...)

(You’re also a pitiful person.)

(Sigh.)

Julian didn’t realize it—

But that last thought carried genuine emotion.

Lina heard every word.

Her hands paused again.

Her chest tightened slightly.

She lowered her eyes, hiding the complicated expression that flickered across her face.

In the original story of her life—

Her parents had indeed been targets of Evan’s master.

Her family destroyed.

Her childhood erased.

She had been taken away and trained as a weapon.

A blade that existed only to obey.

Very few people knew that truth.

Yet Julian...

Spoke about it so casually.

For the first time since entering this room—

Lina Ashford looked at him not just as a target.

But as a mystery.
