Chapter 3943 - Not Worth It
Tianming already knew who they were. All of them were also from the Primordial Sands. Their leader was Jiang Yuheng, Jiang Yulian's younger brother. He had a team of five with him and they’d been patrolling the surroundings since finding the fruit and sending a message to the other group. Jiang Yuheng had already begun harvesting it by the time Tianming arrived.
A formation? He saw a large bundle of black vines through which divine celestial patterns of black and gold flowed. There were a few layers of formations keeping the golden ninelives fruit within.
"Hmmm, what does it mean for the fruit to be protected by so many formations like that?" Ying Huo smirked.
"It means someone tried to protect it to let it ripen. It's clearly reached maturity, but its protector is nowhere to be seen," Tianming said, seeming rather puzzled.
"Who could the protector be?" Bai Ye asked.
"Maybe natives of the Ancestral World. Maybe they're the ones that the Eightpart Pantheons believe to be remnants of the flameyellow divinities! They seem to have hidden themselves away after the Ancient Flameyellow Ruins opened up." Tianming really wanted to meet those people, though he hadn't gotten any information about them so far. Everything, from the little beastballs to the ark and the Ninelives Ancestral Tree was shrouded in mystery.
"Yin Chen, try tracking down any signs of life in the Ancestral World. Someone must be around," Tianming said as he charged toward the fruit.
Jiang Yuheng and the others were also attacking the formation of vines. As that was bound to be rather noisy, they tried to keep their commotion down as they chipped away at the formation and waited for reinforcements. But before they arrived, Tianming was already there!
"Sis?" Jiang Yuheng excitedly turned back, only to see a figure surrounded in purple mist. "Who are you?!"
Jiang Yuheng was a third-level cosmic god, and even one growl caused the entire cavern to shake. He was a handsome youth that stood three hundred meters tall, covered in brilliant light. When he discovered the suicidal little fly, he didn't seem nervous at all and even wanted to laugh. "A quasi cosmic god? I guess people really do throw their lives away for greed! The dogs of the Eightpart Pantheons are truly laughable."
