Birthing Legends: My Womb Creates SSS Monsters

Chapter 298: The First Step Toward Prometha's Fall — Part 4.

As when Maddy engaged with the reborn party under the guise of an ordinary unknown adventurer, using the close proximity to quietly test and observe her creations. She ran complex calculations in her head, analyzing exactly how far the Doppelganger traits could push the copy of these high ranking adventurers.

One by one, she evaluated them. It wasn't just their flawless team coordination that impressed her, but how meticulously every single one of them acted out the precise personality, quirks, and fighting stances of their fake forms.

She muttered to herself that it was entirely understandable to be cautious. She vividly remembered that very first day her hive had encountered a wild Doppelganger. Back then, the creature had attempted to copy Dyralfa. While the mimicry had been visually flawless, it hadn't been able to replicate her entire, devastating Alpha strength—managing only a small fraction of her true power.

Yet, to her immense surprise, these new chimera children were outperforming the wild baseline specimens.

"Incredible… Because they were born from the Mobile Womb using the high quality traits I harvested from Shellgrave alongside the adventurers' actual remains, they were actually… pulling off the targets' movements, habits, and high tier combat styles with absolute perfection. They weren't just hollow clones; they were functional masterpieces."

Maddy's eyes trailed after Erwin as the crowd cheered his name, her smile remaining perfectly sweet and innocent to any onlooker. Inside, her dark triumph reached its absolute peak.

"They are absolutely perfect," she thought, the final pieces of her grand strategy locking into place. "The traits hold, the assimilation is seamless, and their presence is entirely masked. My plan worked out flawlessly... Prometheus' Nation has just welcomed its own executioners."

Back in the present, the long, detailed reports had finally come to an end. The newborn doppelganger party had thoroughly filled their Mother in on everything that had transpired within the hive during her absence, proving their flawless coordination.

Erwin stepped forward, his human disguise immaculate. He quietly drew a small, glowing piece of stone from his pocket, holding it up slightly so only Maddy could see it.

"Because of this Teleportation stone, Mother," Erwin muttered, his voice a perfect replica of the dead adventurer's confident tone, "we were able to manage our return just in time. The Prometheans were already starting to panic over our absence. If we had delayed any longer, the Adventurers' Guild would have sent massive reinforcements or worse, a higher tier party to thoroughly investigate the Shellgrave caverns."

Maddy looked at the stone, a sharp, approving glint in her eyes.

"And more importantly," she whispered back, her smile sweet but her words dripping with calculation, "you managed to make the entire kingdom believe there was a real, rising Demon Lord up there."

"Yes," Erwin replied smoothly. "We used the discarded remains of the Demonic Ogre to frame it as the true source of the mana distortion. We presented ourselves as the heroes who successfully defeated the 'Demon Lord' and extinguished the rumors. The Guild has completely closed the case."

Now, their subterranean home was entirely safe. The intense heat and suspicion surrounding the Shellgrave region would finally cool down, leaving the hive to grow in absolute peace while the humans celebrated a false victory.

As the party moved along to keep up their public facade, Maddy watched them go, a sudden, chilly realization hitting her. She chuckled quietly to herself, shaking her head in sheer amazement.

"This was all Frovian's idea," she thought, a shiver of profound respect running down her spine. "He is actually... terrifying. To think he could come up with a strategy this cold—using the dead remains of his past, to frame a fake threat and completely clean their own tracks. My strategist really is a beautiful monster… Oh my… my Frovian."

Maddy shook the lingering thoughts of Frovian's terrifying genius from her head, stepping closer to her reborn children as the celebratory noise of the tavern swelled around them.

"Well, that's done," she said softly, a gentle warmth returning to her eyes as she looked over the group. "Our reunion is complete. And lastly... thank you. You all pulled this off beautifully. Using this 'hero return' angle was perfect—it made every single Promethean flock to you to celebrate. And now, look at them."

She gestured faintly toward the main room of the tavern, where the local citizens and low-ranking adventurers were completely drunk, cheering and shouting in high spirits. Because of the raucous distraction, her children had been able to slip away, speak freely, and coordinate many things with her without a single suspicious eye on them.

Then, Maddy's gaze sharpened. The warm, maternal softness vanished in an instant, her tone shifting into something cold, commanding, and absolute.

"But tomorrow... the real mission begins," she whispered, her voice cutting through the distant tavern noise like ice. "So, the first thing you need to do tonight is go home. Use whatever memories, secrets, and habits you gained from those dead adventurers. You are not just faking their faces anymore. You must flawlessly fake their relationships with everyone in their lives—their friends, their acquaintances, and every single one of their... family... members. Act as if the original people are still alive, blend into their households, and fool them completely."

The doppelganger party didn't hesitate. The absolute directive of their Mother locked into their minds, replacing their docile expressions with a chilling, unified focus.

"Understood, Mother," Erwin murmured.

With synchronized precision, the party rose from their seats and began heading out into the night toward the separate homes of the dead men they had replaced. Before disappearing into the city streets, each of the new children paused, casting one final, subtle look back toward the shadow of the booth. They gave a respectful, lingering nod to their progenitor—a silent promise of the total infiltration to come.

But before they could vanish from her sight, Maddy leaned slightly forward from the darkness her voice dropping to a low, chilling whisper that carried perfectly to their ears. She spoke each of their newly christened names one by one, sealing their identity under her command:

"Marrowin... Lilitha... Evangela... Aedes... and Zobin."

The five reborn chimera froze in place, turning their heads just enough to catch her gaze.

"Most importantly do not ever reveal your true form, unless..."

She trailed off, leaving the air hanging with the weight of the ultimate rule. In perfect unison, their voices echoed back to her in a barely audible, synchronized murmur:

"Unless we are in complete danger."
