Remarriage Failed Again Today

Chapter 618: Can’t You See, I Want to Divorce You

In this world, she only trusted the dead.

Anything that could threaten him met with only one fate: death!

...

「Two days later, at dusk.」

Tina Chapman sat apprehensively on the sofa, waiting for Arthur Ainsworth to come home.

Tomorrow was the deadline. Give up the Ainsworth Group, lose a hand, or get a divorce—the decision would be made tonight.

She had to admit, no matter the outcome, she was the one who would suffer...

Just as this thought crossed her mind, Arthur Ainsworth returned.

Tina Chapman looked at him and cautiously approached. "You’re home."

Arthur Ainsworth didn’t even spare her a glance, heading straight for the stairs.

Tina Chapman felt awkward, but she still followed him and asked softly, "Have you eaten? Was it a long day?"

In response, Arthur Ainsworth simply turned to face her. He said nothing, but the look in his eyes alone was chilling.

"Wh-wh... what’s wrong?" Tina Chapman stammered.

Arthur Ainsworth let out a cold laugh and continued up the stairs.

She had never seen him like this. A pit of unease formed in Tina Chapman’s stomach.

She sat on the sofa, her mind racing with the possible consequences. A moment later, Arthur Ainsworth came back downstairs, carrying a large suitcase.

He walked right up to her and threw the suitcase at her feet.

The impact forced the suitcase open, revealing its contents: all of her clothes and personal items.

Tina Chapman’s heart sank. Though she suspected what was happening, she still asked in disbelief, "What are you doing?"

"What am I doing?"

Arthur Ainsworth sneered. "I’m kicking you out of this house! Can’t you tell? I want a divorce!"

Tina Chapman felt as if she’d been struck by lightning. She stared at him in utter shock, speechless.

After a long moment, she demanded hysterically, "You want to divorce me? For your company? You’re actually choosing your company over me!

After everything I’ve done for you, you’re just going to cast me aside? Well, I’m telling you, I will not get a divorce! I won’t!"

"Hah!"

Arthur Ainsworth slapped her across the face, then flung a stack of lurid photographs at her. "The evidence is undeniable!" he roared. "Are you still going to play dumb? How much longer were you planning on fooling me? I never would have guessed you were such a whore! Who knows how many times you got knocked up before you married me! And you’re still trying to pretend now!"

Tina Chapman’s eyes fell on the photos, and she was instantly too terrified to speak.

They were photos from her youth, from when she’d worked as a prostitute. Her family had been struggling with money, and her brother had desperately needed capital for a business. So, she had sold her body. It had only been for a month...

She would never forget that month for as long as she lived. To have it all dredged up again now was utterly terrifying.

Tina Chapman burst into tears, clinging to him. "Darling, darling, please believe me! I was young and foolish! My family had no money! I was forced into it! I had to... I had to..."

"It was only for one month! Darling, I love you! I love you so much, please don’t divorce me, okay? I... I..."

As Tina Chapman spoke, she spotted Vivian Yates standing at the top of the stairs. She grabbed her and said, "Look! At the end of the day, I still gave you a daughter, didn’t I?"

"I’ve worked so hard for this family! You can’t treat me like this! For our daughter’s sake, please, give me one more chance. I swear I cut all ties with those people after I married you. Don’t divorce me, please?"

Vivian Yates let herself be pulled forward. Feigning sincerity, she went along with Tina Chapman. "That’s right, Dad. I don’t know if Mom ever did something like that, but even if she did, it’s because she was young and foolish. We can give her another chance."
