Chapter 203: You’d Better Take It Well, Hmm?
Xylas Shepherd, Leona Grant, and Nathaniel Locke stared at Annabelle Linton, completely dumbfounded.
It was the first time. The first time they had ever seen a woman fight.
’So cool. Absolutely badass!’
She hadn’t even had time to cry out in pain.
A cold smile still graced Annabelle Linton’s lips. Her heels were high and needle-thin.
The rhythmic sound of high heels echoed in the room—sharp, firm, and steady, yet as unsettling as a knife held to one’s throat!
Annabelle Linton slowly walked over to Vivian Yates and looked down on her with disdain. Her wavy, flaxen hair cascaded over her shoulders as she stared at her coldly.
A sharp pain shot through the top of her foot, and all the color drained from Vivian Yates’s face. "It hurts!"
"Hurt? No, I haven’t even started yet."
She bent down, grabbed a handful of her hair, and brutally dragged Vivian Yates up from the floor.
There wasn’t a trace of warmth in Annabelle Linton’s eyes as she swept her gaze coolly over her. "I’ve always found women fighting to be utterly unsightly. Laying a hand on you would dirty my own, and frankly, I couldn’t be bothered to do it. But..."
Annabelle Linton flashed a perfect, demonic smile. It was a beautiful smile, dazzling to the eye and seemingly harmless. "But, since Miss Yates is so enthusiastic, and it’s hard to refuse such a warm invitation, it wouldn’t be right of me not to reciprocate. I’ll give you the honor of being the first woman I’ve ever hit. Now, you’d better take what’s coming to you, hmm?"
"No, no..." Vivian’s face went white with terror as she tried to back away.
She had thought that after what she’d said, Annabelle Linton would be too concerned about everyone watching to actually lay a hand on her.
Or that Leona Grant would step in and plead for her.
But it seemed she was wrong...
Completely wrong!
Leona Grant was only watching Annabelle Linton with a profound gaze, not even sparing Vivian a glance from the corner of her eye.
Just as she was thinking this, a sharp pain suddenly shot through her knee!
Annabelle Linton had viciously kicked her in the kneecap with her needle-thin high heel!
"AHH, Annabelle Linton, stop! Stop it!" Vivian screamed in terror.
"Stop?" Annabelle yanked her by the scalp and viciously slapped her twice. "How could I? Today, I’m going to make you experience just what I’m capable of."
Xylas Shepherd couldn’t watch anymore. He stepped in front of Annabelle Linton. "Sister-in-law, we’re all friends here. No matter what, Vivian grew up with us. A lesson or two is enough. How about we just let this go..."
Before Xylas could finish, he was met with an icy glare.
He turned his head and saw Annabelle Linton staring at him, her face completely expressionless. All at once, he lost the courage to finish his sentence.
’Holy shit,’ he thought. ’She’s not even making a face, but she’s radiating this "get the hell out of my way or I’ll beat the crap out of you too" vibe.’
’Xylas, you idiot. Did you forget the time you saw her rescue someone from under a truck? Or how completely unfazed she was when someone pulled a gun on her?’
’Unreal.’
"Look at this mouth on me, just look at it." Xylas gave a dry laugh, lightly slapped his own face, and silently backed away. "They’re just having a heart-to-heart here. What am I, a random bystander, doing getting involved? Hahahaha, Sister-in-law, please continue. Continue. Haha..."
Annabelle indifferently withdrew her gaze and let it fall back on Vivian Yates.
A fresh wave of terror made Vivian Yates’s scalp tingle. "Annabelle Linton, don’t come any closer..."
Annabelle smiled as she closed in.
And then—
"CRASH! BANG! SMASH!..."
The large hospital room was utterly destroyed, reduced to a total mess. Debris was scattered everywhere, leaving almost no place to stand.
As a computer crashed to the floor, the room itself seemed to shake.
The three men could only watch with their mouths hanging open as Annabelle Linton delivered the beating.
