[VRMMO] Dead One

"An alliance?" – asked a low voice from the communication mirror.

"Yes." – said the pope king.

"The Garog empire is a threat to this entire continent."

"The demons, the undeads, and all those who worship the demon lord ClownFrog, they need to be eliminated in order to keep the continent safe.

"And you are saying you are forming an alliance?" – asked the deep voice.

"You said that both the kingdoms of Maq and the kingdom of Kor."

"This is correct. They have declared their full participation in the war as our allies." – replied pope king.

"…"

"…"

"Anybody else?" – asked a deep voice.

"…"

"Unfortunately, no." – replied pope king.

(The elves says that they want to remain neutral.)

(While the beastmen straight up threaten to kill the messenger…. Not only that, but according to our spies, the demon lord personally had decided to fly to their kingdom…. There is a good chance that they would form an alliance.)

"…"

"Okay. I will join your alliance." – said the deep voice.

"But in exchange, I want one thing."

"I want to destroy these annoying ass elves, got it?"

"…"

"Deal." – said pope king without hesitation.

"Good…. Good." – said the deep voice.

"Then let's work together… 'friend'." – said the man before then cutting off the connection.

"…"

"So does that mean that the dwarves had joined our alliance?" – asked the paladin with bandana.

"Pretty much." – said the pope king.

"…"

"But… They also said about- "

"Extermination of elves. Yeb. They want it….. Well, we were planning on getting rid of the elves sooner or later, since they are big annoyance anyway." – said the pope king before the paladin could finish speaking.

"…"

"I understand…. But the dwarves can't be trusted." – said the paladin.

"I know." – said pope king.

"And they don't trust us…. Pretty much we would be only working together on the "surface", while in reality we would be aiming to kill each other."

"However, right now there is one thing in common that would also prevent us from betraying each other."

"The destruction of the Garog empire."

"And after that? We will just destroy the dwarves, elves and beastmen…. All will be dealt with."

"Just as the heavens prophesied."

"This land shall be cleansed from sins and be the gateway to heavens."

"This isn't just some "talk" my friend."

"This is our destiny that the heavens have chosen for us."

"Yes…. There will be no defining the destiny."

[Meanwhile: Garog empire – Capital city – Meeting hall.]

"Okay…. So let me get this straight." – said ClownFrog.

"The elves are saying that they won't join an alliance with us, but that they won't also join an alliance with the holy kingdom."

"HOWEVER!"

"They are willing to consider an alliance, IF we provide them not with just ONE great danger zone, but straight up TWO?!"

"Yeb…. But honestly speaking, I don't think they would work with us even if we did handed over both of these territories."

"She showed us a middle finger right in our faces and say "deal with it"."

"Amelia." – said Oron.

"You originally had a deal with elves where you would give them a great danger zone in exchange…. But were the ones that proposed the deal?"

"Yes. They were one that suggested the great danger zone as compensation."

"The deal was where I would get soldiers and political support after the war had ended, a heavy kind of support during and after the war…. Which made the deal about the great danger zone worth it…. But since I was defeated way easier than anybody had expected and had no chance at winning, I've agreed with elves for them to withdraw their forces and me finally joining you was the finishing touch to completely null the deal."

"This obviously could had made elves pissed off at me…. And maybe you, since you were the ones who accepted me."

"But that doesn't make sense!"

"Everybody knew I was serious about the war!"

"So why would anybody think that the whole thing was…. Well…. A setup? Like from the start I was planning on giving up?"

"The elven queen isn't dumb either, she would realize it."

"That only confirms her hostility towards us." – said ClownFrog.

"Shit…. The elves may be planning something in secret…. It may be war."

"But would they really go to war like that? I mean, it would be a three way fight and they would be at a disadvantage."

"…"

"Tch."

"I don't like this."

The current station is like this.

The Holy kingdom wants to declare war on us.

And as we expected, we were backstabbed by both of the small kingdoms. They've decided to join the "holy alliance" in order to destroy us.

And the dwarves?

According to our spies, the dwarves and the holy kingdom had some conversation in secret that lasted for quite a long time….. But in the end it has happened.

The dwarves have joined hands with the holy kingdom and joined their "holy alliance".

4 kingdoms are our enemies in total by the looks of things.

Us.

We had formed an alliance with the beastman nation.

And now the elves…. They decided to remain "neutral" …. But there is a good chance that they are planning something.

Should we send spies to the elven kingdom?

Nope. Amelia said that this plan is a bad idea since elves have very heavy security in their forest.

Probably the only ones that could go in and out unnoticed are GreyHunt, Oron and Tail.

But right now, they are focused on the four kingdoms.

Still…. Why did they wanted one of the great danger zones? Profit seems like the most likely possibility

Us in the middle.

West – Holy kingdom.

North West – Two small kingdoms.

South West – Beastman kingdom.

South – Elven kingdom.

East – Dwarves.

The biggest problems are the holy nations and the dwarven nations.

They are on complete opposite sides.

The two small kingdoms are not a threat at all, but they do give more attack options for the holy church.

But when it comes down to military power, the dwarves are the most dangerous bunch.

The spies we had send had revealed that they have… A lot of different things.

Golems.

A straight up tanks.

And heavy armory…..

….

But we also discovered something else.

They weren't kidding when they said that the dwarven kingdom had no nature at all.

Oron gave me screenshots of that place and holy shit, it's desolated.

Barren wasteland.

Not only that, but there are food shortages here and there to the point where a bandit activity is at all time high.

There are not many villages, but instead massive main settlements like towns and cities.

I think the dwarves have another reason to take over the empire, they are killing themselves….. They need new lands where they can farm and hunt animals for food.

Apparently, the whole civil war that had happened in their kingdom was apparently also because of the current higher-ups of the kingdom were only carrying about the "power" and not "survival".

That gives them even more motivation to join the holy kingdom alliance.

My title, [First Emperor] has a time limit.

Once that limit is up, the other nations will have the rights to attack us directly.

A lot of time had already passed since I've acquired this title…. We need to start already preparing for the war.

These bastards will declare war on us as soon as possible…. And that is big problem for us since we are still unstable. Our nation was not "alive" for that long.

Doing an war right now would also put some big mental strains on our civilians…. And this is something we also want to avoid since we want to have "safety".

But by the looks of things the war is unavoidable as long as both the holy kingdom and dwarven kingdom draws breath.

I went and had a meeting with the witch about this, who was staying at our main city at the time.

"Huh…. So, they are planning on attacking you?" – asked the lizard woman witch as she was suddenly visited by ClownFrog.

"Yeb… They are already planning on this…. This war will also be far bigger. It will probably affect the entire continent."

"…"

"Hm…. Welp, this is bad…." – said the witch.

"If I'm being honest, the presence of the empire is required on this continent if you have THAT kind of neighbors. It is keeping everybody in line."

"…"

"And before you ask, no."

"Witches won't join the war."

"We already discussed this before."

"We are neutral."

"I wasn't going on, I just came by to give a warning about the current situation." – said ClownFrog as he got up.

"Well then, sorry for bothering you."

"…"

"Wait." – said the witch.

"?"

"Even though I had just said that we witches are neutral, we are still looking around for the clues regarding "Benefactor" and the traitorous witch."

"Considering how both of them were involved in the last war, there is a chance that they are also involved in this upcoming war."

"We will launch our own investigation and if it really turns out that the "benefactor" is really involved in this war once again, the Sabath will offer you assistance as allies."

"I see…. Thank you." – said ClownFrog before then leaving the hotel.

(It has completely slipped our mind…. That the benefactor could had been involved again.) – thought ClownFrog as he spread his wings and started flying towards the castle.

(Church and dwarves both had motivations, so we didn't suspected them….. But so did the third prince. He had motivation and he was exploited for it.)

(What if the "benefactor" decides to support one of them….. Or what about the elves?)

(They've also acted weird…. So would it be really surprising if maybe THEY are working with the "benefactor"?)

"This is stupid."

(If the "Benefactor" is really in the mix, then the whole thing could end up way more chaotic.)

(There are also players,they will also have to choose sides.)

(Our guild had obtained a lot of players and we have some players that decided to set up their bases here.)

(….But how many would stay in our guild and how many of those players that are in the empire would side with us?)

(We can give quest and rewards, so we should motivate some random players to our side.)

"Yeb… This will be annoying as hell."

And so, the preparations for the war had started.

And as we suspected, the four nation alliance had been made in secret, but thanks to our intelligent gathering, we were able to discover their little plot.

And…. They are also preparing for the war at full swing…. Nice.

As for the elves?

They are still unknown.

There was no movements or anything from their side at all… Which makes things worrying for us.

Our ally, the beastman nation had also started their preparation for the war while the witches started their own investigation.

It is still unsure if the witches will become our allies in the war… But if the "benefactor" is really involved, then we could count on them.

The time went by and we honestly tried to stop the war or at least delay it with schemes or some other things…. But it wasn't working at all.

If anything, everybody knew that everybody was preparing for the war. This was the fact… Yeb….. Shit.

We tried doing some political act with other nations or see if we could maybe somehow delay the war for a bit…. But nothing was working.

Especially against both the dwarven and holy kingdoms, they were dead set on the war and they would stop at nothing.

They even send some saboteurs our way…. Well, so did we.

I guess there is no way we can avoid it anymore, huh?

As the time went by…. The atmosphere in the empire changed.

Some people grew nervous.

While some others grew with….. "Excitement".

The people with excitement were mostly members of the monster species that were "robed" by the dwarven or holy nations…. There are also some people from other nations that came to live in ours as they saw their own place of birth as…. "Hostile" …. Probably because of the fact that they let them get captured and almost turned into monsters.

However, we cannot ignore the nervous or worried people, since a year ago a massive war was already taking place across the entire empire.

And now…. We are dealing with a war way more massive than ever before.

A war that would affect the entire continent.

Having a nation where we have a high military army is good and all, but without civilians, farmers and all sorts of people that are not about combat and stuff, this empire would fall.

Things happened…. Things didn't happened.

Things were planned…. Things were stopped.

Everybody was scheming…. Everybody was spying on each other.

Things were chaotic everywhere in each nation. Each and every day.

And then it has finally happened.

One in year game had finally passed after acquiring the title [First Emperor].

And that means that the system protection had been revoked…..

Well…. Even though the system protection is now gone for good, there is still no excuse to start the war.

True. There is no need to have a reason to declare a war. Like for example "You have attacked our kingdom too many times and we want justice!".

Or just this.

"We declare war on you."

Simple, right?

However, we have our status as "heroes" that saved the continent from many different threats, meaning that without a solid declaration of war, like the reason, the kingdom that declares war on us could have received bad reputation or be questioned by their own people.

That is…. What we had thought.

As soon as it was gone, the holy nation had sent a declaration of war.

Reason for war?

"You defiled the heavens and dare to bear their fangs against them!"

"You shall be punished for your evil and lies!"

Huh…. They just lied.

They lied publicly loud and clear…. What in the actual fuck?

Their declaration of war is so full of shit and lies that anybody can tell…. I mean, we suspected that they would make some bullshit reason or try to provoke us in some way, but they really just declared war on us while lying publicly like that? Do they have any idea what kind of impact that declaration of war could have?

…. They just don't care…. Wow…. They are greedy beyond believe.

Well… Considering how they are acting…. There is no longer any way for us to talk peacefully.

We were expecting the war…. But not as soon as this god damned title stopped working! For crying out loud, what is wrong with this continent?

The war has officially started.

The only option now is to be destroyed or destroy all of our enemies…. There is no other way anymore.
