Chapter 514 - 515 – Forgotten Story – Staff – Part 9.
2 years had went by after the death of both the Erza Pendragon as well as the Mordred Pendragon.
The king grieved, cried and despaired.
Many woman tried replacing his wife, but he denied them all. Even when Merlin tried to force Arthur to get himself an "new lover" or Morgan tried seducing him, but all failed as he denied all of their request and attempts.
He had only love for his beloved Erza and did not wanted to replace her.
…
However, even though he still couldn't get over their death, he still kept his duty as an king and as an hero as he continue slaying and slaying and slaying and slaying, monsters over and over and over and over.
Saving the day again and again and again and again.
Honestly…. He was like machine.
Saving and destroying, saving and destroying, saving and destroying.
Merlin and Morgan madness had reached an new heigh.
After obtaining the Excalibur, Arthur would no longer age and he would recover from many different wounds.
Not only that, but the Excalibur was far stronger in terms of rough power compare to its predecessor, Caliburn.
This brand new sword allowed the Arthur to vanquish evil and push back the chaos, saving the people and giving them more peace than ever.
…
However, even with this powerful new sword.
Even with his new found power of youth, regeneration and energy restoration, he still felt tired.
But why and how? It shouldn't be possible thanks to his blade.
Yes. It shouldn't.
….
But that only apply to the physical exhaustion.
Demon, spirit, angel or human. They all have mentality and it's also have its limit.
But he never shown any mental exhaustion ever before while he still had Caliburn.
So, what the hell is going on?
The answer was already explained before.
Erza.
She was helping his husband recover mentally while she also used her demonic magic to take away his burden and instead bear it herself.
Merlin did tried using some spells on his own or some drugs, but they barely did anything.
If anything, his mental struggle had worse beyond anything he was experiencing anything and it was all Morgan and Merlin fault who demanded "more heroism!"
Honestly… He was dying "inside", if you know what I mean.
And the only way he really survived all this struggle wasn't because of the Merlin support.
Wasn't because of his knights.
Wasn't because of a Caliburn.
It was all thanks to the Erza.
It wasn't her love alone. She put up hard work, even more work than any of the knights or some pathetic attempts of "help" that made by Merlin and Morgan.
All of the work she was to support and protect Arthur.
But now with her gone?
With the "defect product" gone?
Arthur started slowly dying.
But neither Merlin or Morgan had noticed it. They were too blinded by their "perfect hero story" and madness to notice the reality.
The only one that knew was Erza who was now the Excalibur.
She watched in horror as her loved one was slowly dying while he was still unknown willingly using his wife as an weapon.
She couldn't speak to him and Merlin made sure of that.
However, she could still communicate with the Mordred, feeding him the informations.
And after the long wait, all of the preparations had been made.
"?"
"Ogres? Why would they?" – asked confused Arthur.
"We don't know sir. But the fact remains that they are going on the rampage and that they are demanding to speak with you instantly, if not they will continue killing." – replied sir Lancelot.
"…"
(What is going on? We had an peace threat with the ogres… So, it doesn't make…. Shit.) – though confused Arthur.
"I will go there immediately."
"I don't know what is going on, but I need to end it quickly as soon as possible."
"I will be leaving this instantly, it's also better if I go alone, since the ogres really only trust me out of all the knights of the round table."
"Yes sir." – replied sir Lancelot.
"…."
"What do you mean Arthur left the castle suddenly?" – asked Merlin after Arthur had left the capital city long time ago.
"Didn't heard the reports sir Merlin?" – asked confused knight.
"Ogres suddenly went berserk and demanded Arthur to meet them face to face instantly."
"?"
(Ogres? But…. This isn't…. Morgana. Can you hear me?)
"…"
(Morgana!)
"She can't hear you." – said the voice behind Merlin.
"?"
"?!"
"Y-you?! Mordred!?" – said Merlin as he turned around as saw Mordred right front him.
Without hesitation Merlin tried casting an spell, but he suddenly stopped as he saw something he wasn't expecting to see.
Caliburn.
This moment of confusion caused Merlin to let his guard down for moment, with allowed Mordred to use artifact to seal away Merlin power, trapping him for moment, before then teleporting him away.
"?!"
"Wait! You?! Are you really sir Mordred!?" – said confused knight.
"Yes."
"I'm indeed Mordred Pendragon."
"And I had come to end this false age of chaos and reveal the truth of this matter to all the Brittan!"
"It is time to destroy this kingdom of lies."
"It is time to destroy this kingdom of chaos."
Rebellion.
Mordred Pendragon.
The one who thought to be dead had returned.
Not only that, he had come back with something nobody would expect.
Caliburn.
Not some blade that looks like it or some good looking fake.
It was the true Caliburn.
Mordred let the fairies and the knights, knights of the Britan.
Over half of the knights of round table, the most loyal knights of a king Arthur had also joined the rebellion.
Reason?
They knew the truth.
Mordred revealed them the truth, about the false age of chaos and about how Arthur was turned into playing of a mad mage Merlin and witch Morgan.
The reason why only half of a knights of a round table joined was simple.
The other half were servants and puppets of the mad creatures.
But why the two mages didn't noticed anything and why are they not doing anything?
Simple.
Erza and the fairies.
Morgan, she enslaved fairies and forced them to work and die for the Arthur while pretending to be his friends and allies of the Brittain.
An false queen of fairies.
However, with the guidance of Erza, Mordred was able to rescue the spirits, fairies and creatures alike that were enslaved by the false queen.
But the mad queen didn't noticed, did she? Its thanks to the plan that was being made. They pretended to be enslaved, while preparing special trap for the mad witch and the mad mage.
That trap?
Banishment.
Morgan was banishment to the fairy realm where she was confronted by the fairies that she once enslaved and had rebelled against her.
While Merlin was straight up send into isolated place where he ended up meeting many of his victims and those who were turned into "monsters" because of him.
Not only that, the banishment completely cut them off from the Brittan, so they not only couldn't know what was happening, but they also couldn't just teleport there.
They were cut off.
And that gave Mordred and his rebellion time to destroy Brittan and slay countless people.
Why Mordred and his rebellion was killing and destring Brittan?
Why they didn't just killed Merlin and Morgan.
Simple put, they needed to destroy their seeds.
In case of their sudden death, Merlin and Morgan obsession caused them to think about this possibility and it turn, caused them to commit even more horrible crimes.
They turned people into monsters, making them into something like "copies" of the two mad creatures that would carry out the duty in case of their death.
And the number of the creatures they had created… The number of people they had murdered and replaced, was massive to the point this rebellion of this scale needed to be conducted in order to murder every single seed that the two mages had planted.
They were killing monsters that were pretending to be people while also destroying any form of "emergencies" that the Merlin and Morgan spread across the Brittan.
They were destroying the Brittan in order to save its people and stop the false age of chaos.
The reason why they banished both the Merlin and Morgan without killing them right there was to buy time to destroy the seeds and modifications that the two had placed, since their death could cause both of these things to trigger, with is why they are doing it this way.
The ogres, who were one of the victims of the Morgan manipulations were furious and also joined in, creating an distraction for Mordred and his rebellion.
Arthur left to deal with the ogres…. But it didn't too long for one of his loyal knights to inform him about the rebellion.
And the one leading it.
"…Mordred?"
The king hurried back, finding out that the rebellion was really happening.
"Long live king Mordred!"
"Death to the false kingdom!"
"Destroy the false age of chaos!"
"Destroy the lies!"
"…"
"What is going on?" – said Arthur as he saw many of his knights killing innocent people and destroying the things that they are in their path.
"STOP IT!" – shouted the king as he rushed in.
"!"
"Sir Arthur! Please stand back! We don't want to hurt you!" – said the knight as he drew his blade.
"What is the meaning of this?! You dare to draw your blade against me?! Against the innocent people of the- "
"THEY ARE NOT PEOPLE!" – shouted sir Lancelot as he stepped forward.
"!?"
"Lancelot?!" – said shocked Arthur.
"What is the meaning of this!?"
"…."
"Sir. The people we are murdering are not real people; they are monsters created by the Merlin." – said sir Lancelot.
"!?"
"Merlin?! Monsters?! What the hell are you talking about?!" – shouted Arthur.
"THIS IS THE TRUTH YOU IDIOT!" – shouted Lancelot.
"Everything we believed in! Everything we though about the age of chaos?! ALL LIES!"
"Merlin! He and the witch Morgan was behind everything!"
"Sir! There is no such thing as an age of chaos, it was all Merlin and the witch Morgan doing! And we- "
"WHAT DOES IT HAS TO DO WITH KILLING INNOCENT PEOPLE?!" – shouted Arthur as he snapped.
"…"
"Sir. Those are NOT people. They were once, but Merlin twisted their beings into monsters! Monsters that would become new Merlin in case of his death." – replied Lancelot as he drew his blade.
"Sir. I'm sorry, but we cannot let you stop us…. Continue destroying the seeds."
"!?"
"STOP IT!"
And so, Arthur and Lancelot blades clashed, trying to stop each other.
…
But in the end, Lancelot was decapitated.
However, the people that Arthur tried protecting had all died, all were killed by the knights led by the Lancelot.
He didn't understand it.
Why one of his most trusted knights betrayed him and started destroying the Brittain?
….
But it wasn't all.
The entire round table fallen apart and half of the knights that were part of it were now dead… While other half turned traitor.
…
He didn't understood anything, but all he knew is that he couldn't stay idle as he began swinging his blade, cutting left and right his beloved soldiers and knights, including his most trusted knights of a round table.
He cut all of them down, but he couldn't save anybody.
Many people were dead and the cities and town crumbled, even his castle that was an symbol of hope and pride was destroyed.
Who did it?
Mordred.
His son who he though he was dead had came back and was the one leading the rebellion.
Not only that, but according to his knights, the blade that the Mordred was wielding was Caliburn.
Not an fake one. The REAL Caliburn.
Many questions filled his mind.
Many questions that he couldn't understand.
Betrayal.
Merlin lies.
The false age of chaos.
People turned into copies of a Merlin.
He couldn't understand it.
He couldn't understand any of it.
The entire Brittain was in ruins.
It was destroyed.
His nation was completely destroyed.
Why?
Why did this happened?
….
He decided to confront the person who waited at him at the Camlann hill.
Mordred.
He was the one who waited for his father arrival.
