Chapter 509 - 510 – Forgotten Story – Staff – Part 4.
Arthur.
An average boy.
An son of a farmers.
An nobody.
Just a guy.
He was an farmer.
But this isn't bothered Erza.
If anything, she liked the boy.
He was energetic, simple and had wild fantasies.
He was bothersome and annoying sometimes, but didn't bothered Erza at all.
If anything, it made her smile.
She enjoyed the boy presence and before long, she started getting used to him, before then becoming her friend.
He was only 10 years old boy when she met them, while she herself looked like she was in her 18, even though she lived many times longer than him.
But even so, she felt attached to the young man. She just enjoyed his presence, even though he annoyed the living hell out of her, she still enjoyed the boy presence.
The boy was young, but was interesting.
He wasn't an hero, an king or an villain of the story, he was an nobody, an yet he was interesting. If anything, she found the boy more interesting than hero, king or villain she met before.
An interesting nobody.
She was glad that she met the boy.
She was glad that she was friend with the boy.
It was simple. She liked the boy.
And so, the time went by and their bonds grew.
The boy grew up and his feelings for the girl changed… For worse or for the best.
He started looking different at her.
And so, half of a year later after he reached 15 years, he decided to propose.
The young Arthur without hesitation proposed to Erza, catching her completely off guard.
He expressed his love, his bonds, his friendship and all of his feelings, saying simple thing.
"I love you."
…
She didn't knew how to react.
She heard those words many times over as she wondered around as an hero and as an king.
But those were either one sided love or just greed nor she felt anything when they proposed to her.
However, Arthur?
She didn't knew.
She wasn't an pure human and she lived through the ages.
She knew that the boy was only 15 years old human and she was an being of power that could even face off against godly beings.
But right now? In that moment?
She was flustered.
She knew the boy and she also developed feelings for the boy, with also confused her.
She liked the boy.
She loved the boy, but not in the way lovers would love each other, more like an family love. That what she though of it and nothing more. Nothing romantic.
However now?
This?
It caused an spark.
She was struck like innocent maiden.
An spark of true love.
She didn't knew.
She didn't knew how to react.
She didn't knew how to see.
She didn't knew how to respond.
She didn't knew what to do.
….
But then she was happy.
Love and family.
This was the only things she was missing.
Things she wanted to experience.
Things she wanted to understand.
She didn't responded to the young man confession; she was just that stunned.
And instead, she just smiled…. And cried.
Without any hesitation she wanted to say "Yes".
….
But then she remembered.
She remembered her family.
Her father and mother.
The memories she wished to be forgotten, the memories she wished were erased, all of them resurfaced once again, causing her expression of joy to be twisted into the expression of despair.
She didn't wanted to remembered, but she did.
Fear.
She feared.
Not her safety, but the Arthur safety.
Is she were to love the boy for real.
If she were to marry the boy and be his wife.
He may end up suffering by the hands of the madness of their parents.
They are still waiting around the sword, but who knows what they would do if they were to meet Arthur?
She feared the Arthur fate could be far worse than death if she were to become even just an lovers.
However, she was hurt.
She was hurt beyond believe.
She wanted to love the Arthur.
She wanted to accept the Arthur love.
She wanted to become happy with the Arthur.
She could not reject the confession nor she could accept it…. It was too painful for her.
…
And so, she decided to give the trail.
An trail that would be impossible to pass.
An trial that wouldn't harm the boy.
An trial that would make so that they would never became even an lovers.
"Pull out the Caliburn and I will become yours."
She hated herself.
She knew that the Arthur would fail no matter what.
But even so-
"Okay. Watch me!"
The boy said with his cheerful expression.
"And once I do, I will promise I will make you the happies woman in the whole world!"
The Arthur left his village alongside Erza, traveled around before the finally arriving at the holy grounds where the Caliburn was, still stuck in the stone through the ages.
Erza stared as the Arthur began approaching the sword, watching with sadness as she knew that he would fail.
"I'm sorry." – she whispered so quietly so Arthur couldn't hear.
Arthur approached the stone and grabbed the blade and as soon as he did, he was faced with the trail.
Terror, agony and suffering.
The nightmares.
The despair.
He felt it all.
He also felt the weight of the power.
He felt the weigh achievements.
He faced against the Erza.
And she knew what was going on…. However, she did not looked away, she did not wanted to disrespect the man she loved….. And so, she watched something she did not expected.
She though that he would fail instantly.
And yet he didn't.
No.
He held onto the blade.
And what shocked her even more was his gaze.
It wasn't an gaze of fear and terror.
Nay.
It was conviction.
It wasn't love.
It was his pure will that endured.
…
And so, he slashed.
He slashed fears.
He slashed nightmares.
He slashed the challenges.
He slashes the foes.
And the sword moved, right in front of Erza eyes.
She wasn't expecting that.
But she was still surer he would fail.
There were those who managed to move the blade by just an bit, only to fail, and so she knew that there was no hope….. However, he did not gave up.
He slashed the trails with his might, with his conviction, with his will, moving and pulling the sword bit by bit.
Erza stared…In completed disbelieve.
"This had never happened."
Nobody and I mean NOBODY had ever draw the sword so high before.
This had never and I mean ever happened before and Erza saw countless people trying to pull out the sword.
But he? An nobody? Just an farmer boy who wasn't even an warrior?
He continue cutting down the trials without stopping, destroying them all while pulling out the sword slowly out of the rock, causing the rock itself to slowly come apart, emitting bright light.
And so, his finally challenge came.
Erza "Hero Of Wondering Play"
He fought her, exchanged blows, destroyed each other and so on.
But the boy will was never shattered.
It wasn't an power of a love that led him power.
No.
It was the boy own will, own power.
And so, he slashed, destroyed the Erza "Hero Of Wondering Play".
…
And finally, pulled out the sword, destroying the rock that bounded the sword had been destroyed, destroying the seal and causing an bright column of the light to erupt.
An column so bright and tall that it could be seen all through the Brittan.
The sword of the knight king. The sword of the Uther Pendragon.
The sword of the legends had been finally been pulled.
And the new pendragon had been born.
His name.
Arthur Pendragon.
…
"!"
"Look! I did- "
Arthur stared at his sword, understanding his victory and understanding that he was the chosen.
He understood that he proven himself.
He wanted to show his lover that he passed her trial.
But when he turned around he saw something he wasn't expecting.
An despair.
Erza face was filled with overwhelming despair.
She wanted to tell him "Run".
She wanted him to "Run away and never turn around".
She wanted to save him from something he wouldn't understand…. But.
They saw it.
They contacted her.
She heard their voice.
"Erza."
Merlina and Morgan.
They knew.
They knew that the one they had been waiting for.
They knew that he had destroyed all of the trails and did the impossible.
They knew that the one with the true qualification had finally succeeded in destroying their trail, proving themselves.
The "TRUE HERO".
The one that they had been waiting for all this time.
The one that they had been searching for all this time had finally appeared.
True Hero.
Arthur Pendragon.
Was born.
And it wall Erza doing.
She unknowingly found the true hero.
She unknowingly made the true hero to be born.
She unknowingly caused her lover to become the true hero.
It was all her doing.
But she didn't do it for him to become an hero.
No.
She wanted to protect him.
She wanted to protect him from something he would not understand.
And now?
Her actions had caused something she wished would remain just an fairy tail to become an reality.
She turned her lover into the true hero.
It was supposed to be an moment of joy….. But it was not.
No.
For her it was nothing more than-
DESPAIR.
The gears that she wished would never move…. Had once again moved…. And now, she stared at his love not with compassion or love but with despair.
She felt the TRUE DESPAIR in that very moment.
