Chapter 127 - 128 – Umil kingdom advance.
The Umil army had finally arrived near the Rock city.
However, the Adernul kingdom was already waiting for them.
Once again, a full out assault was commenced by the Umil kingdom and Rock city was under siege.
At first sight it may seemed like the Umil faction had upper hand, since they weren't assaulting a heavy defended location like before.
But the problem was with the enemy getting a support from the players and the army of the sobeks couldn't participate in battle.
The battle only lasted for few hours and in the end the Umil faction was victors once again.
Or some it seemed.
"FUCK!" – shouted ClownFrog.
"?!"
"Why are you shouting suddenly man?" – asked GreyHunt.
"Don't you see?! Beside the players, there was no presence of the main army or anything! They only left minimal forces in here!" – said ClownFrog.
"These fuckers gave up on the Rock city and used it to buy time!"
(What the hell is going on?!)
(Before they were trying to brute force everything over and over again, but now they are using some proper strategies?!)
(Is this the king doing?)
(No.)
(There is no way it is his doing.)
(There is only one person that comes to my mind right now.)
(The crown prince.)
(He is known as excellent strategies as well as leader even among the players.)
(It was definitely his idea!)
(If so, then he is too dangerous to be left alive.)
HE MUST TO DIE.
(We may have gained a Rock city with barely suffering any casualties if not any, but the enemy gained time they needed!)
(Not only that, but the Rock city location is shitty!)
(The enemy can attack us from 3 different directions.)
(They may have weaker soldier than us, but they have numbers.)
(We cannot assign any soldiers to defend the Rock city while trying to attack other places.)
(Not only that, we don't have enough time to move our main army before they organize forces. It would take too long for the army to get to them.)
(Considering the current situation, the enemy just an upper hand over us that could lead them to winning the war.)
(…)
(You want to use tactics, huh?)
(You want to play smart, HUH?!)
(THEN HOW ABOUT I CRUSH IT EVERYTHING MYSELF, HUH?!?!)
"GreyHunt. Call the rest of the guild."
"This time, we will take them by surprise."
"…"
(Wow. He look really pissed, but also excited?) – though GreyHunt.
(Considering this bastard, I can say he will come up with something mad or weird or an nasty strategy, if not all 3.)
(But I think I will like it!)
[The next day.]
At the Ruby city.
"…"
(Fuck me.)
[Ru – Guild master of the Bulldog guild.]
(What the hell was that?!) – though Ru while standing on top of a wall.
(He could control an army of monsters and even managed to blow off my head while I had my strongest buff on?!)
(Not only that, but he also recorded the entire fight and posted it online?!)
(People are now laughing at my guild!)
(All the attention and fame I build up was completely stole by that Purple Hyena guild! Everybody are now talking about them!)
(Not only that, but crown prince ordered me not to attack and instead guard this place!)
(Did he lost the faith in me and my guild after losing fortress city?!)
(FUCK!)
(I will destroy them for that humiliation and get my fans back!)
(Still, the rewards increase was something that I didn't expected.)
(These players that joined are average at the best, but there are some stronger ones mixed in.)
(The prince strategy may work!)
(These guys may have some monsters in their side, but our army is growing!)
(They may have stolen 2 of our cities, but soon our armies will launch an counter attack that will deal a devastating blow to the enemy!)
(Not only that, but there is no way these players will gain more contribution points that us!)
(If I end up in top 25 and gain the nobility status, everybody will forget about that loss and instead I will be even more known through the world!)
(Anyway, why I was put in defending this place?)
(There are 3 different cities. Ruby, Amethyst and Saphire.)
(Out of these 3 cities the Ruby city is located the furthest away.)
(I know that the prince ordered us to protect this place, but he put the main forces in the Amethyst and Saphire cities.)
(I guess he put us in case the enemy would launch a surprise attack?)
(Well, the enemy wouldn't be able to send their entire army here without us noticing, so they would probably send a small army instead. But with these forces here, they wouldn't stand a chance without the main army.)
(But still, what are the odds that the enemy would attack this place anyway?)
"Hm?"
"Hey, give me the spyglass." – said Ru.
"Yes sir."
The soldier handed a spy glass to the Ru.
"…"
"…"
"Sir?"
"Raise the alarms…"
"???"
"Sir?"
"RAISE THE FUCKING ALARM!" – shouted Ru.
"NOW!"
(SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT!)
(Why the fuck they are here?!)
(The Purple Hyena guild?!)
From afar, on the sand running lizard, a group of 6 people were heading at full speed towards the Ruby city.
However, the city defenses had already saw the group coming and raised their alarms.
"Results?!"
"No enemies! There no other armies or group coming from different directions, even a sky!" – replied the knight.
(What?) – though Ru.
(They are rushing at us with just a group of 6?)
(No wait!)
(That guy create his own army!)
(After he defeated us back then, he began turning NPCs and players into undeads!)
(He can also summon more than 200 undeads at the same time!)
"EVERBODY! THIS IS AN ORDER!"
"FOCUS ON THE UNLIVING LIZARDMAN!"
"He is the bastard that made taking over the Stone city possible!"
"He is a necromancer that can turn everybody into undeads!"
"Don't let him get close!"
The players and NPCs who were guarding the Ruby city began launching their attack from top of the wall at the members of the Purple Hyena guild.
ClownFrog and Oron instantly deployed their shields in order to block the projectiles that were flying at them.
(Shit! How high is their intelligent stat to make that kind of sturdy shields?!)
(But!)
"Don't stop firing!" – shouted Ru.
"They maybe monsters like bastard, but that doesn't mean that they are invincible! Sooner their shield will be destroyed!"
It's just as Ru suspected.
Oron and ClownFrog shield were shields from the common classes and weren't anything special.
Their barriers maybe way stronger compare to the others players barriers, but that doesn't mean that they cannot be broken.
It didn't took long for their barriers to break down.
ClownFrog and Oron deployed their second barriers, but even those barriers broke down from the barrage of the attacks.
"RAMPAGE!" – shouted ClownFrog.
"ON IT!"
Rampage suddenly rushed to the front.
"[Projectile Hate]! [High Defense]! [Water Scales]!"
"[Sacrifice My Self For The Queen]!"
[Sacrifice My Self For The Queen]
[Active]
[Chose a target.]
[The chosen target damage will be transferred to you, but would only take of the X% of the damage that the target would take. X is 100 – (Skill current level times 2) = Current damage taken: 98%]
[The damage taken would be scaled on your own defense.]
[When the skill is active, increase your own basic attack damage by Y%. Y is equal to the skill level times 2. Y=2.]
[The effect lasts for 10 minutes + Z seconds. Z is equal to the skill level times 30.]
[If you move too far away from the target, the skill will automatically be deactivated.]
[Current target: Sand Running Lizard (The one that Rampage is ridding.)]
Rampage activated multiple defense skills as another barrage of projectile was coming the group way.
Rampage used her own body as a shield in order to protect the party and even used [Projectile Hate] to make the projectile attacks change slightly trajectory to her.
However, many of the projectiles were still getting past her. The [Projectile Hate] did not had that big of a range in the first place.
The party members defended themselves with their weapons or their monsters.
"FUCK!"
"Why the heck they are not stopping?!" – shouted Ru.
"Mages! What the hell are you waiting for!"
"Hit them with your strongest AOE spells!"
"Now!"
(?)
(The mages stopped attacking?) – though Oron.
"Boss! The mages maybe trying to cast their AOEs on us!" – said Oron.
"Then kill them." – said ClownFrog.
"On it!" –said Oron.
Oron took out his crossbow and began firing at the mages that were on top of the wall, killing them one by one, but suddenly, the knights players stepped in and acted as their shields.
(Tch! They learned, huh?) – though Oron.
(But, it's too late!)
The party members were finally reaching the wall, allowing Blueberry to take out her grenade launcher, since the enemy got finally in her attack range.
Blueberry fired with her grenade launcher and the projectile flew high.
However, right as the grenade was about to hit, the tank players deployed their shield barriers and blocked the grenade and its explosion.
"!"
"Oh. They saw it coming." – said Blueberry.
The mages that were on top of the wall had finally ended their casting and launched all of their strongest attacks at the group.
"!"
"Rampage! Wall!" – shouted ClownFrog.
ClownFrog and Rampage suddenly got off their sand running lizards as the rest of the guild members stopped in tracks.
ClownFrog summoned huge group of the skeleton servants before then deploying the dome version of the burning ribcage barrier as the Rampage deployed her barrier wall.
The attacks flew and hit the skeleton servants, breaking through and killing them all before then finally reaching the Rampage and ClownFrog defenses.
A huge explosions of magic and elements occurred that ended up creating a cloud of dust and completely blocking view of the area.
"…"
"D-did we get them?" – said Ru.
Hehehe. No.
The cloud of dust settled down and players saw the members of the Purple Hyena guild unharmed.
"?!"
"How?!" – said a random player.
"That was our strongest attacks!"
"How are they alive?!"
"Are they cheating or something?!"
"…"
(Fuck me. That was close call.) – though ClownFrog.
(If I didn't deployed the skeleton servants as a meat shields to weaken their attacks, we would end up getting hurt badly from that barrage right now.)
(If they had some stronger players among them, the barriers would probably not last and we would have gotten hit.)
"Still, they had a chance."
"But they wasted it."
"Now, it's our turn!"
