[VRMMO] Dead One

Before Avriones was yet to be released, a different game was dominating the world.

[Evolution Ragnarök]

Evolution Ragnarök was MOBA game (multiplayer online battle arena).

In this game, a world went through pretty much rough time and the gods decided to try to make a new gods in thier place.

The new creature of that world: robots, a giant insect, mutant plants or chimera of two creatures were roaming around.

Gods like from ancient Greek were an chimeras for example the Poseidon had an avatar that was a chimera of a shark and the electric eel that could create a water copies of him that would explode. While for example gods Norse mythology were giant bugs, for example Thor was the rhino beetle that instead of hammer had his horn enchanted with lighting and could pretty much shoot a lighting out of it.

Pretty much. Mutants x gods = new being. A characters were pretty interesting to say a least and gameplay was very interesting.

Many people were drawn to the game and even today after the Avriones was released, people still play that game. It was just that good.

I was one of the players who got hooked up on this. I think I started playing few moths after the game was released? Maybe a half of year passed? I don't remember.

Anyway, at first, I just wanted to play this to pass some time, but the more I played, the more fun I was having.

Pretty much, I started playing more and more.

However, while playing I noticed that my rank was getting higher and higher.

At first, I thought maybe I was getting lucky, but then I realized the truth after playing some more.

"Huh. I'm good?"

It wasn't the luck that got me my ranking but my skills.

Honestly, it was quite surprising.

Most of the time I was playing as a support character, but even so, I was carrying games left, and right? I really didn't realized that I was just that good.

I even started streaming and become quite popular streamer.

However, this was not where the story ended.

One day I was reached out by a newly formed Esport team called SunShadow.

At that time the SunShadow was just a small unknown Esport and nothing like the current SunShadow.

They offered me a nice and interesting contract. I read through it carefully and there was nothing fishy about it.

It was straight up a good deal no matter how I looked at it.

I also was honestly curios about becoming professional player, so with that in mind and the good offer, I decided to sign the contract and join the newly formed SunShadow.

The team originally had 5 members.

The team leader went by the nickname SunMoon

And other members were: HunterJoe, Mukuk, Oil and me: Road.

Even though I as the last one to join, I quickly became friends with everybody, especially the team leader SunMoon. He was honestly a nice guy and you could even say that our teamwork was great.

We were rookies that were slowly getting up the rankings and we even manage to won some small tournaments against some other high ranking players and Esports teams.

The team was getting popularity and other things.

And before long, a large tournament was held and we were one of the participants.

It was nothing like any of the tournaments we entered before. The competition were the best players of the [Evolution Ragnarök].

However! We endured! We climbed higher and higher!

We almost lost the semifinal, but in the end, we manage to get to the finals themselves!

Our opponents were the Dragon Tiger. A popular Esport team that was active and formed long before the [Evolution Ragnarök] was released.

Pretty much, these guys were veterans players that shined in many different games and often ended up as one of the highest ranking teams.

We won the first match but ended up the second game. Now it's a final game that will decide who will win.

The team was confided of their victory, but I was honestly getting nervous.

In the second game we ended up getting completely crashed. As if they read our though or something before taking any actions.

"Look guys. We need to watch out for any weird movements they make. This guys manipulated us into walking into their trap." – said Road.

"Don't worry man. No need to be such pessimist. They got us once, but that trick won't work again!" – said SunMoon.

(You say that, but you pretty much got instant killed before you could do anything back then…) – though Road.

Anyway, the finally round began and pretty much around 30 minutes already passed.

The Dragon Tiger attempted to take down a wild monster called Abomination Fafnir.

The team that were to slay that monster would gain a blessing of the fake Fafnir that would make powerful minions spawn called Abomination Fafnir offspring that would aid the team.

Pretty much, these things are extremely annoying and can easily heavily damage the base while the blessing is active.

HunterJoe manage to spot the Dragon Tiger trying to kill the Fafnir and immediately we all rushed towards them and try to attack them while they were busy fighting the Fafnir.

However, while we were running, I had an uneasy feeling. A feeling that something was wrong.

(Why they are trying to kill Fafnir now? Fafnir blessing get stronger as more time passes, but it also becomes much harder to kill him.)

(These guys should know that it would take them too long to kill it now without us noticing.)

(Wait! What if they want to know!)

"Guys! It's a trap! Go back to the base! Now!" – said Road.

"?!"

"The fuck are you talking about man?! We can kill them and steal the Fafnir!" – said SunMoon.

"No! It's a bait! I don't see Hades anywhere! They are baiting us! If Hades goes into our base now, he can destroy our heart!"

"If we kill the Hades, then they will their main player and even with the Fafnir blessing we can still take them down! We need to go back, NOW!"

"Dude! No! We need to attack them now!" – said SunMoon.

"!"

"He just appeared on the map! He is heading straight to our base! I'm teleporting!" – said Road.

"?!"

"Dude! No! We have time!" – said HunterJoe.

"No, we don't! Just teleport back and kill him!"

I teleported quickly to the base in order to stop the Hades from destroying our base and leaving by team behind.

I though they would listen to the reason and teleport back with me.

However, they didn't.

They though they still got this and I would be able to hold off the Hades for long enough.

They got extremely greedy!

And because of their greed they didn't realized that I would have no chance against the Hades alone and secondly, I was right about the trap. As soon as they got near the enemy team, they ended up triggering a trap.

It was a bait and they fell for it.

Because they didn't listen to me, our entire team got annihilated and Hades destroyed our base and winning the game for the Dragon Tigers.

However, that wasn't the end of the story.

"The fuck you were thinking?! You throwed the game!" – shouted SunMoon.

"Me?! The fuking Hades destroyed the base before they killed Fafnir! I told you that we needed to head back! If we killed him, we could have- "

"Shut up! You are the reason why you lost the game!" – said HunterJoe.

"What the hell are you talking about?!"

"Yea! If you just stayed with us, we would be able to steal the boss and head back in time!" – said Oil.

(What the fuck are they talking about?! No matter how you look at it I was right! They could even watch the replay.)

"That's it! You are officially kicked out of the team!" – said SunMoon.

"?!"

"The fuck are you talking about?! Why I'm suddenly getting kicked out!?" – asked Road.

"You fuking heard him bastard! You are kicked!"

"Yea!"

(WTF?!)

(They all want to kick me out of the team?!)

(I wasn't even wrong or anything, so why I'm getting kicked out?! This is completely stupid?!)

I didn't know what happened nor I really understand their reasoning.

But in the end, I ended up getting kicked out.

However, that wasn't the end of the trouble.

A multiple articles suddenly popped out of a blue saying that bribed by one of the team sponsors to throw the game on purpose.

Obviously, I was extremely confused.

It wasn't one or two articles either!

On top of that, on one of these articles even SunMoon commentated, saying that it's probably the truth.

It was complete madness!

The one who throwed the game where them! Not me!

I obviously instantly called the SunMoon, but he blocked me.

In the end I called his girlfriend, she ended up answering my call. I was in quiet good terms with her, so I was hoping for her to explain something to me.

But she said that she doesn't know anything.

However, she did remember something suddenly. She heard SunMoon and his father talking about making some sort of articles.

It hit me.

The one who were responsible for all those fake articles were the SunShadow.

BUT WHY?!

First they kicked me out after they throwed the game and now they even spread fake articles about me being the traitor that got bribed?!

We were friend! Why the heck they are doing this to me?!

….

We were friends?

No…. I was the tool.

I realized something…. They used me….

They never wanted me to be friends with me, they just wanted me for my skills.

As we got more and more popular, I began seeing changes in them. At first, I just ignored it, thinking that they were just stressed or something.

But it was opposite.

They wanted more fame. More glory!

They wanted to climb higher and higher.

However, because of their stupid mistake they made that ended up losing the entire tournament, they panicked.

Instead of admitting like a normal person that it was their bad, they wanted to make it look like it was not their fault and instead blamed it on me.

They wanted nobody to make fun of them or anything to the point where they literally blamed everything on me.

But how could somebody do that?!

Just because you made 1 stupid mistake, I had to pay?!

This is straight up retarded!

Just how much you wanted to be popular to the point that you stabbed me in the back?!

I trusted you people!

I though of you like my real friends!

I just wanted to help you reach your dreams!

In the end, the sabotage done by the SunShadow did it work.

Road carrier was no more.

I gave up.

There was nothing I could do.

They completely ruined me.

I moved out and stopped streaming.

I even stopped using the nick name Road.

"And that was the end of the player Road." – said ClownFrog.

"…"

"Wow…. I-I wasn't expecting this at all." – said Rampage.

"Yea. How could they do that to you?!" – said Blueberry.

"Well, long ago some people would kill somebody innocent if they by any chance made a fool out of you." – said ClownFrog.

"World is filled with fucked up people that would do something stupid or unimaginable to you and I was stupid idiot that didn't realized that I was dealing with those people who I though were my friends."

"Heh. You don't need to believe me or not and honestly, I wouldn't mind you not believing. The SunShadow is now a proper and popular Esport and all. So- "

"I believe you." – said Blueberry.

"?"

"Hey. Don't you make too hasty judgment. I'm asshole and you know it. How do you not know I'm just trying to manipulate you by gaining your sympathy?" – asked ClownFrog.

"…"

"Because I was your fan." – said Blueberry.

"?!"

"I honestly was watching many of the SunShadow matches and you were honestly my favorite player. A cheerful support player that was the wings of the SunShadow. I was your genuine fan."

"I was watching that tournament back then and I saw the situation unfolding."

"I honestly was confused when I heard about you kicking out of the team and even getting reveal to getting bribed. But something was just off about that match."

"Your team would have lost the game even if you were to kill the Fafnir back then, so why it was said that you throwed the game when you were trying to save it?"

"Your story make complete sense and would explain many things."

"I'm not believing you because I'm your fan, but because I can see the reality."

"If you were really were to try to manipulate us, I would kind of realize that."

"Heh… Believe me?" – said ClownFrog.

"…."

"What about you Rampage?"

"Meh. I know Blueberry is smart and she doesn't speak things out of the sense. If you got her trust then so do I." – said Rampage.

"…"

"No regrets you two? There is no real evidence pointing to my truth." – said ClownFrog.

"Nope." – said Blueberry and Rampage.

"…"

"You crazy fuckers."

"By the way. I've been wondering about something. Why are you playing as the good guy?" – asked Rampage.

"Aren't you a good person?"

"…"

"I'm tired."

"I've been trying to be good person my entire life."

"Again and again, I tried to be helpful to the others, thinking that it would one day be paid back by having somebody help me when I needed to be helped."

"But… As you can see, nobody ever did."

"See that scar on my cheek?"

"I once tried saving a guy from bullies. I did ended up getting beat up pretty badly to the point where I was laying on the ground bleeding with broken arm, however I did manage to save the guy from them."

"And guess what happened afterwords? After the bullies left the kid that was attacked came back and looked at me. I asked him to help me, but he just abandoned me."

"Funny. I helped him and he abandoned me, even after I got beat up for him."

"And the funnier thing is, I kept trying to be the good guy afterwords."

"But… I have finally reached my limit."

"Why I'm keep getting punished even though I was helping people?"

"I decided to screw this and instead do what I want to."

"I decided to become the villain in that world and do whatever the heck I want to."

"And pretty much, that is my story."

"…"

"I'm sorry…" – said Blueberry.

"Don't be. I decided to tell you it."

"Anyway, what do you two want?"

"Do you still want to stay in the guild? Even after knowing that the infamous traitorous "Road" is the guild master?"

"…."

"I wish to stay." – said Blueberry.

"Yea! We decided to join you in the first place! It was our decision as was yours to become the bad guy." – said Rampage.

"…"

"You stupid people."

"Thank you."
