[VRMMO] Dead One

"For fuck's sake! How did he even blew up that barrel of the oil in the first place?!" – said the man that was picking up burned wood off the ground.

"Apparently, he got drunk and started playing fire. He wanted to show that fire breathing trick with alcohol, but he screwed up and accidently ended up throwing the torch into the barrel of the oil." – said the second person that was also clearing the area after the accident.

"Oh, for the love of god…. And I had so good freaking dream too!"

"About what?"

"About…. Shit. I forgot."

"Well, that how dreams works most of the times."

In the center of the oasis where the massive aquifers was located, there was a temple located right in the middle of the aquifers.

Right next to the aquifers, there was a group of armed individuals that appears to be clearing the mess after the incident.

"Fuck me… I think I'm going to have a drink after we are done cleaning."

"Hm? Didn't you said you wanted to get back to the bed as fast as possible before?"

"Yea. But now I'm wide freaking awake!"

"Sucks. Well, I think I will accompany you. Hey Tom, are you coming as well?"

"…"

"Tom?"

The armed individual turned around and tried looking for his friend, but he could not spot him anywhere.

"Tom? Where the heck are you? Did you went to take a piss or something?"

"…"

"For fuck's sake. Did he by any chance ditched us and went back to the bed?" – asked the man that was calling the name Tom.

"Nah. This guy is too big of the coward to ignore boss orders. He probably went to take a piss, let's just- "

"[Sudden Rush]."

Suddenly, out of nowhere, GreyHunt appeared right between the two men.

"?"

"[Sudden Strike]!"

Before either men could react, both of their heads were send flying.

(Good. Those were the last guys that were on the guard duty.) – though GreyHunt.

(Still, I got to say, these things that Blueberry made are quite nice to use.)

(Anyway, what is this place? A temple? It has Egyptian looking appearance and all.)

(It isn't tall or big or anything. Maybe it's something like a simple temple?)

(However, I have killed everybody on the guard duty and checked the entire oasis. The only place I haven't checked is those ruins. I guess the rest of them is probably inside resting.)

"Okay. Let's go."

GreyHunt walked on the wooden binge that was placed above the water and after crossing it, he began slowly sneaking around.

"…"

(I see. There are some stairs heading down. I guess the real temple is underground?)

(I thought there would be just few people inside, considering this thing size, but now I'm not so sure about their numbers.)

(I should be careful.)

After activating the skill, GreyHunt instantly went into the temple before then entering the underground.

After taking the stairs down, GreyHunt found himself in open space room with a three different paths.

(This place appears to be much bigger than I though.)

(But I do not see anybody patrolling or anything. Are the only people on the guard duty were the guys I took out?)

(However it doesn't mean I should relax. There is also a chance that I will end up running into somebody and do not see any good hidings spots in here.)

(Anyway, I can see all three paths very well, there are a lot of torches hanging on the walls that light up the paths.)

(From here I can see that each path is splitting into two, expect the middle path. The middle path appears to be stretching and I cannot see what is on the other end from here.)

"I guess I will have to just walk around at random."

(Lets go with the right path for now.)

GreyHunt began exploring the underground temple by taking the path right on his right.

After walking for a while, GryeHunt found himself in the crossroad.

"…"

"Door on the left path and the door on the right path."

GreyHunt walked towards the door on his right and after getting near it, he began inspecting the door, first by looking through the door keyhole and then inspected the bottom part of the door.

"…"

(The room on the other side appears to have no light in it whatsoever. Is there nobody there?)

"…"

GreyHunt took out one of his guns before then placing his hand on the door knob.

Carefully and slowly, he opened the door, before moments later opening the door completely.

"…"

GreyHunt grabbed one of the torches hanging on the wall before then entering the dark room.

"…"

(Weapons, armor and all other stuff.)

(This place appears to be an armor.)

GreyHunt entered the dark room and took out one of the swords that was laying on the shelf nearby.

(There only appears to be a common rarity equipment here. Too bad. It would be nice if there was a rare item or something good here at least.)

(But still, there entire room is filled with the equipment. We could sell it for some money or have ClownFrog undead equip them.)

"It may be better idea if we just leave them for now. We can give it to our allies that does not have any weapons or have the slaves use it."

(Anyway, what about the other door?)

GreyHunt left the dark room and quietly closed the door before then walking towards the second door and then opening it.

"!"

(Food! And a lot of it!)

(There is also a barrels of water and even some alcohol. The number of supplies in here is more than enough to feed that entire lamia tribe for the entire week if not two!)

(And armor with numerous amount of equipment and the giant storing room that is filled to the brim with supplies!)

(I have to take over this place no matter what!)

(I still didn't confirmed yet if the people here are bandits or not, but who cares? I was planning on killing everybody in here regardless.)

(Anyway, there two more paths I need to check out. I also don't know when I will find other people here.)

(So far, the simples' assassinations was able to take them down, but it was thanks to my assassin and bandit lord class. I don't know how hard the head on confrontation would be, but I'm in no rush to find out, since I want to stay hidden.)

GreyHunt returned back to the open space room where the stairs leading to the outside were located.

After getting back, GreyHunt chose this time the left path.

(I can heard somebody talking!)

GreyHunt walked to the end of the path and found himself in another crossroad with two different paths.

However, unlike before, one of the doors were not closed and not only GreyHunt could see a light in that room, but he also could heard some people having conversation in that room.

"!"

(Found somebody!)

(1, 2, 3… 5. I can hear 5 different voices coming from that room. There is definitely 5 people in there, but there is a good chance there is more people inside.)

(As for the second room… The door is closed shut.)

(Should I inspect it?)

(No. There is a chance somebody would end up noticing me. I have to take out the guys in the other room now.)

(Hm…)

(I guess it's time to use one of the Blueberry creations.) – though GreyHunt while taking out two glass object that were filled completely with unknown green substance.

GreyHunt quickly rushed to the door and kicked it opened.

As it turns out, the room that GreyHunt just entered was in fact a dining hall and inside it, there was a lot of people sitting next to the tables that were eating and drinking without the care about the world until GreyHunt appeared out of the blue and catched all of their attention in an instant.

"...!"

"Hey! Who- "

Before one of the men that were inside the dining room could say anything, GreyHunt threw the two glass objected he took out before at the people that were just eating.

The glass spheres shattered instantly after hitting the solid ground and as soon as it happens, an unknown green smoke began spreading through the dining hall.

"!"

"What is going on?! What is this?!"

"I don't know! But don't get close to it!"

The unknown individuals quickly began moving away from the entrance in order to avoid the green smoke, but suddenly, two more glass spheres were thrown at them and spreading even more of the green smoke through the dining hall.

'Cough' 'Cough'

"My god! What is this smell?!"

"G-guys. I feel weird."

"Me to..."

"!"

"It's poison! This smoke is poisonous!"

"Shit! Do something!"

"We can't! We left our weapons behind in the sleeping quarters!"

The people inside the dining hall were in the complete state of panic while more and more glass spheres containing the poison were kept being thrown inside, spreading the poison cloud.

While GreyHunt continue throwing the glass sphere, suddenly the door behind him opened.

"For fuck's sake. Keep it down, would you?! I'm trying to…. Sleep…."

An annoyed man that suddenly opened the door saw GreyHunt right in front of him.

"!"

"Int- "

Before the man could finish speaking, GreyHunt quickly rushed straight at him and decapitated the man with his sword.

After killing the man, GreyHunt quickly rushed into the room that the man just came out of.

"…"

"!"

"Guys! The poison disappearing!" – shouted one of the men in the dining hall.

"Hey, are you alright?"

"Y-yea. I think so? I guess the poison wasn't that strong at all?"

"Shit! Who the fuck was that anyway?!"

"No idea, but he is dead meat!"

The people inside the dining hall began rushing straight towards the exit as soon as the poison smoke disappeared, however as soon as one of them were about to exit the dining hall, a sound of the gunshot could be heard, fallowed up with the man falling on the ground lifeless.

After the man that tried to leaved died, GreyHunt rushed straight into the room and began quickly shooting at the people with his gun.

Some people equipped with the kitchen knives tried to attack GreyHunt, but it wasn't enough and they ended up getting killed left and right.

None of the people inside had any proper weapon or armor, making the fight completely one sided.

Some people tried surrounding and holding GreyHunt in place, but the he just jumped over them when they tried to do that.

Some people tried to escape the room while the chaos was happening, but GreyHunt was keeping the watch and anybody who tried were shoot to the death with his gun.

It wasn't the fight, it was a slaughter.

The fighting continues for some time and before long, all the people that were in the dining hall were dead, expect the one person.

"F-fuck. Who the fuck are you?!" – said the survivor.

GreyHunt didn't said anything, but instead he shot the men right in the leg.

"AAAAA!"

"Hey. Listen here buddy. The only who will be asking the questions is me and me alone. Got it?"

"First question. Are you guys bandits?"

"?!"

"Wait, you- "

GreyHunt shot the man other leg.

"AAAAAHHH!!! YOU FUKING MAD MAN!"

"I'm going to tell you something. You will die, but you will have either choice of dying quick or having a log and extremely painful death."

"If you get it, then answer the damn question!"

"!"

"Y-yes! We are bandits!"

"Good."

"Second question. What is this place?"

"I-I don't know! I swear! The boss found this place and he said something about this old ritual grounds or something!"

"…"

"Your boss. Who is he? And who is his right hand man?"

"!"

"I-I…"

GreyHunt took out his sword and cut off the man fingers.

"Answer."

"!"

"O-okay! He is a dark mage! He is researching the forbitten stuff and curses and necromancy! This is all I know!"

"Then what about his right hand man?"

"I-I don't know much! None of us does. He only fallow the boss orders. He is a tall man that is extremely muscular and has his entire face covered in rags and he does not talk at all. I swear! This is all I know about him!"

"…"

(He doesn't seem to be lying to me.)

"Last question. I overheard some guys talking about this place, that nobody expect you people dares to approach this oasis. Explain."

"…"

"It's a curse."

"During the day, the entire oasis is surrounded by mummies. Nobody can get in or out during that time. Thes mummies not only are strong but will also revive over and over again without the end."

"This place is widely known for being cursed among the merchants, since many people were killed by these mummies! So, everybody actively avoiding this place!"

"However, the boss found out that during the night, none of the mummies even dare to come out or even appear inside the oasis!"

"The boss thinks that the reason why the mummies appear isn't because of the curse, but instead a work of something that is inside the temple! He is spending all his days in the main room researching and trying to find out how the mummies works!"

"Now please! For the love of god! Kill me! I'm in so much pain…" – said the bandit while starting to cry.

"…"

"No. I have a new question now. How- "

Before GreyHunt could ask the new question to the dying bandit, a sound of the loud foots steps could be heard coming closer and closer.

"!"

Suddenly, the door to the dining hall was opened by the giant hand before moment later, a giant man squished through the door frame and entered the dining hall.

Upon entering the dining hall, the giant saw the entire dining hall filled with lifeless corpse everywhere with no survivors in sight.

The giant began looking around through the dining hall but as soon as he walked away from the door, GreyHunt who was hiding right behind the door before the giant entered had rushed straight at the giant man and leaped at him with his sword in hand before then swinging his blade straight at the men neck.

(Got you!)

GreyHunt blade had cut through the man rags, but as soon as the blade began sinking into the man neck, it suddenly stopped.

"?!"

The giant man arm suddenly launched his giant arm straight towards GreyHunt as soon as his blade got stopped in place, but before the man attack could reach GreyHunt, he already jumped away, avoiding the attack.

The giant, now aware the GreyHunt had turned around and looked directly at him while still having the GreyHunt blade stuck in his neck.

"…"

"Okay… I wasn't expecting this at all. You are a tough bastard, aren't you?"
