Chapter 146: Let’s meet them
Luke had to take another bath after the intense baby-making session he had with Nadia.
Nadia took a bath as well, while Luke lay on the bed, enjoying some cold soda he had bought from the system.
There was a reason he was still in her house, so for now, he decided to ask the system,
"Can you go through the classification of Gamma Pods again?"
[Indeed, host.]
[Based on how much Gamma one can absorb, Gamma Pods are classified into tiers.]
[Every magical entity awakens a specific tier of Pod, and that cannot be changed.]
[For instance, the chief of the village most likely possesses a First Tier Gamma Pod, which allows him to enhance his physical abilities. Once you reach the pinnacle of the first tier, you can actively enhance your stats as well. However, that requires training and consistent use of Gamma.]
’Hmm, when you talk about enhancement, does that mean my stats would increase with the help of magic?’
[Indeed, host.]
’How much, exactly?’
[The system could guide the host on how to do it, so initially, it was expected to boost around five to seven percent of your strength and speed stats.]
Luke snickered. ’That’s too low.’ Five percent of twenty meant his stat would only go up by one. That wasn’t nearly as impressive as he had imagined.
[It might sound insignificant now, host. However, with enough practice and an immense amount of Gamma to spare, you can even double your stats temporarily.]
"..!!" Now that was something worth noticing. Double... damn.
Just the thought of catching his enemy off guard by suddenly turning into a phantom hu*k was tempting enough on its own.
With a nod, he said, ’The next time I enter a dungeon, tell me how to do it.’
[Understood, host.]
[Now, coming back to classification, the second tier of Pod allows the host to freely manipulate Gamma to create barriers, heal injuries, and launch energy attacks.]
"Damn," he muttered, clearly impressed. More than anything, the healing aspect caught his attention. Wait...
’That reminds me, where is my reward from the quest?’
[It’s in the inventory, host. Just tear the scroll and you will gain the knowledge of potion brewing.]
Luke reached into the inventory and pulled out a brown parchment, neatly folded from top to bottom.
He unfolded it, only to find the syllables completely incomprehensible.
He did not bother trying to make sense of them and instead asked, ’Will it put me into a coma or something?’
[No, host. Just a slight sting, and you will need to remain seated for about half a minute.]
Luke nodded in understanding before tearing the scroll from the middle.
A faint silvery glow ignited from it, and the parchment dissolved as it was absorbed into his body.
"Ah..." A soft gasp escaped his lips as a stinging sensation surged up his skull.
It was not particularly painful, but enough to make him wince.
Information began to unfurl within his mind, detailing all kinds of potions. Healing, sleep-inducing, love, and even shape-shifting ones.
More than half a minute passed before he finally regained his senses, finding his breathing slightly uneven.
Letting out a slow sigh, he muttered under his breath, ’Thankfully, the ingredients used in these potions exist in this world.’
He could now brew some basic potions, enough to heal minor injuries. That would be his first goal, to keep several potions in stock before entering a dungeon.
Just then, Nadia stepped into the room, looking slightly surprised. "You are still here? Did you want to talk about something?"
Fresh out of the bath, she had a towel wrapped around her hair, skin flushed slightly, cheeks rosy, and a faint fragrance wafting from the woman.
Luke barely held himself back from approaching her and pinning her against the wall.
She was already too exhausted after their long two hour sessions of back to back love making. He would give her a rest for today.
"I told Dart that you visited my house, so he will definitely ask how it was and everything. So why not actually come over instead of making things up later?"
Nadia had already been thinking of visiting Luke’s house for a few days, so he believed this might be the perfect opportunity.
She paused for a moment before hesitantly asking, "Shouldn’t I bring something as a greeting gift? I have some fruit and bread."
Luke chuckled. "You don’t need to worry. Our family has me earning enough to feed everyone, so don’t think about it. Let’s just go."
He got up from the bed and walked toward the door.
Nadia loosened the fabric in her hair, thinking of changing her clothes before meeting his family, when suddenly, a warm sensation touched her lips.
She was caught off guard by the sudden kiss, one that did not last long.
Winking at her, Luke said, "Sorry, couldn’t resist."
Nadia’s already flushed cheeks deepened further as she glared at him. "That was inappropriate. Please maintain some restraint."
He chuckled and, feigning innocence, walked out of the room.
Nadia let out a deep sigh and closed the door behind her.
She stood there for a few seconds, still able to feel the lingering warmth of his lips on hers.
She knew the way they had gone wild today...she would be thinking about it the whole day.
Though she tried hard to think about it when Dart was around, Luke has such a tendency of taking her all around the house that she ends up thinking about it anyways.
’What I am going to do...he said it would take at least ten days to ensure success.’
Nadia could feel that Luke’s presence in her life had begun to influence her. She had promised herself not to be swayed by him, yet she would be lying if she denied how much he was starting to affect her.
Physically cheating on Dart was one thing, but she had a growing feeling that she was betraying him emotionally as well. It stung in her chest, twisting the dagger of guilt without mercy.
She decided she would do something about it today. But for now, she changed her clothes, combed her hair, and stepped out of the room.
Luke was seated at the table, and upon hearing her footsteps, he rose to his feet. "Ready to leave?"
Nadia nodded before warning him, "I should tell you, I haven’t interacted with people much for a long time. So I might make things awkward."
Luke reassured her, "Don’t worry, I will be there to ease things out."
Nadia nodded. "That’s the reason I even agreed to visit your place." Taking another deep breath, she added, "Alright, let’s go."
The two of them stepped out of the house and walked toward Luke’s place in silence when suddenly, a voice rang out from a distance,
"Wait right there!"
The loud, masculine shout made Luke let out a long sigh of exasperation as he saw a brown-haired man approaching them.
Nadia felt a flicker of fear and instinctively moved behind Luke as the man finally stopped in front of them.
Standing before Luke was Claw, the youngest son of the tribal chief.
With a wild grin, he said, "I have been looking for you, my savior."
