Chapter 201 : First Day of Being A Second Year Student
The next day.
Today was the first day of July and also the first day of the new school year. In the morning, as usual, we practiced at the training ground. Since we weren't officially second-year students yet, having not yet arrived and taken our classes, we continued practicing at the first-year training ground for our previous class. In a way, this was our last day of training at this training ground.
After a while, we decided to end today's training.
"Let's end today's training quickly. We have to get ready to go to our new class. After all, we're second-years today," I said.
"You're right. It looks like this is our last day of training at this training ground," Charles said.
We briefly looked around the training ground.
"Let's go back to the dorm," I said.
After looking around, we left. We chatted on the way to the dorm.
"Don't go to the academy first, Rid. Wait for us and let's go together," Noa said.
"I can't promise that. But I'll try," I said.
"You!," Noa said.
After that, we arrived at the dormitory building. Even though we were supposed to be second-year students, our dorms hadn't moved, and we remained in our previous dorms. We went straight to our respective dorms to get ready. I decided to take a shower as soon as I arrived. After showering, I went to my room to get dressed. While I was in my room, I heard the sound of a door lock being unlocked. The sound came from the front door of my dorm. Then, I heard the sound of the door opening and the sound of someone's footsteps entering my dorm. But I wasn't worried because I knew it was Irene who had just entered my dorm. I could sense it from her aura, and I was already familiar with Irene's aura.
I walked out of my room after putting on my casual clothes. Then I saw Irene getting ready to make breakfast, also wearing her casual clothes. It seemed she had just finished showering and hadn't had time to dry her hair, as I could see it was still wet. I also saw 2 medium sized bags in the corner of the living room, the other bag I knew was the bag Irene carried when studying at the academy, but as for the other bag, I don't know. But I'm sure that the other bag also belongs to Irene.
"You've finished showering, haven't you, Rid? Wait a moment, I'll immediately prepare the food," said Irene.
"You also look like you've just finished showering, Irene. Your hair still looks wet," I said.
"Ah about that, I rushed here so I haven't had time to dry my hair," said Irene.
"Even though you don't need to rush like that. If you feel bad because you didn't make me breakfast, I don't have a problem with that. Besides, I can make breakfast myself," I said.
"But this is an agreement between us. Because you have trained me, I will make you food," said Irene.
"Okay then," I said.
Then, I pointed my right hand towards Irene.
~Wind Magic : Soft Breeze~
I sent a gentle breeze towards Irene.
"I'll dry your hair, so you can focus on making food, Irene," I said.
"Okay, Thank you," Irene said.
"You're welcome," I said.
I mixed a little fire magic into the breeze to create warmth and help Irene's hair dry quickly. After a while, Irene's hair was dry, and Irene had also prepared her food. After that, we had breakfast together.
-
After a few minutes, we had finished our breakfast.
"Rid, can I borrow your bedroom or bathroom? I want to wear my uniform, I happen to have it in my bag. I brought my uniform because I plan to go straight to the academy after this," Irene said.
"Go ahead and wear it. But it's better to use my bedroom than the bathroom. I'm afraid that when you change into your uniform and it falls on the bathroom floor, it'll get wet. Well, even if you can dry it with magic, it'll still get dirty. So it's better to use my bedroom. Besides, when you were in the dorm, you always used your bedroom to change, right?" I asked.
"Yeah, that's true. I'm more comfortable changing in my bedroom than in the bathroom. Okay, then I'll borrow your bedroom," Irene said.
Irene then took one of her bags containing her academy uniform and carried it into my bedroom.
After Irene finished putting on her uniform, it was my turn to go to my room to get dressed. After a while, I finished putting on my uniform. I also attached a silver badge to my uniform as proof that I was now a second-year student. After putting on my uniform and attaching the badge, I left my room. I saw Irene still in the living room, checking her belongings in her bag.
"Are you done, Rid? Do you want to go straight to the academy after this?" Irene asked.
"Yes, I'll go straight to the academy," I said.
"Then, I'll come with you. Wait a moment," Irene said.
Irene was still checking her belongings in her bag. A few seconds later, she was finished.
"I'll leave this bag of mine at your dorm, Rid. It contains the clothes I wore earlier. I'll wear it again later when I prepare dinner here," Irene said.
"Okay. Then, let's go," I said.
Irene and I walked to the front door of the dormitory and opened it. Once outside, I looked around, and it seemed deserted.
"Looks like Charles, Chloe, and Noa aren't ready yet," I thought.
Since they weren't in front of their dormitory yet, I decided to head straight to the academy. Irene followed me without saying anything.
We continued walking out of the dormitory and eventually arrived at the academy lobby. When we arrived, there were quite a few students there. They were mostly first-years, as I didn't see any badges on their uniforms. They weren't wearing their badges yet, as they wouldn't be distributed until class on the first day. As Irene and I walked among the students, they immediately went into an uproar.
"Isn't that Rid Archie? He's the one who appeared in the newspaper that time, right?"
"He looks cooler than in the photo in the newspaper."
"That woman next to him, isn't that the Ice Princess?"
"So the news in the newspaper is true, that Rid Archie and the Ice Princess are currently in a relationship," the students said.
They kept staring at me and talking about me as I walked among them.
"You seem very popular among the first years, Rid," Irene said.
"It's all because of the newspaper that published about me. It even published about our relationship," I said.
"You're right. I didn't expect our relationship to be in the newspaper. Where did they get that information?" Irene asked.
"I don't know," I said.
After passing through the academy lobby, we made our way into the inner courtyard. Usually, we go to the building to the left of the lobby, but since we were now second-year students, we went to the building to the right of the lobby. We entered the building and looked for our classroom. Our second-year class, Class A, was at the far end of the building, just like the first-year building. We entered the classroom. It was still empty, and only a few students had arrived.
"Good morning, vice chairman," my classmates said.
"Good morning to you," I said.
It seemed that word of my being the vice chairman of Elevrad had spread among the second- and fourth-year students. But I didn't think much of it.
I looked for the seat I would be sitting in for the rest of my second year. As usual, I took the seat at the very back. Irene also took the seat at the very back, sitting next to me. I don't know why she chose to sit next to me, since she sat in the middle of the first year. But I chose not to ask. I just sat there until class started. The students in the class began to arrive as class time was about to begin. First came Julie, Lily, Leandra, and Kotaro.
"Good morning, miss. I didn't expect you to be in class already. No wonder I didn't get an answer when I called you in the dorm," Leandra said.
"Yes. I'm sorry I didn't tell you in advance that I came to class first," Irene said.
"It's okay, miss. Don't worry about it," Leandra said.
"Hmm, it's unusual for you to sit in the back, miss. Usually you sit in the front or middle seats," Lily said.
"It doesn't matter where i sit, Lily," Irene said.
"Could it be that you chose to sit in the back because you wanted to sit next to Rid, who's also in the back? Oh my, don't tell me you want to be alone with Rid even during class?" Lily said.
"I don't know what you're talking about, Lily," Irene said.
Irene's face was blank as she said that. After that, Lily whispered into Leandra's ear.
"I was going to tease her, but she didn't show any expression at all. I wanted to see her embarrassed expression," Lily said.
"Ahahaha, you're wrong if you want to tease miss. She's an ice princess, after all," Leandra said.
"You're right," Lily said.
Then they went to the seats they wanted to occupy. After that, it was Charles and Chloe's turn to arrive.
"You're here, Rid," Charles said.
"Yes. Sorry if I arrived first, because when I was getting ready, I didn't see you in front of your dorm," I said.
"It's okay, just relax," Charles said.
"Where's Noa?" I asked.
"Isn't he here yet? I thought he'd already come to this class," Charles said.
"No, he's not here yet. It seems like he will come soon and be angry because previously he wanted us to go together but in the end he went alone," I said.
Not long after, Noa arrived.
"Hey, you guys, why did you leave me? Didn't I tell you to come to class together?" Noa said, looking annoyed.
"See," I said.
"It seems you can see the future, Rid," Charles said.
Then, Mr. Alan entered the classroom. And the first lesson of the second year began.
