Chapter 196 : City in A Cave

Feline, Fee, and their group continued through the Regnum Desert. They continued their journey until they reached an area with high cliffs to their right and left. Then, they spotted a very large cave at the bottom of the cliff. They headed towards it. In front of the cave, about a dozen people, consisting of humans, elves, and demi-humans, were standing guard. Seeing a group of horse-drawn carriages about to enter the cave, the guards immediately intercepted the group.

"Who are you? This cave isn't a place you can just enter," said one of the guards.

"It's me," said Feline, emerging from one of the horse-drawn carriages.

"Miss Feline?" asked one of the guards.

He was shocked to see Feline appear. Not only Feline, but Fee and Ariu also emerged from the horse-drawn carriage.

"Miss Fee and Mr. Ariu too?!?!," said one of the guards.

All the guards were shocked to see the three of them.

"You three have returned from a mission in a faraway kingdom, huh?," said one of the guards.

"Yes, and now we want to go inside. Is that okay?" asked Feline.

"Of course, how could we not allow the ~12 Rebellion Commanders~ to enter the main base?" said one of the guards.

Then all the guards moved out of the way so as not to block the horse-drawn carriages that wanted to enter the cave.

"Thank you," said Feline.

"You're welcome, Miss Feline," said one of the guards.

"By the way, is 'Lord Raven' inside the base?" asked Feline.

"Yes, Miss. He went somewhere earlier, but he's currently inside. The other commanders are inside the base, having returned from their assigned missions," said the guard.

"I see. Thank you for the information," said Feline.

"You're welcome, Miss," said the guard.

Then, Feline's group's horse-drawn carriage entered the cave. At first, the cave appeared to be a typical deserted cave, with many rocks surrounding the walls. They continued to explore the cave. The deeper they went, the wider it became.

Finally, they saw numerous buildings within the cave, ranging from small buildings to large towering structures. The sheer number of buildings within the cave was enough to suggest that it was a city, though not a large one. Who would have thought that a city existed within a cave in the Regnum Desert, one of the most dangerous places in the northern continent?

The city was filled with people from many different races. There were humans, demi-humans, elves, and others. They seemed to be going about their daily activities within the cave normally, without any conflict, despite their different races.

Upon arriving in front of the city, Feline and her group decided to stop and all dismounted from the horse-drawn carriage. The townspeople stopped what they were doing when they saw the numerous horse-drawn carriages stop right in front of the town. They all noticed who was in the carriages. They immediately became excited when they realized that Feline, Fee, and Ariu were in the carriages.

"Welcome back, Miss Feline, Miss Fee, and Mr. Ariu,"

"We've all missed you so much,"

"Are you tired? Would you like me to cook you something?"

"Come to my bar, Miss Feline, and I'll serve you my best beer," said the townspeople.

"As always, the people in this town are very friendly."

"Thank you for your welcome, but I apologize if I can't accept your request right now. I have to report to the 'lord' first," said Feline.

"It's okay, Miss Feline, but make sure you come by our place when you're free," said one of the townspeople.

"Okay, don't worry. Now you can go back to your activities," said Feline.

"Okay, miss," said the townspeople.

They stopped crowding around Feline and the others and resumed their activities. Feline, Fee, and Ariu continued walking down the city streets, followed by their subordinates. They were seen heading towards the tallest building in the city. Upon arriving in front of the building, Feline ordered her subordinates to halt.

"You don't need to follow us anymore, as we will report directly to the 'Lord'. Since you have no more duties, you may take your leave and enjoy your day off in this city. Thank you for your hard work," said Feline.

"Okay, miss," said the crew.

They began to disperse and spread out throughout the city to enjoy their break. Ludmila was also seen heading to one of the buildings in the city.

Meanwhile, Feline, Fee, and Ariu began to enter the building. The building was very large, even the floor-to-ceiling distance was very high, perhaps around 20-30 meters. There was no one else in the building except the three of them. The three of them continued to walk down the hallway.

"Even though you're sometimes lazy, I admit you're very skilled at managing and leading them," said Fee.

"I'm not lazy, but I admit I like to sleep longer than you guys," said Feline.

"Then isn't that considered lazy?" asked Fee.

"If my sleeping habits don't interfere with my assigned missions, then I'm not lazy, hehe," said Feline.

As they were chatting as they were about to walk down the hallway, a pool of water suddenly appeared beside Feline. The pool of water quickly formed into the shape of a woman.

"Wow, wow, look who it is. Long time no se—" the woman said.

But before she could finish her sentence, Feline suddenly struck the woman's head with her right hand. The woman's head instantly shattered, sending a splatter of liquid splattered all around. However, the liquid that splattered wasn't blood, but water. The splattered water began to move back toward the woman's head. The woman's head slowly began to heal until it was completely restored to its original state.

"Oh my, you're being unfriendly to me as usual, Feline," the woman said.

"I've told you several times not to surprise me, Undine," Feline said.

The woman Feline was talking to was named Undine.

"Ahahaha, sorry, sorry. It's just so funny seeing you always get surprised when I appear near you. I wonder if someone else surprised you, would you crush their head too?" asked Undine.

Feline didn't answer Undine's question and just stared at her with scornful eyes.

"Long time no see, Miss Undine," said Fee and Ariu.

"Long time no see, Fee, Ariu. You're such good kids since you still call me 'Miss,' unlike our little cat who never once calls me 'Miss,' even though I'm stronger than her," said Undine.

"You're so noisy, Undine," said Feline.

"Ahahaha, it looks like our little cat is having a-," said Undine.

Before Undine could finish her sentence, an arrow suddenly struck her. The arrow was so powerful that it shattered Undine's upper body, from her stomach to her head. But strangely, the arrow didn't seem to penetrate Undine's body and destroy the wall behind her, as if it had vanished immediately after destroying her.

"Your laughter really annoys me, Undine," said a woman in the hallway directly in front of Feline and the others.

Feline seemed to be observing the woman in front of her. A moment later, Feline immediately realized who it was.

"Saria," Feline said.

In front of Feline and the others stood a female Elf holding a bow. Her name was Saria.

"Long time no see, Feline, Fee, Ariu," said Saria.

"Long time no see too, Saria," said Fee.

"You seem to be doing well, Miss Saria," said Ariu.

"Well, as you can see," said Saria.

While they were chatting, Undine's upper body suddenly began to recover.

"Aren't you guys being a bit too much? I know you can't hurt me, but that doesn't mean you can just destroy my body," Undine said.

"It's your own fault for upsetting others, Undine," Saria said.

"Well, I can't deny that I sometimes annoy people. Instead, would you all like to go to the meeting room? Let's go there together now; it seems 'Lord Raven' is waiting," Undine said.

Hearing Undine's words, they hurried to the meeting room, ignoring what had happened earlier.

-

A few moments later, they arrived in a very spacious room.

"You three just arrived, huh? I heard you failed the mission given by 'Lord'," a man said.

Feline looked at the man who had spoken. He was in the corner of the meeting room. He was large and tall, almost touching the ceiling. He was a member of the Giant race. It seems the reason this building had such high ceilings was because of this man.

"Yes, the three of us did fail the mission given to us by 'Lord'," said Feline.

"Even so, why didn't you decide to return here immediately? Why did you only arrive now? It seems like you've been having fun elsewhere, even though you failed your mission," said the giant.

"Please wait a moment, sir," said Fee.

Before Fee could finish, Feline suddenly signaled for her not to interrupt.

"This is my fault, because I ordered the group to stop at every country we visited on our way here. If punishment is to be given, I deserve it because I'm the one at fault, they did nothing wrong," said Feline.

"Thank goodness you're aware of your mistake. What kind of punishment would be appropriate for you?" asked the giant.

"I do deserve punishment, but it should be from Lord Raven himself, not you. Why do you seem so enthusiastic about punishing me?" asked Feline.

"You damn cat, you're getting bolder by the day," said the giant.

"Hohohoho, I admire you, cat. Even though you failed your mission, you can still talk like that," said an old man.

The old man was small with pointy ears. He was of the Dwarf race. He was seen riding a golem made entirely of steel. The golem was quite large, perhaps the same size as the giant man. Two young female elves were seen sitting on the golem's shoulders. The two female elves looked like twins because they had similar faces. Their eyes were also similar, both having different colored eyeballs.

"I don't need praise from a junk-crazed midget like you," said Feline.

"As usual, you have no manners with me who elder than you," said the old man.

Besides them, there was another person in the room. There was a man with horns and a reptile-like tail. There was a woman who appeared human, but parts of her body were covered in bandages, and one eye was also bandaged. The woman was seen carrying a large scythe behind her back.

And last, there was a human man wearing a hat. He had a sword at his waist and two small rifles that he kept beside his thighs. There were a total of 12 people in the room. Meanwhile, Feline was still talking, or rather, arguing, with the old man from the Dwarf race.

While the two were arguing, suddenly the man in the hat and Undine knelt down. The others were confused to see them both suddenly kneel.

"Everyone, please be quiet, Lord Raven has arrived," said the man in the hat.

While they were focused on watching what the man in the hat and Undine were doing, they were suddenly startled by the presence of a man wearing a mask in the middle of the room. They had not noticed his presence at all. Surprised by his presence, they immediately knelt down to him.

"Greetings, Lord Raven," they all said.

The masked man, named Lord Raven, was the "Lord/Master" Feline and Fee had referred to.

"As usual, you all behave like this when I arrive. That's enough formality, now get up," Lord Raven said.

They all stood back up at Lord Raven's command.

"We'd like to apologize, Lord Raven, for some of us didn't notice your arrival," Undine said.

"It's okay. Well, enough small talk, now I'd like to hear your report," Lord Raven said.
