The Violence Witch’s Yuri Harem

Chapter 256 – The Return of the Robots

“Miyuki, do you copy?” Asked Katja. “A bunch of trucks just drove off from underground. Is it time?”

She, as well as Carol, Hecate, Sarasa, and Ririna, watched the dark tower of the PSF from the shadows of an alley. They heard the spectacle that Iroha and Narumi put on through their earbuds while waiting for the time to strike. When the sirens blared on one side, the other side also grew agitated. Truck after truck emerged from the parking lot under the dark tower. Only now was there a pause.

“That’s right. Iroha and Narumi succeeded. They’re sending their troops there now.” Back at the hideout, Miyuki sat on one side of Reia with Bea on the other. Reia had the laptop in front of her and had some footage of surveillance cameras from the city pulled up.

“They’re on route to the House.”

“Pfft… What a bunch of idiots.” Sarasa covered her smirk. “They just made it easy for us!”

Bea cut her off with a sigh. “Don’t get too carried away. You’ll have to face less defenses, but we still don’t know what’s waiting for you inside. Be careful.”

“We still don’t know…” Hecate said. “Miyuki, you didn’t get any new visions?”

“No… Nothing that would help you get to the top dog’s office at least.”

“What are you so worried about?” Said Sarasa, reassuring Hecate with a few taps to the shoulder. “They’ve just sent them all away. They’re practically sitting ducks. Nyahahaha!”

“Aren’t you forgetting something?” Carol’s elbow found itself lodged on her side. “Have you seen any robots leave yet? They still have the round tank from before. There’s no doubt in we’ll have to fight it again.”

“Didn’t you and Iroha wreck it?” Ririna asked. “You even hit it with a bus!”

“…” Carol stared. “It was a train. Not a bus.”

“Ah! I mixed them up…”

“Come on… What she hit it with doesn’t matter right now. Her point still stands.” Hecate said. “It was a big impact, but the robot wasn’t destroyed. But even if it was, we would have to assume it was repaired.”

“I see… Can we really do this, then? We were powerless last time.”

“We’ll be fine…” Carol shrugged. “Hecate got a powerup, and Katja doesn’t have a big hole in her belly this time. We’ll be able to fight at full power.”

“When you put it like that…” Ririna paused. “Maybe I should wait outside until you’re done… I haven’t changed. I’d just be there needing protection.”

“It’s not like that, Ririna.” Katja smiled. “If you’re scared, we’re not going to force you, but it’s always good to have someone like you around. In a way, we’re all brutes who can’t do anything other than hack away at the enemy. But you’re different. Your creations open up new avenues of attack, so don’t worry. Protecting you is just a different way for us to attack.”

Ririna wiggled her shoulders while hiding her blushing face. “Ehhh…? Really? You really think I’m that important… Thank you. By the way, I got these for you.” Around ten blue pebbles sat on Ririna’s extended hand. “These will protect from the robot’s flamethrower. If the pebble gets too hot, it will explode into a chilling mist to put out the fire.”

Everyone grabbed one. Turning them. Analyzing them. And finally stuffing them into their pockets.

“Thanks.” Katja continued. “See? You’re already showing your worth and we haven’t even gone inside. Have some confidence.”

Sarasa shook her head. “Don’t praise her too much. I have a feeling that was just a convoluted scheme to fish for praise… Ririna’s more cunning than she looks.”

“What? How rude! When have I ever done anything cunning?!”

“Hmm… I dunno… Maybe you’re just good at hiding it. This one was too obvious, though.”

“It’s not like that… I always do whatever I can to help…” With downcast eyes, Ririna fished through her pouches. “Here’s a potion for you, Sarasa. I call it mystery concoction X. Go on… gulp it down in one go. No questions asked…”

“Right now! Right now! You’re doing it right now! You snake!” Sarasa violently shook her head as the contorting vial approached her lips.

“What do we do?” Carol gasped. “I don’t know who to blame! Was Sarasa asking for it, or was Ririna actually fishing for compliments? It doesn’t feel right to do anything but let things play out.”

“Stop them anyway!” Hecate’s hands grabbed both girls’ shoulders and pried them apart. “We can hold a trial about this later. Let’s not throw away our forces like idiots like our friends over there.”

“…” Katja followed Hecate’s gaze to the tower. “I wouldn’t really call them friends.”

“Me neither. So how about we stop messing around and get started? They’re not sending out any more trucks. We may be able to get in without running into anyone now.”

“Fine…” Ririna corked the vial. “I didn’t make this for Sarasa anyway…”

“Woah! Scary! You’re actually planning on using that! I gotta tell Iroha you’re not as nice as you look! She has no clue who she’s been inviting to bed!”

Just as they were actually getting serious…

“Sarasa… Open up!”

“Nyyyooooooo!”

With most of the personnel gone, the way to the parking lot was left unguarded. It was a breeze to sneak in from the alley. Through the double door, and they were in. The first underground floor of the dark tower.

“*Sigh…*” Came Miyuki through the buds. “Good job getting in, but you took so long messing around outside that now the plan’s ruined.”

“Shut up…” Carol cut her off. “What plan are you even talking about? Weren’t you the one who said you didn’t know what was going to happen on the inside?”

“Hehe!”

The door opened to the wide hallway where they fought the round robot from before. Empty… For now…

“And you can hardly say we were messing around.” Hecate said. “We had to wait until we were sure the coast was clear.”

“Whatever the case, stay alert.” Bea said. “The battle has finally started on the other side, and they’ll keep the PSF agents busy for a while. Everything is going according to plan.”

Carol gave a little nod. “That so? We won’t take longer than we have to then.” She and Sarasa unsheathed their weapons, Hecate and Katja extended theirs. “Straight to the boss’s office!”

“Today’s the day we’ll finally be free.” Katja said.

“Hey… What about Shinji?” Hecate asked. “Where is he? We need to rescue him on the way up.”

Reia, from the other side. “He’s in a different facility. Only supernatural stuff is held in the research rooms.”

“Huh? How are we going to save him, then?”

“He’ll be released when the crimes of the Kurokawas come to light.” Miyuki said. “You’ll go back to the house, and he’ll be there. In tears, probably. While blabbering on about how proud he is and how far you’ve come.”

“Will he…? Shinji’s a more restrained man than you give him credit for.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure, Hecate… He usually remains calm and collected, but everyone has their breaking point. You might see a new side to him after this is over.” Said Katja.

“Ehh…? I’ve never seen that either.” Carol said. “Sound like something we’ll be able to laugh about. I can’t wait.”

“How about you don’t embarrass the person who’s been on our side the whole time?” A sigh escaped Katja’s lips.

“Whatever.” Carol led the way. “The stairs are right here. We going or what?”

But then, *step step step…* Coming down the stairs. “Going where, exactly?” Asked an arrogant voice as the man behind it became fully visible. Daisuke, with his suit, slick hair and glasses, arrived as if expecting them.

“D- Daisuke…” Everyone readied their weapons.

“Why are you so surprised? You didn’t seriously believe we had no idea you’d be coming.” He stopped near the stairs, keeping a good distance from them. “Well… We weren’t expecting this turn of events. If you’re here, that means the incident at your old base was a distraction… I knew it was strange when only two of you showed up. Those fools on the field overreacted…”

“It wouldn’t be a good distraction if they didn’t.” Katja scoffed before extending her sword. “Either way, it’s your loss. You fell for it and left your base undefended. Take us to my grandfather or we’ll make you regret it!”

“Undefended?” *Thud!* A giant spherical metallic object fell from the ceiling at the press of a button. “Who exactly left their base undefended, huh? Did you forget about this?!” The robot was back and immediately sprayed his flames at the girls. The flames whizzing by dampened Daisuke’s voice. “The only reason you escaped last time is because that monster was here! You don’t stand a chance against our machine without her!”

With a corridor this wide, the first few flames were manageable.

“Oh… Wasn’t that thing supposed to the ultimate anti-monster weapon? How shit is it if even a girl can give it problems?” Carol grinned.

“Shut up, shut up! Your stupid friend is an exception! If it weren’t for her, we would have captured you at the House, and we would have captured you here. Why does she keep getting in your way?” Daisuke clicked his tongue. “But today, that ends! She was stupid enough to go to the House and make you come here by yourselves. Without her around, you don’t stand a chance.”

*Bang!* Before the robot could chase them, a dent appeared on the metallic sphere and pushed him back. A small bullet from a rifle cut through the air with a red aftertrail. A bullet that would’ve bounced off now left a bigger dent than the tank cannons Carol summoned last time.

“Huh? What was that?” Daisuke gasped from behind the robot. All he saw was the stagger and Hecate’s rifle.

“You see now, you pompous bastard? If you think Iroha’s the only person you have to worry about, you got another thing coming. We’re all monsters here…”
