Chapter 250 – Getting a Good Taste
The dark tower of the PSF stood as one of the tallest buildings in Three Records. Near the top was an office where an old man with grey hair smacked the desk in front of him with more vigor than the youngster in front of him had.
“Why haven’t you found them yet?! How long does it take you fools to find a handful of girls? They can’t have vanished into this air!”
The man with black hair and a black suit across from him was Daisuke. In front of the patriarch, he was as humble as any of the other members of the family.
“We- we should find them soon, Father. We found out earlier this week that they did in fact not leave Three Records. It should just be a matter of time now.” Daisuke lowered his head to avoid the Kurokawa patriarch’s gaze.
“I told you idiots they didn’t leave from the beginning. If you had just listened to me…”
“Bu- but you also told us to pursue their car to every last corner of the world. Even the evidence pointed towards them escaping.”
The old man raises his voice at the audacity of trying to pass the blame. “I don’t wanna hear it! When you noticed the car had disappeared, you should have abandoned the idea immediately and assumed it was a feint. They would never leave Three Records. It was obvious!”
In hindsight.
“Of course, Father… We should make some progress soon, so if you’d just wait a little longer…”
“We don’t have a ‘little longer’!” The patriarch paused and stared down Daisuke. “Katja… That rebellious brat is still out there doing who knows what instead of getting ready to take over the family. How long is it going to take us to set her straight? We can’t entrust her anything as she is! Our legacy will crumble the moment anything happens to me.”
“We’ll need to enact stricter selection for the selection of the next heir.” Daisuke shared the man’s anger. “A brat from a branch family should have never had the opportunity to inherit the family. The only thing she’s good for is being a puppet.”
“We’ve endured worse.” The old man said. “Once we get our hands on her, we’ll beat the rebellion out of her and turn her into the perfect heir. A few years after she takes control, we preemptively select the next heir and have her perish in a mysterious accident. The Kurokawas will prevail. But for that, we need to get our hands on her right away!”
“But how? What are you thinking, Father? We can’t possibly find her any faster.”
“Yes, we can. We stop holding back.” A smirk spread across the man’s face. “Shinji’s been keeping his head low, doing office work like nothing happened. Take some men with you and arrest him. Interrogate him and look into his financial records. He’s the only one who could have helped them escape.”
“Arrest him without any reason?” Daisuke asked. “You know that weasel is good at covering his bases. If word of the arrest ever gets out, you’ll be charged with abuse of power.”
The patriarch stared without a word. “Did you not hear what I said? I’ll take responsibility for whatever happens. Word is not getting out. I can assure you of that…”
Under the shadows of Three Records lurked one of the city’s most wanted figures. A monster who, even when tied down by the most powerful organizations, managed to escape free and lurk the shadows once more. That monster headed for an unassuming apartment at the edge between residential and entertainment districts and let herself in.
“I’m back!” I kicked open the door to the living room in our hideout. “Miyuki! It worked! My thing is fixed!” With my special technique, lunging embrace, I captured the silver-haired beauty without fail.
“Iroha? You’re-”
“Yep! And it’s all thanks to you! *Sigh…* You’re so smart sometimes. Though I guess it’s not being smart and just looking into the future. But maybe you need to be smart to make sense of it. I don’t know.” Does it work like that? Why is she not saying anything? Cause I’m not giving her a chance?
“Of course, of course.” I continued. “I know what you’re thinking. You’re very glad to see your beloved girlfriend again and happy, but you can’t forget you’re not the only one who wants me… It’s sad, I know… But the others are fighting in the other world for our sake. Up against that wicked Thivadi! I know our reunion was short, but I have to sprint over to their side and help them!”
“No…” Said the tsunderish voice from the side. “We’re done.”
“Guhhgueeeh?!”
“That’s right.” Hecate smiled. “We finished our mission and came back not long ago. Great timing!”
“…”
“Ahahaha… Did we break her?” Narumi asked.
“Mi- Miyuki… What do I do? I think I’ve been separated from my girlfriends so often that I’m starting to see illusions. One waved me off like I was an idiot, the other one was really nice, and the other one is Narumi.”
“What’s that supposed to mean…?” The last of the illusions in question let out a confused laugh.
“No no… They’re very real, Iroha. Think about it. If they were illusions from you missing your girlfriends, why would Narumi be there? Is there anything you wanna tell Carol?”
“Huh? Tell me? Wait… You didn’t…?” Carol stood up from the couch.
“You’re real? You’re really back?” My whole body started uncontrollably trembling. Joy… Yes… Out of joy for seeing them safe and sounds, but also… “Oh no! I’m dead! Carol’s gonna kill me!”
The moment I curled up, she jumped in and grabbed me by the collar. “Wait! Why? Did you actually do something with Narumi? How? We were with her the whole time! And you just came back! It’s not possible!”
“No… Of course not…” That’s just a fact. Last time I saw any of them was before I left to meet with Velvet. “I just assumed you’d kill me anyway because you’re cute like that.”
“*Sigh…*” She let go off me… “You idiot…!” Then head chop!
*ping!*
Game over…
Bad Ending #1772 – Yandere Carol’s Revenge
“Ahem… Anyway.” I stood up. “I’m glad you’re all back. Is anyone injured? What about you, Katja? Anything I can do…?” My fingers pervertedly wiggled as I inched in closer. Her arms and legs have small cuts all over. I could heal that. “Hmm?”
Hecate caught my attention.
Left eye, dark, indescribable color. Right eye, deep red. One… Two… One, two!?
“Hecate…!”
“Fufufu…” She assumed a cool pose where she dramatically covered her right eye. “You finally noticed…” Deep red glowed under her hand. “Behold, Iroha, my final form!”
“Woah… Your eye’s healed?! How? Is it real?” I reached for her shoulders.
“Of course it’s real.” And her hands supported my waist. “You could say a lot happened.”
“Wait… With you two side by side…” Carol pointed at us. “Now your eyes match. Tsk… Why did it have to turn red? That’s unfair!”
“Oh… Please, Carol…” Hecate said. “Your crown matches her eyes too. Just let me have this one.” Her grip tightened.
“Ughh… I- it’s not the same! The crown only shows up temporarily. It’s much better to have something permanent.”
A disappointed sigh from a third party interrupted them. “At least you’ve both got something matching. In that sense, I’m lagging way behind.” That was Katja.
“Hmm… That’s not completely true, is it?” Hecate said. “Your sword has been turning red a lot lately. You got something.”
“Because of my own blood!”
“Still counts. Stop complaining.” Carol shut her down.
Ahh… It feels like we’re getting along even better than before… How wonderful… “I’m so stunned… I would have imagined that you’d come back with your eye healed. Isn’t that kind of a miracle? Miyuki!? Why didn’t you say something?”
“Hmm…?” She smirked. “I obviously didn’t want to ruin the surprise.” Seriously? Did she know Hecate’s eye would get healed? She can’t be serious… “Ahahaha… Don’t glare at me… That was just a joke. You know I don’t see all the details.” Sigh… Just messing with me again…
Since we were already holding each other, I kinda settled on Hecate’s welcoming lap. “I’m guessing you’re the one that got some kind of vampiric thing then.”
Hecate blinked. “Yes… How did you know?”
“I have my ways. I don’t know the specifics, though. Is it a new power, or did you turn into an actual vampire?”
“Fufufufu… Aren’t you underestimating me, Iroha?” She put on a dramatic smirk, showing off her gleaming canines. “I told you this is my final form. I have reached the height of my potential. I, Hecate Bloodblight, have achieved my millennia-long mission. I have finally become a bona-fide vampire.” Woah…
I’d clap, but she’s getting cheeky. “Ehh… You lucky girl.” I playfully poked her face. “You’re acting all grandiose, but I bet you’re actually so giddy that it’s embarrassing. Come on. Stop acting tough and show me your cute side.”
“Ahh…! Geez! Iroha! You’re ruining my moment here…”
Hehe… Right on the money.
“So… What does being a vampire mean exactly? How do you feel?”
“Oh, I feel amazing. The injuries I sustained all healed, I feel energized, I see so many new possibilities, and my mood has been through the roof!”
“Heh… The mood might have a different explanation.” Snarky Carol.
“That’s great. You’re back but better than before, then?” But surely turning into a vampire is not that simple… “What about food? I wouldn’t really know but… Don’t vampires find normal food disgusting?”
“Apparently not… We had a little snack when we returned, and it tasted normal. Pretty filling too.”
“So you can still eat normal food…” There are so many vampires in games and anime and whatnot, all with so many different rules, that it’s hard to predict what it means for Hecate. “What about blood?”
“Blood…?” Hecate’s eyes locked onto something. Dilated, blinked, then back to mine. Hmm?
“Yeah… Does it taste good now? Maybe you wouldn’t know yet, but do you want to try it? Does looking at necks give you an urge to bite them or something?”
“Ehh? Uhmm… It hadn’t happened yet…” Her cheeks were turning red and she was getting distracted. “Iroha…?”
“Hmm?” I stared at her. “Arrgh!” It hurts!
Before I could blink, her fangs sunk into my neck.
“Hecate!” “Iroha!” The others all gasped one of our names.
“Sorry… I couldn’t resist getting a little taste…” She mumbled without pulling her mouth away from my neck. ‘Little’ my ass! She’s gonna kill me!
“Ohh…?” No… She’s not… I extended my hand and stopped the others from jumping in. “Ahhn~” It’s actually very gentle… It’s making my whole body feel fuzzy… My strength’s leaving me…
Hecate pulled back her head with a thin coat of blood coating her lips. With a gentle grip, she sat me next to her on the couch so I would fall. Next second, she passed out on the couch.
“Hecate?!” This time we all agreed on the name.
“This is it. My life’s purpose is complete…” And she was out.
“…” What just happened.
“Did… Did she just pass out?” Carol asked.
“From what?” I asked. “Sheer bliss?” That’s exactly it, isn’t it? What kind of vampire gets so happy from sucking someone’s blood that they pass out?
“Well… She had it rough recently… Maybe it all caught up to her at once.” Katja said.
“Ridiculous…” Carol rolled her eyes. “*Sigh…* Take her to bed, Iroha, and spend some time with her.” She waved me away.
“Ehh? Can I?”
“Do whatever you want. It’s the last time I’ll let her have you to herself. Tell her to enjoy it while it lasts when she wakes up.”
So nice of her… Maybe Carol’s getting used to the harem life…
