What Do You Mean I Have To Comprehend Dao As A Mortal God?

"Is there anything else I should know about you aside from the fact that you’re apparently a billionaire in this world?" I asked, giving Valletta a pointed look.

She sighed against my neck, not even commenting on how she had been licking my neck non stop for the past half an hour.

"Fufufu~ The only thing you need to know about me is that I find you absolutely irresistible, my dear Master."

"Yeah... I kind of figured that out after the first time you sucked my life essence..."

"Fufufu~ Can you blame me? You are, after all, a Divine being. Your essence is way more delicious than anything possible~"

I turned to her, "I noticed that you didn’t react like this in front of the other two Mortal Gods? Diana and Siti are also Mortal Gods aren’t they? But yet I didn’t see you clinging to them."

She giggled, "Ufufufu~ That’s because I have recognised you as my Master, Master. I will never find the life essence of anyone else more delicious than yours for as long as I live~"

"That sounds like you could have just designated some random person to be your master and then just suck their life essence from then on..."

"Fufufu~ I do not mean it like that Master. I meant that since I have already chosen you as my Master, it is a personal pride for me that I will not see anyone else as better than you."

She caressed my chin with a finger, tickling my skin and sending shivers down my spine.

"Uh huh... I feel like I still need to ask but... How long are you intending to just sit here?" I asked, gesturing to her legs that were draped over my lap while she cuddled against me.

"My, my~ I thought Master was asking questions about what you should know about me?"

"Yeah. So anything else I should know about aside from the billionaire thing?"

"Mmm... How about the fact that I find you really irresistible?"

"You literally just said that a few moments ago."

"Then that’s all you need to know, Master~"

Sure...

I then thought of something, "Actually... Since you’re running a logistics company... Can’t we just ship our things through you?"

"Ufufufu~ We already are, Master~ Anything that comes in and out of this island is handled by my company~ I’ve already signed an agreement with Olivia. You were there at the meeting, weren’t you?"

Ah... I think I might have some vague recollection about us contracting a logistics company to handle the delivery stuff but I had forgotten the name of the company itself.

Valletta continued, her hand drawing idle circles around my chest, "Fufufu~ Why do you think Miss Olivia lets me get so close to you without trying to stop me despite being so vehemently against it when we first met? It was part of the agreement that she allowed me to get as close to you as I wanted unless you rejected my advances~"

Oh right... I remember Olivia being quite upset about the fact that Valletta was sucking my life essence at first so I thought it was quite weird that she didn’t even try to stop her from continuing this after becoming my Guardian.

I thought the two of them just had a talk and then solved the issue and I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it so I didn’t ask for the details either. I was just happy that my Guardians are getting along at least, especially given the fact that I heard from Diana and Siti that some Guardians actively sabotage each other just to get closer to the Mortal God they serve.

She leaned her head on my shoulder, "Mmm... I suppose I know what you are after, my Master~"

I turned to raise any eyebrow at her, "What do you mean?"

"I am aware of your power to claim our abilities as your own. Since you have claimed mine, you would also want to know how to use it and improve it, right? You need only to ask, my Master. I am happy to aid you in any way possible."

I gave her a wry smile, "Since you already know... Then yes, I would very much like to learn how to use your powers if you are willing to teach me."

"Fufufu~ Of course, Master. Let’s just start with the basics first~ You already know how to use some of my powers I assume?"

I looked around to see if I could find something metallic that I could use her powers on and spotted a few metallic spoons that were resting on top of the coffee table in front of the couch.

I then lifted my hand to concentrate on them, using Valletta’s powers to lift them up slightly into the air before letting them drop down on the table again with a soft clink.

She smiled at the sight of that, "Mmm... For you to be able to do that all on your own is already pretty impressive, Master. It took me awhile before I managed to learn to even lift up anything with my powers. I suppose that’s to be expected of a God~"

I shrugged, "I didn’t really do much... It’s just a feeling that I got so I would say the ability was instinctual to me... Don’t think that’s anything impressive though... And seeing what you can do, I’m very sure I am far behind."

She giggled again, "That, in and of itself, is already quite impressive, my Master~ But no matter~ With me here, you will be able to use my powers easily once I guide you as well~"

She then waved her hand towards the spoons, prompting all of them to rise up into the air and do a little dance across the table before lining themselves up in front of us

The vampire then gestured towards them, "Try to move them towards you, Master~"

I did as she asked, reaching out my senses towards one of the spoons that were floating at the end to try and pull them towards me.

But even though I could sense it, I could feel that there was something else anchoring them in place and preventing me from pulling it away.

I realised that it was Valletta doing that and she most likely wanted me to try and increase the strength of my pull by giving me some resistance to my powers so I played along.

I focused on the spoon and reached out my hand, joining hers as I tried to grab the spoon with as much force as I could with her powers.

It really felt like I was squeezing the front of my brain as I felt the power curl around the spoon like an invisible hand before I pulled at it.

The spoon wobbled slightly but then snapped back into place without moving an inch closer to me.

I frowned at it and doubled my efforts, wrapping another invisible hand around it to yank it towards me.

Once again, the spoon wobbled and tilted itself at an angle with the thinner end pointed towards me.

The moment I got a little distracted by that and released my concentration slightly, the spoon snapped back to its original position once again, resetting my progress.

Valletta giggled, showing no visible strain in maintaining her control over all the spoons suspended in the air.

"Ufufufu~ You are on the right track, Master~ Just a little more~"

Pretty sure I need more than ’just a little more’ to get anywhere...

Nevertheless... I focused on the spoon again, using what was equivalent to four invisible hands to tug at the spoon.

The spoon started shaking a little more violently and it moved just slightly closer towards me.

Even then, I could still feel a tremendous force trying to pull the spoon back into place and I focused even more, dragging it forward a fraction of an inch until I felt my focus snap from the effort and the spoon simply slid back into its original position again.

"I can’t do more than that..." I sighed.

"Fufufufu~ You managed to wrestle control over it from me, Master, even if it’s just for a moment~"

"You call that wrestling control from you? It barely even moved and you are maintaining control over multiple of them at the same time."

"Fufufu~ My most beloved Master... There have been other people who have powers that are similar to this in the past within my old world... And there was once where over thirty such people tried to do what you did at the same time. They barely even made the object wiggle from my control. You are Divine, my Master. You will be able to use this power way better than anyone else, perhaps even me~"

Well... I’m not too sure about that... I believe the power is tied to how coloured in your entry in the Jade book is but... I guess some of the colour might come from me learning how to properly use this power.

Guess I just need to practice more.
