Chapter 267 - 241: Wild Dragon
The night by the Raging River was as deep as thick ink, and the Red Iron Dragon unfolded its massive wings and four ferocious Dragon Arms.
The river’s surface boiled and churned around, the ground was filled with deep pits and cracks, and the surviving Mages and Shamans stood petrified, their eyes filled with terror.
"These Dragon Qi Arms enhance me directly for now."
"The most crucial thing is that with my transformation as the foundation, I can better pursue other paths in the future."
Galos felt the power feedback from the newly-born Dragon Qi Arms, a contemplative light flashing through his black Dragon Eyes.
He slightly moved his four arms, sparks bursting from the friction of the scales, sketching the battle form for the future in his mind — a colossal body with five heads and ten arms infused with the mysterious Four Elephants, each Dragon head embodying different elemental power, like the incarnation of the legendary Immortal Dragon Queen.
Moreover, when supplemented with the exquisite techniques of the freestyle path, this immensely powerful dragon body will undoubtedly unleash world-shattering combat prowess.
Roar!
A deafening roar interrupted Galos’s thoughts.
Orc Ugosh, drenched in blood, charged again, the frenzied flapping Eagle’s Wings on his back, the totem markings on his skin writhing as if alive, the madness in his eyes almost turning tangible.
"Ignorant fool."
Galos flapped his wings, his aggressive and evil form soaring upwards, rushing toward the Beastman Leader.
The four Dragon Arms thundered simultaneously, the dense afterimages tearing the air apart, sealing off all evasive space for Ugosh in an instant.
Beastman Leader such as this Barbarian could only see Galos’s physical arms with his naked eyes.
However, his instinctive sensitivity was keen; although unseen by naked eyes, he could sense the presence of Dragon Qi Arms through the roaring and pulsation of the air.
The Savage Bear Essence behind him roared up to the sky.
A pair of sturdy bear arms emerged, unbelievably confronting the Red Iron Dragon head-on.
Bang Bang Bang!
With a dense, rapid thumping sound, invisible shockwaves erupted from the center of the clash, radiating and scattering like a great wind, making waves rise on the river’s surface.
The Savage Bear Essence enshrouding the Beastman’s body.
Its chest, arms, head... quickly appearing with collapsing flaws, forcibly blasted apart.
Yet, the Barbarian following the Totem Warrior path was more durable than the Ancestral Guard. When his Savage Bear Essence couldn’t hold, his aura suddenly changed, transforming into a beast soul dominated by the Giant Wolf Essence, becoming agile.
When the Giant Wolf Essence failed, it shifted again to the swiftly fast Eagle’s Essence.
Afterward, although somewhat dimmed, the repaired Savage Bear Essence came to the fore once more.
Ugosh had simultaneously fused with three major Beast Souls, making his battle feel like fighting three Wild Monster Lords simultaneously, with these three coordinated in unison, tenacious and unyielding.
Orcs were more suited to the Barbarian profession than humans.
Ugosh now seemed like a demon, issuing roar after roar, even being completely outmatched by the Red Iron Dragon, soaked in blood, yet showing not a hint of fear, fighting with determination and resilience like an indestructible cockroach.
"Truly exceptionally resistant to killing... since that’s the case, then destroy his Beast Soul with one blow."
The Red Iron Dragon’s thoughts flashed like lightning; he didn’t want to prolong the fight with the Beastman Leader. Such a strong, easily maddened individual was difficult to control or tame; it was best to kill him directly.
Buzz!
Level 4 Dragon Qi rotating!
Four arms merging!
Enhanced Claw Strike!
In an instant, the black-red Dragon Qi Giant Arm tightly adhered to Galos’s arm, inch by inch fusing, and Galos’s Dragon Arm instantly swelled, resembling engorged, sponge-like tissue, thick and elongated, with muscles towering under the triple stimulation of Dragon Qi, kinetic state, and Blood Burst Technique, causing the sturdy Dragon Scales to crack with a crisp sound.
Die!
The Red Iron Dragon let out a low growl, unleashing the amassed power towards the frenzied Beastman.
His attack’s coverage shrank, yet its intensity soared dramatically.
The approaching arms of the Savage Bear Essence shattered instantly like fragile glass, Red Iron Dragon’s giant claw unhindered, striking harshly upon the Savage Bear Essence.
Bang!
Innumerable light fragments scattered everywhere.
Ugosh’s Savage Bear Essence was forcibly blasted apart, utterly shattered.
Then came the Giant Wolf Essence, the Eagle’s Essence... under Galos’s lethal attack concentrated with triple power, they shattered at the slightest touch, vanishing without a trace.
With the Totem Beast Essence at its core destroyed, the Barbarian was as if struck by lightning, his aura plummeting.
But even so, Ugosh still did not regain consciousness.
"Kill!"
A hoarse roar squeezed out of his throat, as he opened his mouth wide, biting directly at Galos’ arm like a beast. The protruding fangs clashed with the Dragon Scale, sparking red-hot sparks.
The Red Iron Dragon’s arm shook off the Beastman, then grabbed him with one hand and crushed him instantly.
At this moment, the night wind howled by, and the Raging River whipped up waves.
The lightning, Dragon Qi, and blood patterns on Galos gradually dissipated, and his body slowly returned to its normal form, though his chest rose and fell, emitting heavy, scorching breaths.
Two tribal leaders, a group of elite warriors, the dual Anti-Air Array set up in advance, mage and shaman.
This setup would have been a dead end for any other young Dragon, with no chance of survival.
Even for Galos, such an intense battle took a toll on him; fighting many alone was perilous. Now that the battle had stopped, he immediately felt pain and exhaustion all over.
Fighting this way, placing himself in danger, Galos did not fear, but he did not actively seek it either.
Thus, despite his great Power, he chose to avoid the two leaders at the beginning of the war, instead launching surprise attacks to kill other high-ranking leaders, gradually wearing down their overall strength.
Reflecting on it now.
If those high-ranking leaders hadn’t been killed by him in advance and participated in this encirclement, Galos estimated he would have had to use the Gladiatorial Array Plate. Of course, if it wasn’t for his outstanding performance in those surprise attacks on important strongholds, the two tribes wouldn’t have prioritized him so highly, and the course of the war might have developed differently, leaving no opportunity to encircle Galos.
But regardless.
His cautious style once again allowed Galos to stand to the last at a relatively small cost.
"The Barbarian’s Fury and Frenzy... quite impressive skills."
Sweeping his gaze over the Barbarian’s corpse, Galos thought to himself.
He had some thoughts about the core skills of the Barbarians.
In the Dragon Race heritage, there is a special profession developed based on the Barbarian Path - the Wild Dragon.
A considerable number of Dragons chose the Wild Path, mainly the hot-tempered, naturally irritable Red Dragons, because after becoming a Wild Dragon, anger would no longer be just a negative emotion but transform into a source of energy, providing the Wild Dragon with endless Power.
When choosing his main profession, Galos considered the Wild Dragon.
But after much contemplation, he ultimately decided to focus on the Martial Dragon.
Frenzy and Fury, these two core skills come at the cost of sacrificing rationality. In such a state, wise beings have no regard for the world around them, fully immersed in the desire to fight, leaving no room for retreat, leading to a result of either you die or I perish.
However, despite the major drawbacks, the strength of these two skills is evident, causing Galos to covet them somewhat.
The Wild Dragon and Eternal Dragon make great complements; even if they are not recklessly used regularly, they can be kept as a last resort, perhaps turning the tables one day when faced with a life-and-death crisis.
The problem is.
The job of a Wild Dragon is not simple, with prerequisites just like the Martial Dragon.
Just as the Martial Dragon requires a life-and-death battle to awaken Dragon Qi, the Wild Dragon needs to experience intense rage to awaken the Power of Anger, gaining a medium to convert anger into energy.
Galos often wrestled with his emotions.
Intense rage, Fury... these emotions were hard to manifest in him, even when the Dragon Hunting Squad had pushed him into a perilous situation; his mind remained calm and rational, mastering Power with logic, not letting anger affect him.
The job requirement for a Wild Dragon was harder for Galos than a life-and-death battle.
"Let it be, life as a Dragon is long, there will always be an opportunity."
"The story of achieving greatness while young does not belong to the Giant Dragon."
The Red Iron Dragon thought to himself.
Those Ancient Dragons, unless lazy as if they were Gordon, have each pursued multiple paths by the time they reach the Ancient Dragon stage.
Even if the levels they pursued weren’t very high, the variety of skills and techniques is vast, not even the Ancient White Dragon can be underestimated.
Long life is an innate advantage of the Dragon Race.
There’s no need to accomplish everything while young.
Gathering his thoughts, the Red Iron Dragon turned to look at the mages and shamans on both riverbanks.
"Those who stand will die; those who kneel will live."
He stated calmly, his voice as cold as iron.
Upon hearing this, the mages and shamans on both sides of the river trembled and kneeled in large part, while most of the stubborn ones quickly turned to ash under the Dragon Breath.
With this, the Battle of Raging River concluded, and the reign of the Molten Iron Tribe over the Border Area began.
