Chapter 3: Hidden Strength
"We're not members of the Yu Family. We should be able to leave here, right?"
The eldest disciple Zhu Fang didn't look at Yu Zhentian's expression at this moment, but instead raised his head to look at Third Villain on the roof.
Third Villain suddenly burst into loud laughter and said with narrowed eyes, "Naturally there's no problem. However, you now only have two breaths of time remaining."
"That's enough."
Zhu Fang breathed a heavy sigh of relief. Having said this, he directly turned and rapidly fled toward the courtyard exit, while the two junior disciples beside him followed immediately without any hesitation.
"You... you bunch of treacherous disciples!!"
Yu Zhentian was completely furious. He leaped up and reached to grab the three people.
The others were one thing, but these three disciples before him were ones he had adopted since childhood and carefully taught until adulthood. Over these years, he had spent countless efforts on the three of them.
Therefore, he could not accept their betrayal no matter what.
"Everyone flee quickly! If we don't run now, it'll be too late!" Zhu Fang shouted loudly, and together with the other two disciples, they exerted their full strength and exchanged several palm strikes with Yu Zhentian.
In a series of violent explosive sounds of qi energy, the three of Zhu Fang were sent flying by Yu Zhentian and crashed into the rockery beside them, even smashing cracked pits into the hard stone.
All three of Zhu Fang suffered internal injuries, suddenly spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood and rolling to the ground, almost unable to stand up again.
Taking advantage of this opening, the other martial arts school disciples and apprentices no longer had any hesitation and immediately seized the opportunity to scatter and flee.
Even the eldest senior disciple was fleeing for his life. If they didn't run now, staying would only mean dying in vain.
At this moment, Yu Zhentian's white hair was disheveled and his body was trembling.
"Why?"
He didn't pay attention to the others but gnashed his teeth and questioned Zhu Fang, his eyes showing both anger and deep disappointment.
"Time's up!"
Third Villain raised his hand and slashed out a blade of qi energy from afar, directly splitting a willow tree in the courtyard in half, "From now on, whoever dares to move again will end up like this tree!"
Seeing this scene, those who hadn't yet escaped were immediately scared out of their wits. Their footsteps stopped at once, not daring to move even an inch.
"We're finished!"
Zhang Dazhuang swallowed hard. Looking at the broken tree as thick as a thigh, his face was ashen as death.
Li Musheng shook his head without speaking. Zhang Dazhuang turned around and asked in a trembling voice, "Asheng, why didn't you flee?"
"Seems like I should be the one asking you that question." Li Musheng turned his head sideways.
Zhang Dazhuang gripped the staff in his hands tightly. That face full of rough features showed a touch of bitterness as he sighed, "Actually, I'm also afraid of death. But if the old hall master hadn't taken me in back then, I would have frozen to death in that winter many years ago."
"So I can't leave, even though I know staying won't be of much use."
At this time, there weren't many people left in the courtyard. Li Musheng sat down on the stone steps nearby and slowly nodded, "Each matter should be treated separately. Although old man Yu is selfish, stingy, and a snob, debts of gratitude must still be repaid."
At the same time, facing Yu Zhentian's questioning, the eldest disciple Zhu Fang wiped the fresh blood from the corner of his mouth and suddenly laughed, "Master, you ask me why? Then let me ask you, where are the eldest young master, second young miss, and all the other Yu family members right now?"
Hearing this, Yu Zhentian was suddenly stunned, his full chest of fury momentarily halted.
Zhu Fang continued, "Master, actually you knew long ago that the Seven Villains of Zha River would come today, so you arranged in advance to send away the eldest young master and the others, yet left us disciples behind to die in place of your Yu family, isn't that right?"
Yu Zhentian didn't speak. Zhu Fang's face gradually became distorted, "On ordinary days, you said you regarded us as your own sons. In the end, aren't we just cannon fodder dying in your place, Yu Zhentian?"
"If I hadn't discovered this by accident, today all of us wouldn't even know how we died. In fact, even until death, we would still be foolishly sacrificing our lives for your Yu family."
At these words, all the martial arts school disciples and apprentices in the courtyard were shocked.
Only now did they belatedly realize that during today's great event of the old hall master washing his hands in the golden basin and retiring, they seemed to have never seen the eldest young master, second young miss, and the others.
For a moment, everyone looked together at Yu Zhentian standing in the courtyard.
Zhang Dazhuang did the same. However, when he saw Yu Zhentian's aged and elderly face, his expression slowly dimmed as he said in a low voice, "Sigh, I can understand the old hall master."
Saying this, he paused and said, "However, Asheng, you curse the old hall master for being stingy every day. Why did you stay in the end?"
Li Musheng spread his hands and said, "Old man Yu said that after washing his hands in the golden basin, he'd give everyone five taels of silver. Haven't I not gotten the money yet?"
Hearing this, Zhang Dazhuang raised his head and looked deeply at Li Musheng, "Losing your life for those five taels of silver isn't worth it. Actually... you don't need to be like me, throwing away your life for nothing to repay a debt of gratitude."
Li Musheng smiled and waved his hand, "After I get the silver, I won't be staying at this Yu Family Martial Arts School anymore."
...
"We don't have the leisure to watch your master-disciple fratricide drama."
Second Villain's hoarse voice came from the roof. He raised his hand and waved.
A masked black-clothed person holding a long rope lifted two coarse burlap sacks from behind and below, directly throwing them in front of Yu Zhentian.
Two painful groans sounded from within. The sacks were also torn open by the powerful qi energy, revealing the two figures inside.
"Xian'er, Second Sister!"
Yu Zhentian's expression immediately changed drastically. The two people before him were precisely his eldest son and second daughter whom he had secretly sent away.
"Playing tricks right under our noses, you underestimate us Seven Villains of Zha River too much."
Third Villain sneered as he looked down at Yu Zhentian, slightly narrowing his eyes, "Hand over the item, and I can be magnanimous and give your whole family intact corpses."
Yu Zhentian's figure stiffened, but he didn't respond. Instead, he hurriedly checked on the condition of his son and daughter.
However, he discovered with shock and rage that his son's limbs had been broken, and his four-hundred-pound second daughter was covered in wounds, blood flowing. Even white fatty tissue was flowing out from the wounds.
"You're courting death!"
Yu Zhentian immediately became furious. His internal energy surged, creating a strong wind as he roared and raised the long sword in his hand, leaping onto the roof to kill Third Villain and the others.
Soon, sword qi crisscrossed and debris flew everywhere as Yu Zhentian fought together with five people, excluding Second Villain.
What made everyone feel incomparably surprised was that Yu Zhentian, fighting one against five, was actually not at a disadvantage in the slightest.
"Old thing, you're still hiding your strength even at death's door."
Third Villain's gaze was gloomy. The blade light in his hands was like lightning, each strike of the blade a killing move aimed at vital points.
Originally, he had still planned to hold back, wanting to capture Yu Zhentian alive for interrogation, but now, without going all out, he simply couldn't suppress the other party.
Seeing this scene, Zhu Fang and the others were all stunned in place. They truly hadn't expected that this master of theirs was actually keeping such a low profile, with martial arts strength far greater than what they usually saw.
"You bunch of treacherous disciples, quickly take Xian'er and Second Sister away. I'll hold them off."
Yu Zhentian's voice like thunder resounded beside everyone's ears. Before Zhu Fang and the others could react, Zhang Dazhuang was the first to rush to Yu Xian's side, wanting to help him escape toward the courtyard exit.
However, when he saw Second Miss Yu covered in wounds on the other side, he clearly hesitated for a moment and urgently looked toward Li Musheng with a plea for help.
"Brother Zhang, leaving this four hundred pounds to me is somewhat excessive!"
Li Musheng frowned, the dissatisfaction clearly written on his face.
