And so, the Mo Family of today was born, becoming one of the Seven Great Families of the Southern Domain.

After hearing Mo Qingxue’s story, Li Chang’an understood everything.

The Mo Family had truly endured. Annihilated and re-established time and again, they were as resilient as weeds.

Mo Qingxue said softly, "That ancestor once said that the Ancient Mo Family was never truly destroyed. He believed they would one day return, and when they do, our family will rise to true prominence."

As she spoke, she took out a jet-black token and handed it to Li Chang’an.

The token’s material was unknown. The character for "Mo" was carved on its face, and it radiated an ancient, weathered aura.

"This is an Identity Token from the Ancient Mo Family. Whoever holds it, even if they aren’t a family disciple, is considered an honored guest of the Mo Family."

Mo Qingxue explained that the current Mo Family possessed only two such tokens.

She gave the token to Li Chang’an to provide him with an extra layer of security.

If the Ancient Mo Family truly returned and Li Chang’an ever faced a life-or-death crisis, he could use this token to request the Mo Family’s protection.

Li Chang’an did not refuse.

In return, Li Chang’an overhauled all the arrays protecting the Mo Clan Territory.

He set up thirteen Quasi-Tier Four Arrays in total. Each was of a higher quality than an ordinary array of its kind, layered and interlinked to make the Mo Clan Territory impregnable.

After finishing all this, he bid farewell to Mo Qingxue and returned to Changqing Mountain, entering the Underground Palace deep within.

Poisonous gas filled the Underground Palace.
