Chapter 162: The Next Evolution
A few days passed. "Crash," Dennis pulled his fist back from the last claw centipede he had fought inside his dimensional training room. His breath was shallow, and he was completely winded. He opened his status menu; his level had reached 99, and a prompt appeared.
[Berserker Class level 99 reached. Do you wish to evolve? [Yes] [No]].
Dennis pressed yes. A new interface appeared before him with another question.
[Evolve to: Beast Berserker (Next Evolve: King Berserker (max)). Ready? [Yes] [No]].
Dennis shut down his training room and returned to the real world. He took a quick shower before gathering Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne—who was holding Destiny—in the living room.
"So, here’s the deal. I’m going through another awakening. While I’m under, I need you all to just stay here at the house," Dennis said.
"Oh... I see. How long will it take?" Daisy asked.
"Hmm... I’m not sure. How long, Sami?" Dennis asked Sami.
[About two days, Master. Possibly faster.]
"Oh, two days, huh," Diana muttered.
"Hmm," Dahlia added with a simple hum.
"Alright then, just leave the rest to us," Donna said, patting her chest confidently.
"To make sure you’re more comfortable, you shouldn’t use the master bedroom, hon. Use the council room instead; there’s a bed in there," Deborah suggested.
"Hmm... good idea. I’ll head to the basement after this," Dennis replied.
"Don’t worry. You know the seven of us won’t be easily defeated by anyone," Dulcia said proudly.
"Rest easy, dear. We’ll keep an eye on you," Daphne added, giving him a thumbs up.
"Okay then, I’ll be checking out for a while," Dennis said.
"Da—da!"
Dennis immediately took Destiny from Daphne’s arms and held her. He kissed her forehead and cheek, playing with her for a moment. Then, he headed to the basement, escorted by his seven wives and Destiny. After entering the council room, Dennis lay down on the bed—which was really just a stack of mattresses, but comfortable enough—in a quiet corner of the room. Once everything was ready, he pressed Yes.
[Evolve in progress... body shut down... 90... 80...]
As the countdown approached zero, Dennis’s consciousness began to fade, and he finally fell into a deep sleep. Once Dennis was fast asleep, Daisy spoke up while holding Destiny.
"He’s asleep," Daisy said.
"Da—da," Destiny said, reaching out for Dennis.
"Don’t bother Papa for now, Destiny. Just play with your mamas for a bit. Papa is tired and needs his sleep," Daisy said.
"Da—da?"
Destiny looked confused since she still couldn’t understand the explanation. Daisy then led the others upstairs while slowly explaining things to Destiny. They walked toward the exit, taking one last look back at Dennis before finally closing the door behind them.

Meanwhile, inside a dark expanse that felt like outer space, "huh," Dennis opened his eyes and sat up. He looked around his surroundings.
"Wait... am I back in the training room?" Dennis asked, confused.
"Correct, Master. You are currently in the training room."
Hearing a woman’s voice behind him, Dennis spun around, his eyes widening. He saw a beautiful girl with black hair tied in a bun, wearing office attire—a blazer suit and a skirt—along with high heels and glasses. She appeared to be carrying a tablet. Her bright blue eyes locked onto Dennis, and she smiled.
"Uh... who are you?" Dennis asked.
"It is I, Master. Sami," the girl replied, revealing herself to be Sami.
"Oh... you’re... Sami?" Dennis asked, stunned.
"Yes, that is correct, Master. This is the first time we have met face-to-face, although your wives have actually met me before," Sami answered.
"Huh... really?" Dennis asked in shock.
"Yes, Master. Back when all your wives were still one person," Sami replied.
"Hmm... I see. But why am I here now? Shouldn’t I be evolving?" Dennis asked.
"There is something I must explain to you, Master," Sami answered.
Sami immediately explained that this evolution would most likely be detectable by Ray. The reason was that Dennis was now reaching the same tier as Ray, and naturally, Ray would want to know what was happening. Sami had brought Dennis to the training room to continue practicing and gathering EXP points. This way, when Dennis finally woke up, his level wouldn’t be back at one; all the EXP points earned during the evolution process would be funneled into his status once the evolution was complete.
Sami also mentioned that she had already informed Daisy and the others to temporarily move to an apartment or a hotel and rent a place there while Dennis was still evolving.
"Wait, I thought you said it was only two days?" Dennis asked.
"That’s true, Master. But you surely realize that if you are detected, your wives and Destiny will be the ones in danger. That is why I asked them to evacuate for now—think of it as a two-day vacation. They are getting ready as we speak," Sami answered.
"Oh, I see," Dennis replied, feeling a bit sad that he would be left all alone in the house for two days in a deep sleep.
"There’s no need to worry, Master. Your seven wives said that each of them—except for Daisy, because I forbade it—will take turns coming back here to check on you and watch over you for a few hours at a time," Sami said.
"Hmm... I see how it is," Dennis said, feeling a bit relieved.
"Alright then, let’s begin the training. Are you ready?" Sami asked.
"Wait a second, there’s something I want to ask. If Ray can detect me, that means I can detect him too later on, right?" Dennis asked.
"You can, Master. You will be able to tell exactly where he is by the aura of his energy," Sami answered.
"Hmm... good to know," Dennis replied, punching his fist into his palm.
"So, shall we begin now, Master?" Sami asked.
Dennis stood up and got ready, cracking his neck and knuckles. He began warming up once more, taking light hops while inhaling and exhaling deeply. But then he stopped, confused because no interface had appeared.
"Wait, where’s the selection menu?" Dennis asked.
"There isn’t one, Master, because for this session, you are fighting me," Sami answered.
"Huh?"
Suddenly, Sami’s body dissolved into pixels and reappeared wearing barbarian combat gear. Her hair, which had been in a single bun, was now tied into two buns on top of her head. Seeing this, Dennis let out a smirk.
"So, I’m training against you?" Dennis asked with a grin.
Sami didn’t say a word. Instead, a holographic interface suddenly popped up in front of Dennis. He immediately read it, his face twisting in shock as he saw the status on the screen—it was Sami’s profile. Dennis looked back at Sami, who stood motionless before him, then back at the screen. He even rubbed his eyes and blinked repeatedly to make sure he wasn’t seeing things.

Name : Sami (system).
Rank : No Rank.
Power : ∞ (infinite)
Abilities : Martial Arts.
Weaknesses : None.

"Huh... are you seriously an SSS-rank monster?" Dennis asked.
"That is correct, Master. So prepare yourself; I will not be holding back. I will train you hard for two days in the outside world, which equals thousands of years in here," Sami answered with a smirk of her own.
"Holy crap, thousands of years? You’ve gotta be kidding. And what if I die or get hurt?" Dennis asked, his mind racing as a bit of fear crept in.
"Don’t worry, Master. You will continue to live and heal, though you will likely still feel the pain. So be careful. Besides, this isn’t reality; it’s just a simulation, right? Come at me, Master," Sami said.
Seeing Dennis standing still, Sami didn’t waste another second. She suddenly vanished and reappeared right in front of him.
"Huh—" Dennis, caught off guard, tried to dodge, but Sami’s hand-thrust was far faster. "Ssshk." Sami’s hand drove straight through Dennis’s stomach until it emerged from his back, soaked in blood. "Cough." Dennis spat out fresh blood, his mind still trying to process what had just happened to him. But Sami didn’t give him a moment; she yanked her hand back, and Dennis collapsed onto his back as her hand dragged his internal organs out with it. Naturally, Dennis’s vision went dark immediately, and when he opened his eyes again, he was lying flat on the ground.
"Uh."
Dennis sat up and reflexively checked his stomach. The puncture wound from Sami’s hand was gone, and he didn’t feel the pain anymore. Then he looked over at Sami standing before him, her hand still shaped like a spear and dripping with blood.
"Do you understand now, Master?" Sami asked.
"I do... I can still feel the ghost of the pain. Alright, let’s go again," Dennis answered, struggling to get up on his own.
"Excellent. Let us continue, Master," Sami replied with a smile.
Finally, they began to train, clashing their techniques as Dennis fought desperately to dodge Sami’s relentless barrage of attacks. Meanwhile, in the outside world, Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia—who was holding Destiny—and Daphne stood beside Dennis. They had already packed suitcases and supplies for Destiny.
"Alright, we’re heading out now. We’ll be at a hotel nearby, not too far away, honey," Daisy said.
One by one, they each took turns kissing Dennis’s cheek, even Destiny, who clearly still didn’t understand what was happening. After that, they all left Dennis behind, following Sami’s instructions.
