Chapter 157: The Baby Catch the Intruder
Silas didn’t answer Dennis’s question even though his mouth was now free. He just hung his head and stayed silent, but his jaw was clenched tight like he was holding something back. Dennis sighed and finally pulled his smartphone out of his pocket. Seeing this, Silas’s eyes went wide.
"What are you doing?" Silas asked.
"Calling the cops, obviously. I just got back and I’m beat. Whether you answer me or not doesn’t matter; I’m still calling the police," Dennis replied, clearly annoyed.
"Wait... don’t," Silas said.
"Don’t? You break into someone’s house and then tell them ’don’t’? Are you insane? You violated my privacy, broke into my home, used my stuff, and now you’re saying don’t call the cops? Give me one good reason why I shouldn’t report you," Dennis said, his voice rising a bit even though he remained calm.
Silas opened his mouth and then closed it again, unable to find the words. He looked down, his eyes darting back and forth as if searching for an answer.
"Just as I thought," Dennis muttered, sitting in front of him.
"Wait... if you report me, I’ll report you too for keeping all these weapons here... and for plenty of other illegal things in this house," Silas said, attempting to turn the tables with a threat.
Dennis glanced at Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, and Dulcia; he smiled as he saw his six wives struggling to hold back their laughter. Dennis casually reached into his pocket and pulled out his wallet. He opened it and flashed his Hunter License at Silas.
"Go ahead and report me. My wives and I are hunters. Keeping weapons at home is perfectly legal for us, and you’re dead wrong if you think I won’t report you just because you threatened me with that," Dennis said. His voice was heavy, and his face was inches away from Silas’s while his other hand pressed the emergency number.
"Damn it," Silas muttered.
"Da—da!"
Everyone immediately turned toward the doorway. They saw Destiny crawling and peeking from behind the door, looking delighted to see Dennis. But before anyone could move, Silas, whose hands were bound, lunged toward her. He scrambled up and clamped both hands around the neck of the baby, who just sat there quietly, staring at Silas with her cute little face.
"Don’t move, or I’ll twist your kid’s head off," Silas threatened, a smirk spreading across his face.
Instead of panicking, Dennis simply turned around and sat cross-legged on the floor. Daisy just shook her head, while Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, and Dulcia looked perfectly relaxed, as if they didn’t have a care in the world. Seeing their reactions, Silas was genuinely confused. But before he could process what was happening, he was flipped upside down and slammed onto his back. His consciousness began to fade.
"Baaa!"
The last thing he saw was Destiny standing over him with a wide grin, exposing fangs that no baby her age should have. After that, he felt a sharp pain in his neck and everything went black.
Daisy immediately scooped up Destiny and pried her jaws away from Silas’s neck. She wiped the blood from the baby’s messy face before carrying her over to Dennis. Destiny reached out for him, so Dennis stood up and took her from Daisy’s arms.
"Da—da!"
"Yeah... you were great, but don’t just go sucking blood from anyone, okay? Mama Diana taught you better than that, didn’t she?" Dennis asked.
"Da—da," Destiny cooed, placing her palm against Dennis’s face.
"Okay... good that you understand," Dennis replied with a smile.
"What about him?" Daisy asked, pointing at Silas, who was sprawled out by the door.
"The police will be here in a minute... but how did Destiny get here and out of her crib anyway? Where’s Daphne?" Dennis asked.
"She’s probably asleep. Hold on, I’ll check," Dulcia answered, walking out of the room and stepping over Silas as if he were just a piece of unwanted junk.
"Mama’s girl really is amazing; one uppercut and a grown man is out cold," Donna said, stroking Destiny’s head.
"As she should be," Dahlia added, kissing Destiny’s cheek.
"Yeah... should we clean this guy up or just leave him be?" Diana asked.
"Just leave him. Let the police haul him away later," Dennis answered.
"Let’s head to our room; I don’t want the cops seeing me," Deborah replied.
"Alright, let’s go," Dahlia agreed.
"Fine, but after that, we’re having dinner. Don’t you dare stay hidden in there," Daisy said.
"Roger that," Diana, Donna, Deborah, and Dahlia replied in unison.
They stepped into the capsule inside Dahlia’s wardrobe and took the teleport down.
"Ma—ma?" Destiny said, confused because her mothers had vanished into the closet.
"The mamas are just hiding for a bit, they’ll be back out soon," Daisy said.
Destiny looked stunned for a moment, but then her cheerfulness returned as she went back to staring at her own hands, fascinated by her tiny fingers. They walked out and headed to the master bedroom. Sure enough, Daphne was fast asleep, and Dulcia was busy trying to wake her up.
Dennis finally went downstairs after handing Destiny over to Daisy, waiting for the police to arrive. Within ten minutes, two squad cars pulled up. Four officers jumped out, ran up the driveway, and onto the porch. Dennis had already opened the door and directed them inside to arrest Silas on the second floor. Afterward, one of the officers asked Dennis for a statement, which he was more than happy to provide.
Once Silas had been hauled downstairs by two officers and taken out of the house, the officer who had taken Dennis’s statement turned back to him.
"Thank you. That man has been a fugitive for the past few days following a stabbing and the sexual assault of a girl that resulted in a miscarriage," the officer said.
"Oh? Is that so? Wasn’t he already serving time and on probation for an embezzlement case?" Dennis asked.
"Yes... that too. It turns out that during the recent attack, many inmates from the federal prison escaped amidst the chaos. We’re still trying to track down the others, and perhaps by interrogating this man, we can get some leads. But one thing is for sure: this man will stand trial again because he’s facing new charges," the officer explained.
"Hmm... I see," Dennis replied.
"Alright, I’ll be going now. If there are any developments, I’ll let you know. Thank you for your cooperation," the officer said.
"You’re welcome, officer. Thank you as well," Dennis replied.
The officer headed back to his car. Dennis closed the door and took a long breath, leaning back against it.
"Finally over. Time to get some rest," Dennis said.
Dennis sat back on his living room sofa, relaxing. He didn’t turn on the television and left his smartphone face-down on the coffee table. But suddenly, the police officer’s words echoed in his head: sexual assault resulting in a miscarriage.
"Did the officer mean Bella? Rika said she was just kicked in the stomach. But... it doesn’t really make sense if she was only kicked, unless the person doing the kicking had incredible strength. Well... it’s none of my business anyway," Dennis thought to himself.
He fell silent again and closed his eyes. Moments later, the sound of footsteps approached from both the basement and the second floor, closing in on him.
"Honey, do you want to come?" Daisy asked.
"Huh... go where?" Dennis asked, his eyes still shut.
Dennis opened his eyes and turned around. "Whoaaa!" He practically jumped when he saw Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne—who was holding Destiny. None of them were wearing a stitch of clothing, only carrying towels. Even Destiny was stark naked, busy playing with her hands.
"Holy... what are you guys doing?" Dennis asked.
"Hehe... we have a jacuzzi pool inside the council room now. It’s finally finished," Deborah answered.
"Wait... since when did you build that?" Dennis asked, bewildered.
"At your parents’ house... there were so many materials just lying around, so I scavenged them. Now the council room has its own jacuzzi. It’s not huge, but it’s big enough for all of us to fit," Deborah replied proudly, making no effort to hide her body.
"Come on, honey, give it a try. It feels amazing to soak in warm water when you’re this tired," Daisy said, taking hold of Dennis’s arm.
"Truly, dear, let’s go. Deborah and Dahlia just finished installing it," Daphne added, taking his other arm.
"Come on, baby, let’s soak together," Dulcia chimed in, hugging Dennis from behind.
"Let’s go," said Dahlia, crouching in front of Dennis, holding his thighs and looking up at him with a pleading face.
"We can just rest and soak in the pool, my husband. Come on, please," Diana urged, sitting beside him.
"Da—da!" Even Destiny joined in.
Dennis looked at each of his wives’ faces, all of them looking at him with those same pleading eyes, wanting him to join them.
"Um... just a bath, right?" Dennis asked.
"Yes... just a bath," Daisy, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, Dulcia, and Daphne answered in unison.
"Seriously now... no other activities in the pool, right?" Dennis pressed.
"Yes... we promise," they all replied together.
Finally, Dennis gave in and they headed to the basement. Sure enough, inside the council room, there was a door leading to another space. Inside was a fairly large octagonal pool, big enough for everyone, filled with warm, bubbling water. The atmosphere was dimly lit yet glowing, not at all creepy. They all climbed into the pool.
"Wow... you’re amazing, Deborah," Dennis said to Deborah beside him, enjoying the soak.
"Thanks, hon," Deborah said.
But then, Deborah kissed Dennis, and he kissed her back. Naturally, one thing led to another, and soon everyone was kissing him. Despite their promises, though they did take turns keeping an eye on Destiny.
