Second Chance: A Dark Tale of Urban India

Chapter 210: Eight vs One

Rocky’s expression twisted with rage. He pointed at Rohit and screamed at his team, "What the fuck are you all staring at?! Break his legs!"

A dangerous grin spread across Rohit’s face. "...Like I’d let you."

The instant the words left his mouth, he exploded into motion.

Instead of retreating toward the open field, he sprinted diagonally toward the forward football goalpost, where the space narrowed.

On the way, he slammed his shoulder into the nearest player and threw his loosened bag at another one blocking his path.

Caught completely off guard, both boys stumbled sideways just enough to give the space.

"The hell—?!"

The others reacted a heartbeat too late.

They immediately gave chase, trying to surround him before he could escape.

Rohit counted the footsteps behind him. One... Two... Now.

He stopped so abruptly that the first pursuer nearly collided with him.

His elbow shot backward.

Crack.

The strike smashed into the boy’s jaw before he could even raise his guard.

Without wasting the motion, Rohit’s leg whipped low.

Thud.

His shin slammed into the next boy’s supporting knee.

The student’s balance vanished instantly. He crashed sideways, colliding into the teammate who had just taken the elbow.

Both rolled across the grass in a tangled heap.

The remaining six slowed instinctively.

Their momentum was gone.

The big guy player immediately spread his arms and began moving to Rohit’s right, trying to cut off his escape while shouting at the top of his lungs.

"Block him!"

Instead of continuing in the same direction, Rohit pivoted sharply toward the opposite side for a few steps and took a sharp running turn, dodging the encirclement.

Now he was heading straight for the same football post where he had earlier marked his territory.

He turned his head only slightly to see everyone following him in a frenzy, their faces maddened as they forgot all formation and chased him in a straight line — just as he wanted.

Rohit’s lips curled upward.

’Too predictable.

However, before he could reach the football post two boys were able to intercept him from other direction.

Rohit slipped between them before either could react, hooked one around the neck with his forearm, and shoved him forward with all his body weight.

The stunned student flew straight into his own teammate.

Both lost their footing and collapsed together.

Rohit never even looked back. He reached the football goalpost. Now the field worked in his favor. The metal frame and net blocked one side completely, forcing everyone to approach from the front instead of completely surrounding him.

Rohit didnt stopped running and started to revolve. Three boys charged together, chasing him in a line. The first entered range.

Snap!

Rohit paused and turned, delivering a front kick that hammered into the first one’s stomach.

The second received a side kick square across the ribs before he could throw a punch.

The third instinctively hesitated.

Rohit immediately sprinted again, making tight circles around the net.

The players became frustrated.

"Damn it!"

"Catch him!"

The remaining players scattered, trying to cut off every escape route. This time they stopped chasing in a straight line, spreading apart to box him in.

Rohit noticed it immediately.

Learning already...

One player lunged from the left.

Rohit slipped outside the punch and drove a sharp kick into the side of his knee.

The joint buckled. The boy dropped onto one leg with a cry of pain. Before he could recover, Rohit grabbed the front of his jersey and yanked him violently sideways.

At that exact moment, another footballer rushed in with a flying kick. The attack landed squarely into his own teammate head.

The impact threw both boys sprawling across the grass.

Gasps erupted from the students watching.

"What the hell..."

"He’s making them hit each other!"

Phones continued recording from every direction.

Rohit released the torn peice of collar without the slightest hesitation and started sprinting.

He refused to stay still for more than a second. Every time they tried to surround him, he moved.

Every time they grouped together, he forced one into another. Every time someone rushed blindly, their own teammate paid the price.

Rocky’s expression slowly changed. The mocking confidence disappeared. His eyes tracked Rohit’s movement around the goalpost. Only then did he realize what was happening.

He isn’t running... He... he’s controlling where we fight.

His jaw clenched.

"STOP CHASING HIM!"

The shout echoed across the football ground. The players instinctively froze.

Heavy breathing filled the silence.

Rohit stood a few meters away near the goalpost.

A faint smile crossed his face. "...Finally." His eyes met Rocky’s. "I was beginning to think none of you knew how to use your brains."

Rocky’s expression hardened. He slowly raised a hand toward his teammates. "Spread out and encircle him. There is no way that fucker can escape us now."

The footballers immediately began moving apart, no longer rushing recklessly. This time... they intended to hunt him properly.

Rohit paused as he saw them change tactics efficiently, even outsmarting him for a quick moment.

They spread out, marking him as the target and slowly encircling the goalpost since he was using it as a shield.

It might take longer, but eventually, they would reach him. Even if he used the environment, it would be exhausting to face all of them at once.

Rohit’s smile disappeared.

He clapped his hands once."Okay, I admit it. I underestimated you all. But it’s not over yet."

His gaze sharpened directly onto Rocky. "Since you’re the one barking orders..."

He took a slow, deliberate step forward. "...I’m going to break your mouth first."

For the first time that morning, Rocky’s expression changed. He hadn’t expected to suddenly become the target.

Before he could even process the threat, Rohit exploded into motion, sprinting straight toward him.

"Stop him!" Rocky shouted instinctively.

Avesh reacted first. Confident that Rohit couldn’t simply run through him, he stepped directly into his path with both arms spread wide. "Cross me first.

"Rohit never slowed.

He actually increased his pace. Then, he launched himself into the air, his knee rocketing upward.

Crack.

It connected squarely beneath Avesh’s jaw. His entire body lifted off the ground before collapsing backward onto the grass. Rohit landed without breaking stride and continued his ruthless charge.

Rocky’s eyes widened. "What the—? Stop him!"

Two more boys rushed in to intercept.

The first lunged, grabbing Rohit’s arm in an attempt to stop him by force.

But before his grip could settle, Rohit drove a sharp elbow backward into his jaw, sending the boy crashing to the turf, seeing stars in the early morning light.

The second boy swung a wild kick.

Rohit blocked the incoming strike with a raised knee guard and instantly followed up with a sweeping roundhouse kick. His leg slammed heavily into the boy’s ribs, folding him sideways before he could even recover.

Rohit kept running. There wasn’t the slightest pause.

The broad player planted himself directly in front of Rocky. "I dare you, fucker. Pass me."

Unlike the others, he didn’t rush blindly. He raised a tight boxing guard, keeping his fists high and ready.

The first jab came fast. Rohit slipped outside it.

A hook followed. He leaned away.

Another jab. Another hook.

It was all heavy, fast and wild. One clean hit from a guy this size would completely destroy Rohit’s momentum. So, Rohit didn’t gamble. He simply waited.

The fourth punch overextended. ’There.’

Rohit caught the wrist and twisted. Spinning in to gain maximum momentum, he raised his free hand and delivered a sharp knife-hand strike that smashed into the broad player’s bicep.

The arm instantly went numb and dropped.

Before the massive boy could react—Boom. An elbow exploded across his jaw. The impact sent the giant crashing sideways onto the earth.

Students watching from the sidelines gasped in shock.

No one had expected the biggest football player on the team to fall that quickly.

Rocky finally panicked. "Don’t let him near me!"

The last two boys instinctively threw themselves in front of Rocky. They weren’t trying to attack anymore; they were trying to act as a human shield.

Rohit never slowed. He accelerated instead.

Just before reaching them, he exploded upward into the air. His legs shot apart in a flawless midair split-kick. Both heels slammed into the two defenders’ chest almost simultaneously.

Before Rohit had even landed, his leading knee drove straight into Rocky’s stomach.

Thud!

The air burst from Rocky’s lungs.

His body folded into an arch before skidding several feet across the grass.

Rohit landed abruptly and immediately pivoted. By using Rocky to absorb the heavy momentum of his strike, he was able to instantly regain his balance and drop back into a proper fighting stance.

The first defender had already regained his balance and were charging him again.

The first reached him, but Rohit whipped a low kick into the outside of his knee.

The joint buckled instantly.

Before the boy could collapse, Rohit caught him tightly by the jersey and shoved him off, sideways into his teammate, who had just begun rushing forward.

Both tumbled into a tangled heap. They tried to stand up but couldn’t. The path was finally clear.

Rocky was alone. Half-sitting, half-crawling, his legs spread apart.

He stared up at Rohit as though he were looking at a monster.

Instinct took over.

He began dragging himself backward across the grass, never daring to look away, terrified that the moment he blinked, Rohit would already be standing over him. "N-No... No..."

His voice had completely lost its earlier arrogance as he scrambled backward. "Bro... I was wrong. I won’t go near Seo-yeon again. I swear. I won’t chase any girl. Please... don’t come near me..."

Rohit didn’t answer.

He simply walked.

Each step was slow and measured.

His breathing had grown noticeably heavier, and sweat dripped from his forehead. Even after completely dismantling the group, the 1-versus-8 fight had taken its toll on his body.

He stopped directly over Rocky, who shrank backward in pure terror.

Rohit grabbed the front of his jersey and hauled him halfway upright.

His voice was low, dropping to a cold whisper. "What did I tell you?"

Rocky shook uncontrollably. "I... I’m sorry..."

Rohit’s fingers tightened like iron around the collar. "I told you... I’d smash your fucking mouth."

His fist drew back."

STOP!"

The thunderous voice echoed across the football ground.

Every head turned instantly.

The principal stood near the edge of the field, his face flushed red with absolute fury. "What the hell is going on here?!"

Silence blanketed the field.

Rocky immediately scrambled away from Rohit, coughing violently as he frantically put distance between them.

The principal looked around. Eight football players lay scattered across the grass. Some struggled to stand, while others clutched their ribs or jaws in agony.

Only Rohit remained standing. His chest rose and fell heavily, his knuckles were scraped, and his uniform was stained with dirt.

The principal’s expression darkened instantly. "You again." His voice dripped with pure disbelief. "Weren’t you suspended just last week? And today you’ve started another fight?!"

Rocky immediately pointed a trembling finger at Rohit. "Sir! He—"

"Enough!" The principal’s roar silenced everyone.

"I don’t want a single excuse."

His furious gaze swept across every football player before settling back on Rohit.

"All of you. My office. NOW."

No one dared to argue.

As they began walking, the principal noticed dozens of students still standing around with their phones raised.

His patience finally snapped.

"What now?! You all planning to become news reporters? If I see one more phone recording instead of attending class, I’ll ban mobile phones from this campus altogether!"

The crowd dispersed almost instantly.

Within seconds, the football ground returned to a quiet stillness. Only the torn grass remained as proof of the chaos that had just unfolded.
